Wow!! That is fantastic!!

Hi all! 10 days post- op today and I feel great! Finally able to get in all 64 oz!! It took me awhile because if I sipped closer than 1 minute apart I would fill soooo full and my stomach would start gurgling then I would burp. That has passed...whoo hoo! I still cannot believe that I am not hungry!! Not even craving anything. I have 2 teenagers and a toddler in the house so not having any snack food around was not an option. I really thought that was going to be hard for me. In the past that was what usually got me off my diet. Not this time!! I am looking forward to purée foods. I can't wait to have a Yukon mashed potatoe lol Until then Cream of asparagus soup is the best lol. How is everyone doing ?

2 protein shakes! That is excellent. I just added some unflavored protein to cream of chicken soup and that was pretty good! Determined to get in my protein!!

I place these patches on my patients all the time....apparently I was wearing gloves and washed my hands before touching my face lol. Such a rookie nursing move on my part ... Lesson learned!!

Hi! I was sleeved jan 10th. I planned on giving updates along the way, but didn't quite fill up to it. I had a adverse reaction to the scopolamine patch ( for nausea) I applied the evening before surgery. It made me have blurry vision for 2 days! I had to remove it after 1 day. For 2 days the nausea was unbelievable! Being an oncology nurse I know a few drugs that help with nausea and finally I had to coax my nurse into asking my Dr for the additional drug.......relief at last! . I had a PCA for pain. I used it often the first day then was switched to oral pain meds on day 2. I must say however looking at that 15 cc cup of thick syrupy liquid pain med I had to get down while nauseous was not my best moment lol. Every time I got up to use the restroom I went for a walk in the hall. I never went more than 3 hours without walking and I never experienced gas pains. Loved having my robe and slippers! I've been home for 2 days now and my biggest challenges are: I'm still a little light- headed when I first stand and walk around, my energy is really low, getting in about 1/3 of my protein ( dr says ok in the beginning not much protein wasting yet ), getting in 1/2 of my fluid intake ( time to really step it up). I haven't taken any pain meds since first night I was home. I keep the abdominal binding on most of the day and that really helps ( especially when I cough since I caught a cold from my 2 year old ). How is everyone else feeling?!

I'm at the hospital now! Waiting to get called back.

Tomorrow is the big day!! 9:40 am Spending time with my 2 year told now. Not nervous about the procedure. Just praying everything goes well so I can get back home to my little man ( and my big man too lol)

Congrats to the new sleevers!! I started this process in August. I can't believe I am actually 2 days away! Over the weekend my husband was cleaning out a storage closet and came across a box of my clothes (from about 5 years ago). You know that " one day I'm going to fit it again" stash of clothes. It felt soo good to wash those clothes and hang them up! Game on size 12....see you in a few months!

Hi- I'm 5'4 205. My co- morbidities are hypertension and sleep apnea. I've had hypertension for over 10 years. My surgeon referred me for a sleep study just to see if I had sleep apnea and I did. I think it helped with insurance approval.

Good video! Very honest and informative. I'm 1 week away from surgery, I was wondering if I truly wouldn't be hungry after the surgery on liquids only. Your video helped answer that question. You look great!! Congrats! Ps. love the wing stop comment! Lol

Try Nectars by Syntrax. The protein powder is like juice instead of shakes. It is still a whey protein isolate

Nectars by Syntrax has protein powder that has juice flavors. So far I have tried fuzzy navel and it is good. I mixed it with water and crystal light. Definitely a break from milk based protein drinks. Vitamin shoppe, amazon, bariatric pantry, and of corse the syntrax website all carry it, check it out.

I have anthem blue cross plus I think that's the same. I only had 1 nut eval and 1 psych eval. The psychiatrist I saw wanted me to have 1 more session with a psychiatrist of my choice ( she was concerned that I had issues with negative body image..... um maybe a little lol). The other requirement was bmi > 40 or > 35 with comorbidities . My bmi is 36 and I have hypertension and sleep apnea. Once my paperwork was sent in, I was approved in 5 days. My surgeon required me to do a lot of tests before they submitted for approval. He said he wanted to present a really good case. My medical group is Hills Physicians. I also had to meet their requirements to have it completely paid for. Otherwise my blue cross plan would cover 70%

Geez.....didn't mean to be confusing or use incorrect terminology. I'm 5'3 210lbs losing 70 lbs will give me a bmi of 24 which is " healthy" according to most charts. I have sleep apnea, hypertension and PCOS. My Dr goal for me is 140. I personally don't like the term " overweight" so I use "excess weight". Purely a personal preference

I keep reading about a pre-op diet. Is it clear liquids? Protein shakes? Just curious. My surgeon didn't require me to do a particular diet. I was asked to lose 10% of my 70 lb excess weight, so I had to lose 7 lbs( although I think I have 80 -90 lbs excess weight )
