I'm good so far. I can't take much off the lunch tray other than the protein powders and water. Everything is has made me nauseated. Pain has been tolerable for the most part. Shoulder hurt pretty bad yesterday but it's better today. I've walked 3 times today and hopefully they will let me out tomorrow.

I'm officially on the other side! Nerves almost got the best of me yesterday but I got thru it and I'm glad I got them under control. Haven't been in too much pain all things considered. I walked once last night, hopefully will be up moving and drinking today

Thank you everyone

In just a few short hours I will be on the other side. My sister just went back and I'm next on the list. Still not nervous, just anxious to get it over with.

Any 20-30 Year Old Sleevers Out There?

Oh, our BMIs are a little higher than yours but we don't have any other health issues either. -
Any 20-30 Year Old Sleevers Out There?
lacifer90 replied to MouseOnTheMile's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 22 and will be sleeved in the morning. My sister and I are both having it done, she is 18. We didn't have any problems getting approved with insurance after we did our 6 month supervised diet and psychological evaluation. As far as the after surgery part, I'm curious too. -
I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 Monday morning...the liquid diet has kicked my tail but now I know what to expect after surgery
-
This will be the first time I've had any kind of surgery or been in the hospital so I have no clue what to expect. I'm most concerned about the catheter because I'm not a fan of the idea lol

Fear of dating after major weight loss
lacifer90 replied to OnlyDownFromHere's topic in Singles Forum
This topic opened my eyes a lot. I will be sleeved in 2 days! Yay! I'm 22 and have only been in 2 "serious" relationships. I dated my best friend for almost a year but he was gay and basically used me as a cover. Then there was Joe...I was in love with this guy and he treated me great in the beginning. After a while he started to use me for my money and a ride and eventually ended up cheating on me but still tried to convince me to stay. I admit I have low self esteem but I don't deal with cheaters. When he realized I grew a pair and was leaving and the free ride was done he beat my ass. Not trying to tell a sob story but that is the kind of situation I was putting myself in because I didn't think anyone else would have me with the way I look. I'm afraid that I might put myself back in the same positions even after the weight loss because that has always been normal to me. I can't really weed out the guys that wouldn't have me when I was fat because I'm moving 2 weeks after surgery. Superficial really isn't my problem because the way I see it everyone has a preference. I'm more worried about putting myself back in a controlling relationship. If I had someone now that loved me for me no matter what size or shape I am, I wouldn't worry about what's going to happen in the future with any other man. You have to focus on the day you're living not what MIGHT happen a year or ten from now. -
Thanks for the info. In the class and even in the original meeting with dr. Dyer everything was just kind of a generic overview of what to expect so even though I've been researching and reading everything I could for the last 6 months it's not the same as actually talking to someone.

The goal weight number
lacifer90 replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been wondering about this too. My doctor hasn't said anything about a goal weight so I have no clue what to aim for. Of course I have that perfect world number that seems way too far fetched but who knows. I don't know if I should just set small goals for myself or set the big final goal. I feel like if I set my own goal and don't reach it I failed. This is my first chance at being at a healthy weight in my life but the BMI weight for my age and height seem unreachable at this point. -
How long were you in the hospital?

Who is your surgeon? I'm getting sleeved at Centennial on the 8th by Dr. Dyer.

I hate my pre op diet!
lacifer90 replied to softballmom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a pre op diet that is basically the same as stage one and two after surgery with different protein drinks. I had to start 10-14 days before and I've been on it for 8 days now. The diet doesn't bother me until someone is eating something that I binged on a lot. I'm glad I had a pre op diet like this so I know what to expect after surgery. I have lost almost 20 pounds on the diet so far and go in for surgery on the 8th -
Did you keep your surgery a secret?
lacifer90 replied to KanesMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only people that knew while I was going thru my 6 months was my family and my best friend. I have told a few other close friends that I was having surgery but I didn't go into details so they really don't know what it is or what to expect to happen to me. Im trying to wait as long as I can before I announce it to everyone. -
How much time did you take off work?
lacifer90 replied to Dawnyellow's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon said 2 to 3 weeks depending on how things are going at the 1 week post op visit. I had hoped to be able to go back sooner but it looks like I might lose my job over this. I have a feeling I will appreciate the time off to adjust even if I do have to job hunt again. -
Modelmydiet.com is pretty cool too. It's not real people but it's fun to play around with
