I had discussed with my family as well they never really said anything until I was ready to book and their opinions started coming out. My moms main concern was doing it in Mexico. I literally broke down and said look this is why I am doing this and I need your support in this or don't say anything and from there on out they haven't said anything else negative. I know they are nervous but I am as well. I had to reassure them that I wasn't the first person to go to Mexico to have it done and had to is how them all of the research I have done. They also don't know how hard it has been to fight my weight my whole life and I had to let them know how I felt about myself right now and I really don't think that they knew that I was really this unhappy! Hope everything works out and you get the support that you need, I definitely found it comforting when I found this app on my phone! Best wishes!

Getting sleeved Jan 9th Puerto Vallarta, getting so excited. Starting my liquid diet on Jan 1st actually looking forward to it after the holidays and all! Haha!

I decided to go to Dr Joya because someone I know went there and had no complaints. I also wanted to go for an extra few days and recover on the beaches of Puerto Vallarta. I am going on Jan 7 for a week staying at an all inclusive with one of my girlfriends and having the sleeve done on the 9th. Gerald is very fast to answer any of my questions and made me feel super comfortable. Can't wait!

Absolutely!!! I am looking forward to it. Those what ifs keep popping up in my mind. Positive everything will be fine and I will be fine. It's like the closer I get the more nervous I get and then my mind wonders again. So I look forward to starting this new journey knowing that I will be just fine.

It was actually cheaper for me to book an all inclusive 7 night package at a different hotel than to go for 5 nights just airfare. I guess probably because they dont have daily flights. Being that I am staying at a different hotel, I will have to take my own taxi to the hospital. But they discounted me a couple hundred dollars from the original price, which is pretty much $100 for each night that I wouldn't be staying at the Sunset Plaza. So it worked out better for me. I am paying for my friend to come as a companion and with the package from the doctor it didnt include food etc for my companion. So all inclusive lets us stay two more days and I am saving money. So all I cam suggest is look at all options available.

Oh my, less than two weeks away. The anticipation is crazy. Except for the fact that I have been sick for the last week and have now lost my voice. Can't believe it's coming so fast.

I am going to Amerimed Hospital in Puerto Vallarta. It looks really nice, way nicer than the hospital here in Canada. Haha!

Depends on your health, and I imagine every doctor is different but the usual blood work, EKG

I am schedule for January 9th in Puerto Vallarta so excited to go. Can't wait! I did most of my communication via emails. They were super fast to answer my questions and made me feel really comfortable so now I am just looking forward to it. Wait times were minimal within one to two months I think. I paid $1000 deposit and $5200 when I get there. It worked out perfect for me time wise anyway, didnt want to wait for years before I could get it done and a perk for me was to be able to spend a couple of days recovering on the beach. I am heading to PV on Jan7th for scheduled surgery date of Jan 9th with Dr Joya. Can't wait.

I used grapefruit seed extract and it really helped my sore throat. It tastes horrible but it works great! Good luck feel better soon

They can range in price from $10-100. Being a nurse and on my feet all day I wear them everyday and love them.I bought at Shoppers Drug Mart for I think $15.00.

Wasnt asked to wear them, but you can reasonably priced ones at a local drug store.

3 weeks away!! Cant wait! Gonna try and think about the positives about the surgery, so I can try and relax! Hehe

Wondering what peoples opinions are about Dr Joya? Booking for a surgery date of Jan 9 coming from Canada was curious of peoples experiences.

Can I ask are the Body By Vi shakes acceptable?

I feel the same way, my surgery date is January 9th. Feeling anxious, nervous, excited all at the same time. I wondering about the preop diet, i was told start shakes 7-10 days before surgery and nothing to eat or drink the night before surgery. So can I have a small meal two nights before is this ok? Going outta town for surgery withy friend coming for support so it would be great to have a nice small meal two night before. Any advice would be great!

I have a few of these episodes and am pretty sure they wont be the last. It can be pretty nerve wracking, it terrifies me at the thought of not being here for my 3 year old son. My father passed away when my son was 6 months old and I made a promise to myself that I will do whatever it takes to be here and be a positive role model for him. So that whatever it takes is now a trip to Puerto Vallarta on January 9. So when you question yourself remind yourself why you are doing it. Feels like I have to remind myself hourly! Haha! Yes I leave here in January 7 and have surgery officially booked as of today (yay) for January 9.
