To Tell or Not to Tell?

I told my mom, my youngest son, my best friend, and of course my husband (who had just had sleeve surgery). I forgot my mother tells everything to everyone. Opps! I've only had two negatives, my best friend worried about me having surgery, and the rest saying I look to thin. No one has even ask how I lost weight. Oh, I do know my ex is telling everyone I'm on drugs. I don't care. Anyone who knows me doesn't believe him, and the rest can sit and spin. Sorry about the tangent. Do what's best for you. And I like what everyone else said. Protein, lower carbs, portion control and exercise. By the way, I would NEVER ask personal questions as to how. I'd more than likely tell them how great they look and keep up the good work, but that's me.
  3. Congrats! You are doing great. I'm so glad my husband decided to do it, I would have never thought of it. 2 1/2 years out and I went from a 2x to a 9/10.
  4. I can't believe it! I am now 125 pounds. What I weighed in high school. Thinner than I was in high school. I am so happy and so much healthier. I hit a road block at 140. I stayed there for six months. I was still happy at that weight. Then all the sudden I started losing again. Kind of scared me. Went to doctor and had helacobator pylori. No biggie. Nothing wrong. The only problems I have is stomach aches. Which I know I cause myself. Still struggle with eating to fast, to much, and not chewing enough. Surgery so worth it!
  5. No, no, no, no. I will NOT gain my weight back. This is WAR!
  6. Carbs... I only eat a couple bites. I've really only been drinking protein drinks. The TKR is still aching and since I'm walking different my foot is cramping. Oh well. It is what it is. I've gained 4 pounds. Eeek!

    Still being judged after death

I think people talk bad about other people, because that's how they feel about themselves. They want to bring you down to their level.
  13. I know we aren't supposed to take ibprophen, but there are times nothing works. I take the least amount to do the job. Chiropractor has me taking sesame oil pills. They seem to help.
  14. @@cantseemytoes Well, volume seems to help mine. But, if they get really bad I take a couple of ibprophen. I have also been seeing a chiropractor.

  17. Im afaid ill gain the weight back. Has anyone else had this fear? Ive hit my goal weight, now im worried.ain the weight bac . Things
  18. Well, all of you are not alone. I had total knee replacement surgery one month ago. (Knee weighs 2 pounds.) So, I'm basically not getting any exercise. I also have slip ups with carbs and sweets. Go for weeks watching everything I eat, then totally eat wrong. Still fighting my life style habits. I was saying earlier that husband bringing in bad foods didn't affect me. I guess I'm wrong. If they weren't around, it would be easier not to eat them.

    Missouri....St. Charles County Sleevers

@@queenwendy Him and his staff are the reason I was able to get the surgery. My BMI was to low. I ended up doing sleep study. I had sever sleep apnea. That's one co-morbidity. He studied my medical records and spent a lot of time questioning me about my medical issues and my families medical issues. I don't know how he did it, but here I am over 2 1/2 years later and 92 pounds lighter. He's a great doctor.

@@CanyonBaby I've gone through a lot of the same things in last year. Knowing I was not alone got me through some very dark times. I know we are a group for WLS. But , I feel this group is so much more. If you need a place to go, I'm sure most of us will be more than happy to support you in these trying times.

    Unsupportive partner

I was in a horrible relationship. It escalated from verbal abuse, to threats, then to domestic violence. It's a never ending cycle. They are always sorry. I did this for seventeen years. In all that time, never once did he take care of me, doctors appointments, trips to the ER. He was never supportive. I have to take part of the blame, I stayed. You are worth so much more. You are going to need help and support after this operation. Will he be there? Is there anyone else you can lean on?
  24. I am 5' 6" inch's, started at 217, am down to 125, and am 52 years old. I am also over 2 years post op. I don't have a lot of lose skin, but enough to bother me. It really shows when I lay on my side. I am quite active, I love to hike. It seems as if nothing is working. This may be because of my age and loss of elasticity of my skin.
  25. Get some rest, if possible. I know I didn't. I'm so excited for you!
