    Newbie- 4 Days Post Op

Memily, I wouldn't worry so much about protein right now. Try concentrating on liquids to keep hydrated. I put lemon in my water since a lot of us don't like the taste of plain water after WLS. Good luck to you on your new journey.
  2. Almost a year post op. I was sleeved 12/5/12. SW 227 CW 151. 11 pounds to goal! Wonderful, wonderful life changing!
  3. Don't regret a single thing! I wish I would have done it sooner! I've lost 76 pounds and am 11 pounds from goal. I was sleeved 12/5/12 and absolutely LOVE my sleeve! We had Thanksgiving yesterday and I had turkey and ham for my proteins and then a tiny bite of some of the other sides. I was satisfied and didn't miss that overstuffed feeling. It's such a wonderful new life!

    Christmas - New Year Challenge

This will be my first challenge! Current weight is 153 (I've gained 2 pounds recently). Goal weight for New Years is 145. That would put me in the normal BMI range!! Edit 1: Well, correction. I just weighed and current weight is 151. I guess I lost those 2 pounds, lol. Love the sleeve!!
  8. GG, I can SO relate! It's hard to imagine that the weight will continue to come off. We're so used to failing at weight loss that we just can't wrap our heads around finally succeeding. I'm at 25.5 BMI so one pound and I'll be "normal". I'm hoping to get to 140 before Christmas! Your doing GREAT!! And you WILL make it!!

Does Anyone Else Feel Like This..?

It's very common not to like the taste of plain water after WLS. Minute Maid has a frozen lemon juice. It's found in the frozen juice section of the grocery stores. I squirt a little of that in my water and it makes all the difference.

    Vapor

My husband and I both stopped smoking 3 years ago using an Ecig. I can tell you that for him the Ecig became a habit also and it took him a year to finally stop using it when I only used mine for 5 months total to stop smoking. He's made hints that he wants to start using it again with no nicotine recently. We talked about it and I let him know that I felt it would be a step towards smoking again. We've agreed that it's best to just not go backwards. It's just not worth the risk.
  13. So happy for you. What an awesome thing to go through together.
  14. You know Gamer, my hubby is heavy too. Probably not heavy enough to do the sleeve with me but it would be SO cool to have gone through this with him. I think it's awesome that you're getting to go through this with him.
  15. I am SO VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS! Your sister was a beautiful person. I'm so sorry.
  16. Oh yes! I can totally relate. I can go to a restaurant and order my food. When I'm finished they always ask if everything was ok like they know it wasn't. Also, I drink my tea when they first bring it so it's been a while until my meal comes and they keep wanting I refill it. When I say I won't be drinking anymore they look at me like I'm nuts.

    Joint replacement surgery

I'm glad everything went well and that you are home. Please keep us updated!
  19. It was a couple of weeks for me. I slept in a recliner until I could sleep on my side and that helped because I'm not a back sleeper.
  20. Funny. That's my plan for Thanksgiving. To have my protein first and then one small bite of each of the other things and I already know I probably won't be able to eat a bite of all of them and that's ok. I love the fact that my sleeve has my back and won't allow me to continue to eat when I'm really already satisfied.

Question for Those 1 Year+ Out

Hi, I'm a little over 11 months out. A typical day for me is tuna salad for breakfast (I make it with light mayo and dill pickle relish), I know kinda weird but I'm not a breakfast person, lunch is 3-4 oz of protein and a few bites of veggies and dinner is the same. I can generally eat anything without a problem. I'm staying away from carbs until I get to maintenance and then I'm hoping to be able to add some in and be able to maintain.
