Hi! My name is Katie & I live in Knoxville, TN. I am a happily married 29 year old mother of two. I have a daughter that is 2 years old, and a son that is 1 year old. I am also a kindergarten teacher. I've been very blessed in my life and the only thing I've never been happy with is my weight. I've been overweight for my entire life, even as a child, and obese for about 15 years. It's time to make a change! I don't want my children to grow up with a mother that's always too tired to play with them, or having issues with food because of my unhealthy relationship with it, or even worse, not having me at all because of an obesity related health condition that ends up killing me. I am in the process right now of getting approval for my sleeve. I'm on month 4 of my required 6 month diet, I've had my upper GI, an ultrasound, lab work, EKG, and a psych eval. So far, so good! I'm hoping for surgery in late June/early July as long as everything goes well!
