  1. I was sleeved December 6 2012..... I'm down 52 pounds and feel reborn. I'm going to the gym 3-4 days a week for cardio such as treadmill, bike and elliptical.... A little weight lifting but not much. I'm eating between 900-1100 calories a day. I do for the most part choose my food wisely and weigh everything on a scale..... Anywhere from 3 ounces of chicken with 2 ounces of green Beans and 2 ounces of mushrooms etc. Sometimes I think I should go back on liquids because my weight loss has slowed down significantly and I fear stretching my stomach and getting bad habits back. I have a great deal of respect for my surgeon Dr Mitchell Roslin; he told me last week; "you control your sleeve don't let your sleeve control you" ... And he was very pleased with my progress He said if you eat each meal to your stomach's capacity, it will stretch...... Guess this is a scary thought for me.... How are you feeling? Thanks for sharing... And listening
  2. Hello everyone. Band removed and sleeved on 12/6........ Feel great and down 20 pounds. I'm still on liquids for another week and a half but I'm feeling hungry for the first time since my surgery. I love to cook and I been cooking for y family since I'm home recouping. Is anyone else feeling hungry? Up until now I was never hungry....... What are you feeling?
  3. Tomorrow I will be 2 months post op band to sleeve. I have lost 43 pounds so far but the scale hasn't moved in two weeks.... WTF. I log ally food into my fitness pal and have a fit bit.. gym at least 3-4 times a week. I noticed that I can eat more since surgery and it bothers me as the scale stalled. I have been eating between 800-950 calories a day. When I eat, I eat too much and don't feel so great but I feel like my mouth wants to taste more food....not good! Day of surgery I was 271 and now 227 but I want to lose another 30 pounds at least. I was never hungry for the first few weeks after surgery but now I'm feeling hunger...Why? Has anyone been down this same road?????? Thanks for sharing.
  4. Hey everyone..... 8th week band to sleeve revision.... 41 pounds gone...Nice! I wonder if I'm eating too much. It seems I eat and then I feel like crap! For instance tonight I ate broiled flounder about 5 ounces and about 2 ounces of spinach..... Feel like crap.. Had to lay down with discomfort. Not pain just uncomfortable and a little nausea. Tunafish gave me the same feeling too. What are you eating and how much? Please share..... Thanks!

By the way.... The scale has not moved in almost a week......
  7. Starting my 8 week post band to sleeve. I have lost 41 pounds, feel great but the scale seems stuck. I have been following the docs and nutritionist recommendations but it seems I can eat a little more then 4 ounces of food and sometimes I feel like I over ate. I'm a bit apprehensive about starting to eat other foods. How is everyone doing after week 8? What are you eating and how are you ffeeling??
  8. Dr. Mitchell Roslin in Northern Westchester Hospital or in Lennox Hill Hospital in NYC. Chief of bariatric surgery. Why go anywhere else... It's your care. Go to the BEST!!!!
  9. I am 6weeks post op band to sleeve revision and 41 pounds...YAHHHHHH. I ate tuna salad for the first time and felt sick to my stomach. Ate it again today for lunch....yup; sick to my stomach. Today for dinner my best made me boneless and skinless chicken thighs. Made me feel the same sick to my stomach. Scrambled eggs are fine. Soup and other purees have been fine. Has anyone had problems tolerating certain foods? I have tried some cheeses with no problems. I was told that as I start eating different foods my stomach may not tolerate them. What has been your experience? Thanks for sharing..... I love my sleeve!
  10. I'm one month and two days band to sleeve revision and down 37 pounds. I feel great! Here is my dilemma...... I CANNOT get motivated to get my arse to the gym. I joined PF which is a real nice, clean facility but I can't seem to get there. I know exercising is critical and will enhance my weight loss as well as build muscle. I just can't get into it. Can someone share with me how I can get motivated. I have a bad back but that's not my excuse.. I'm just too damn lazy. Thanks for your input and appreciate the help! Eric

  14. 3 weeks 2 days post op band to sleeve revision. Down 31pounds and feel great! I'm on my "thin purée stage". I am eating a scrambled egg or some cream of wheat for Breakfast, blended Healthy Choice Soup for lunch ( 5 ounces), blended chili or mash potatoes or puréed cauliflower and a ice pop or two for Snacks. Getting around 450 cals a day. Also get a test tube of whey Protein with 40 grams of protein in addition to my daily food intake. I take mega mens liquid Vitamins and citri-cal daily. What are you eating or did you eat when you were at my stage? Thanks for sharing. Happy and Healthy New Year to all.
  15. I am post band to sleeve revision since 12/6 and I feel amazing! I wanted to post this to share my experience and to help anyone considering a sleeve for their WLS. I am down 27 pounds and had to go buy a few shirts. This is so great since I never saw results like this with my band. My family and friends can not believe the change that has already occurred and my wife says I'm gonna be too skinny soon (yeah right!). This is so great! Again, I hope this helps anyone who reads this and is looking at their options. Only 1 problem, I been Santa for the past 10 years and this year my suit looks too big on me..... Guess I need a pillow. Merry Christmas to everyone and happy Holiday's. God Bless and enjoy!
  16. Today I am 2 weeks post op band to sleeve revision. I am down 27 pounds and feel great! Doctors orders are 3 week of liquids before thin purees. Christmas is next Tuesday; 2 days before my 3 weeks. I think for Christmas dinner I will try thin purée, perhaps some mashed potatoes and gravy. Do you think that's a bad idea and that I should wait the 2 days? See, we are American Italian and rest assured there will be a feast for the day. I'm wondering if I can do harm by starting the purees early. Any comments or experiences are welcomed. And of course; Merry Christmas to you and yours.

  18. Got the ok to advance to thin purees starting Christmas Day. Can you guys share what you ate/eat? I would appreciate any ideas or recipes for thin purees. I'm looking forward to mash potatoes or even a scrambled egg. Certainly can't have the Christmas antipasto, lasagna or ham so I'm depending on you for some ideas. I appreciate everyone's responses...this is a great place!

    1st surgeon appointment

Ask what the risks are considering you co-morbidities. Ask how many sleeves has he/she done. Ask how long they have been performing lap bariatric surgeries. Good luck!
