When I drink alcohol I have vodka, a little cranberry juice (I use Ocean Spray Diet), water and Mango Passionfruit Crystal Light. Tastes awesome and not much sugar or carbs.

What foods do you no longer like?
Chellemetime replied to anglicanchic85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost my taste for plain water too. I add lemon to my water and drink it that way. -
Well, no one can make the decision for you and 27 years old is an adult so I would say, do your research and make YOUR decision. But I will say that I'm 49 years (young NOW) and I wish I had done it sooner.

Houston-SETX Sleevers?!
Chellemetime replied to jennaleigh1992's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I live in Santa Fe, Tx between Houston and Galveston. I was sleeved 12/5/12. -
How old are you? I will tell you, the sleeve is definitely not the easy way out. YOU still have to decide what you're going to put in your mouth and what your not. YOU have to make the decision to eat this way (Protein first then vegetables). YOU have to make the commitment to take your Vitamins every day. It's still YOU that has to make the decision to use your sleeve as a weight loss tool for the rest of your life so it's not the easy way out at all.

Hi everyone! I'm between Houston and Galveston in Santa Fe, Texas! I was sleeved 12/5/12!

Hi, I am 5'4" and weighed 227 at the time of my surgery almost 8 months ago. I've lost 67 pounds since surgery. The first few weeks after surgery were trying. I was emotional and sometimes angry because I could smell the food around me but couldn't eat it. BUT after that I was able to start eating and everything changed. I eat like everyone else says (protein first, then vegetables and every so often, a little but of carbs). For me (and you'll find that a lot of the people on here say this) getting sleeved was the best thing I've ever done for myself. Good luck on your journey!

Mine fell out from month 4 to about 7 1/2. I take 10,000 mg Biotin and used Nioxin Shampoo, Conditioner and drops. Unfortunately it happens to most of us but it does finally stop at some point. -
Cindy, it will get better. The first month after surgery is the hardest. Very emotional time. Just suck on ice chips, eat the damn Popsicles and concentrate on staying hydrated. Everything will get better. You're on your way to a great journey!

Stories we tell...how do you not "lie" without saying you had WLS?
Chellemetime replied to Slurpee_girl's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
For me, it's different. I tell everyone that I had weight loss surgery and that it was the best thing I ever did for myself. Even everyone at work. They all see how hard I work at eating & drinking right and they see me stay away from the constant treats that are brought in from Consultants. I've gotten lots of compliments from them and lots of questions from other overweight people about the surgery. If me telling everyone helps some people decide to do it for themselves, I would feel really good about that since I feel it gave me a quality life back. -
IM EXCITED!

I have messed up and I'm so annoyed with myself
Chellemetime replied to Camella's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In the beginning I couldn't eat any sugar or fat or I would dump. Now I can handle a little sugar (like 2 bites of cake on a special occasion) but the fat is still a no go. No vinaigrette dressing, anything cooked in a crock pot, full fat anything, fried foods are completely out. Kinda keeps me in check though. -
super excited 100lbs gone forever

Wow! Your weight loss is awesome!! I was sleeved Dec 5 and have only lost a little over 60 pounds so far. (And I'm happy with that. I only said only because comparing to you) you should be so proud of yourself for he amount of weight you've lost in such a short time! Congrats and don't be so hard on yourself. -
One year and at a normal weight!
Chellemetime replied to ShannonK's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You look wonderful! I love hearing success stories. I'm a little over 7 months out and have 12 pounds to go to get to my Dr's goal weight for me. It really helps those of us that are still trying to get there when others post their stories. Thank you for posting yours and good luck at maintaining. -
Does anyone know of a good Multi Vitamin that's targeted for sleeved people that is not chewable? I've been taking the Opurity Multi for bypass and sleeved people but I'm tired of the chewables.

I know this is a late post but I just read this one. My husbands father passed away when my husband was 18 years old from the Gastric Bypass so it as so VERY hard for me to decide to have the sleeve. I pondered for 2 years because my husband and I had been married for over 27 years. It was the hardest decision to go ahead with it. My husband was not, of course very supportive and even made the comment the day before my surgery that he couldn't believe I was going to go through all of them just to lose weight. When I came out of recovery, he was fine. He's been a WONDERFUL support every since and is so proud of me. He was just afraid he would lose me. He now feels the same as I do (I'm 7+ months out). It was the BEST thing I ever did for myself. Focus on YOU! You can focus on your hubby afterwards.

Kinda lost touch on this one. How is everyone doing? -
Laura, I enjoy this site so much. I don't have a NUT or anyone to go to exception Dr. so this is where I've gotten most of my information from. I really love this site and love all of the different opinions on things. The ONE thing that I'd like to pass along that I always taught my children when they were younger is "Concentrate on the good things in life. If you concentrate on them and think about them, you'll always have happiness in your life. If you concentrate on the negative, your negative thoughts will influence your life first". I've been through ups & downs, deaths and etc. and this outlook has helped me tremendously. I hope it helps others as well.

Wow, I just read all the way through this and am amazed at the things I learned. I'm 7 months out now and yes, I'm a food addict. I've got 12 pounds to go to get to my Dr's goal weight. My Dr is a lot different from others. He believes in 3 meals a day with no Snacks. I try to make it every day BUT sometimes I just need a snack. I usually resort to tuna salad (with light mayo) or a dill pickle. I don't eat any more now than I did in the beginning. I do worry EVERY week (I weigh every Saturday) that my weight loss is going to stop because it just doesn't seem real that I'm actually going to keep losing and actually reach a goal. I try to look on the bright side of things normally. But for some reason can't wrap my head around the fact that this is working. So it's kind of a little surprise each week when I keep losing. I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!
