I had my sleeve 12/2012 and one of my biggest motivators was I wanted to look my best on my 40th birthday. My husband arranged for a day at the spa with my bestie and a gorgeous size 2 dress to put on for dinner which ended up being a surprise party. Life is so good. I'm healthier and happier at 40 than I was at 30. Anyone contemplating this surgery DON'T WAIT! As I've said several times, life is no longer a spectator sport.

All of my December sleevers...
Stephannie replied to blkdiamond377's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Life is good!! I'm down 136 lbs and slightly under goal weight. I'm happy, healthy and turned 40. So glad I did this!! Hope everyone is doing great! -
I am the Maid of Honor in my best friends wedding. While shopping for her wedding dress the boutique only had a size 2 in the one she wanted to try. So....she asked me to try it on. I've been married forever but dug out my actual wedding pic for a side by side. What a shock. I sure wish I would have had my sleeve years ago!! Love my sleeve. Surgery Date: 12/2012 Start weight: 246 Current: 109 4' 11 & 1/2" Age:39

I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)
Stephannie replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thank you so much!! To be honest, I've not exercised at all. I have 5 kids, a hubby and a demanding career. I think I must have good genes although I have plenty of excess skin on my tummy & legs. Congrats on your success. -
Size 2 wedding dress
Stephannie replied to Stephannie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've had no plastics. Just good genes I guess. I haven't exercised at all mostly because I have 5 kids and work full time. I do have extra skin on my legs and tummy and my breasts are sad but nothing I can't live with. I will eventually get them done. THANKS FOR THE KIND WORDS!!! -

Had the pleasure of trying this dress on for my best friend who is getting marries since the only sample they has was a size 2. Who woulda thought!!?! It sparked me to pull out my wedding pic for comparison. I hardly know that woman....(although she still has the same dreamy husband) Surgery 12/2012 Start weight 246 Height 4' 11 & 1/2" Age 39 Current weight 109 Love my sleeve -
TRUST ME!! I understand. I never dreamt there was this tiny body under all of that fluffiness. I always said "I'm big boned" or "I'm solid". Come to find out....I was just fat. Lol hang in there. I look forward to seeing your new found smoking body!!!

Did a little lunch time shopping and bought a couple size 0 dresses. It's hard to believe I used to go into that same store struggling to fit into a size 22. Losing over 130 lbs truly changes so many wonderful things. Surgery date: 12-2012 Starting weight 246 Current weight 109 Age-40 Height 4' 11" & 1/2 HAPPIEST SLEEVER IN THE WORLD

Well, today I had some cereal for breakfast (Apple Jacks if I'm being honest) and for lunch I had one piece of Hawaiian pizza. I've not had dinner yet and not sure I will. Might just do a protein shake or bar. I lost the majority of my weight the first 6 months and have been between 105-116 in the last 6-7 months. I weigh every day which I know a lot of people are against but it holds me accountable. I do eat what I want, just in small portions. I don't work out. I have 5 kids, a hubby (my 6th kid) and a very demanding career. I think I would have better muscle tone and not be as "skinny" looking had I worked out but I just didn't want to and since the weight was coming off I decided not to over think it. I can't tell you how much it has changed my life. My career is better than ever, I participate with my kids, I love going places with my hubby and traveling and experiencing different things. It just doesn't get any better.

Does anyone regret it?
Stephannie replied to XForeverYoursX's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Never a single regret. Understand that in time you can still have your favorite foods just not a mass amount. It's hard at the beginning but I can promise you putting on a size 2 is more satisfaction than I've ever gotten out of even my favorite food!! -

After seeing first hand the success I've has with my sleeve I'm excited to share that my Mom is getting her sleeve on July 29th. As she approaches her surgery date and starts the pre nutritional classes she is finding out some pretty scary stuff and quite frankly scaring the hell out of me. We've all heard the story about the guy who went through the drive thru on his way home (blah, blah, blah) and all of the fear inducing "don't over eat especially right after surgery" advice but she told me that people are experiencing organ failure after being a few years out because they're not getting enough protein. Has anyone ever heard of this? I'm not from a medical background so maybe it's a dumb question but wouldn't someone show signs of organ failure way before experiencing this life threatening situation? I'm not good about protein intake or even calorie intake for that matter and maybe this is her "scare tactic" but I must know. I have 5 babies.....

Thank you so much! I appreciate the feedback and feel much better. Plus, like it was said, what can we do about it now?

NSV that brought me to tears!
Stephannie replied to Katie74's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I made up excuses for 14yrs! I know you will feel amazing when you're able to get in! Best of luck on your journey!!! My kids said to me "I thought you didn't like the rides". I told them that for a very long time to avoid another embarrassing situation. Now I do everything with them and even took them to trampoline nation where they had a scale and nobody over 125 lbs could be in the little kid area. I proudly jumped on that scale with no shame and realized I was the only parent jumping with my kids. It was a good feeling to be right there with them. ALL THE BEST TO YOU!! When was your surgery? Can I ask how much you lost? That is absolutely AMAZING!!!! I bet they LOVED playing with mom!!![/QUMy surgery was 12/2012. Start weight was 246. Current weight is 109. Crazy, huh? And just like everyone I struggled my whole life. Who would have known there was a sassy little size 2 under all of that. Certainly not me. My sleeve is more than I could have ever asked for. -

I just saw your picture....you look AMAZING!!!! Congrats on the rides and the 2 piece....you are rockin' it. I have struggled with some complications in the beginning and also not seeing a difference in the mirror. I still see myself 100 lbs heavier, I couldn't argue with sitting in the ride! It is all worth it!!!! Congrats again and God bless yours and everyone's journey! I too still see myself heavy. I wear a size 2 and for some reason it just doesn't register. In fact, my husband jokingly said I've become conceded because I'm constantly in the mirror when the truth is, I keep looking in the mirror because I still don't recognize myself. Like you said, you can't argue with fitting in the rides and wearing a smaller size. Hopefully we'll both come into our own. God Bless YOU!!! -
For the first time in my adult life I rode every ride and never put on a cover up (which I would have NEVER taken off even to swim) at the WATERPARK. And did I mention I PROUDLY rocked a bikini!!!!??? YES, I did. Surgery date: 12/2012 Start weight: 246 Current: 109

WATER PARK IN A TWO PIECE
Stephannie replied to Stephannie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I has to the surgery because I didn't want food to control me. The first 3 months I followed directions religiously but after that I listened to my tummy. Something's I could tolerate and some I couldn't. I eat what I want only in small portions. I don't exercise. In fact, cancelled my gym membership last week. I have 5 kids and a full time job.
