What do you order at restaurants after weight loss surgery?
Chellemetime replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I eat out quite often. I order a salad and eat the toppings with little lettuce. Let's see... Mexican places: crispy fajita taco-dump it out of the shell and cut up the insides, add a little salsa and I have a perfect little taco salad for $2.00. Italian places: chicken Parmesan GRILLED instead of breaded (AWESOME!) Sent from my iPhone using VST -

I drink my water through a straw. Every day. BOOM! My Dr said it was fine to drink from a straw too. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
Will you lie about the surgery?

Maybe it's the lack of punctuation and the run on sentences, but I can't follow what he's saying either. Sent from my iPhone using VST -
My husband and I are going to California next weekend for his 50th Birthday. I went shopping yesterday because I have no jeans that fit me as we don't need them here in Texas in the summertime. I actually bought a size 8!!!! I can't believe it!! From a 22 to an 8!!! I'm SO loving my sleeve!

I tell anyone! If I can help ONE other person feel the way I do, I'll love it! -
dumping syndrome?
Chellemetime replied to EarthyGoalie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That happened to me a lot in the beginning. It was usually sugar or fat. I drank a sugar free lemon tea with honey and that triggered of because there was dry honey powder in it. Anything too greasy (ground meat, chicken cooked in a crock pot) would trigger it too. Don't worry though; it does get better. The farther out you get the more your new tummy can tolerate. -
Would you do it again?
Chellemetime replied to love to be at goal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ABSOLUTELY!! I would do it all over again in a New York minute! It's the BEST thing I've EVER done for myself. I just wish I'd dine it earlier!! -
I actually slept in a recliner for about 4 nights after I got home. I wasn't able to sleep on my stomach until about two weeks out.

Can you still eat in restaurants?
Chellemetime replied to 2ndChanceHeth's topic in Food and Nutrition
I eat out very often and have since I was able to tolerate food. When I go to a Mexican restaurant, I order 2 crispy fajita chicken tacos. I dump them out and add salsa for a small size taco salad. I can't eat all of it. Italian restaurants, I usually order the chicken Parmesan grilled instead of fried (really good) and I have left overs for lunch. Steakhouses, I order from the kids menu and still have left overs. Wendy's, their small chili ($1.50) and can't eat it all. Joe's Crab Shack, the kids crab pot. I LOVE CRAB!! -

We're on vacation right now. The group we were with the first 3 days ordered pizza for dinner one night. I ate a piece and it was GOOD!! Now I'm being a good girl. -

We had filet mignon, broccoli and loaded mashed potatoes last night. The only thing I can say is, at least I used 2% cheese, turkey bacon and Greek yogurt instead of sour cream in the loaded potatoes, lol. -

I love this thread! It really helps to know that everyone else has their slip ups too. When I "cheat" it has to be worth it so if there's potato salad at work, I taste it. If it's good, hence "worth it", I have some. When I cheat, it's usually on a carb. I LOVE and miss potatoes and pasta!! I always eat my protein first but every once in a while I allow myself mashed potatoes, potato salad, stuffed potatoes or spaghetti noodles. Oh and I will eat one cheddar bay biscuit from Red Lobster with my crab! That's 8 carbs but SO worth it!! -
