I know exactly how you feel!! Like I have always settled with my life because I was/am fat. When I am shedding the pounds I want more excitement, fun and a more easy going atmoshpere. What has really helped me is to remember why I picked my husband in the first place. I don't know what the answer is for this yet and I am so fickled that I will change my mind the minute I think of ever doing anything drastic. Try to add your own spice without affecting anyone else first and then if that doesn't help look into something more drastic. Just don't do something you will regret later, like losing the love of your life because you wanted to live out fantasies! That's the part that scares me. Let me know if anyone else give you some good insight on this. I would like to hear it too. -
This is said very lightly..I think that people, even me, take posts like this very defensively because we are fat, we do fight our demons everyday and if it was just as simple as not bringing food into the house we would all be thin. You want these posts to hit a string with people. You and PNut are very good at asking the tough questions, but unfortunately they are worded in a way of condescending manner that I can't place my finger on. This is essentially the same posts that Pnut had about people bitchin about what they ate and still don't know why they are fat. I guess it feels condescending to me because we are all smart enough to know these things, and being that we are either interested in the band or have had the band, most of us have dealt with this issue for years...so the whole take the temptation outta the house and you will lose weight paradigm, seems condescending. TO ME, I was like, oh why didn't I think of that! Oh yeah , I did at 18 when I started getting fat! I know that your posts bring on the back and forth of differing opinions that you love to incite as you have said in previous post, so you can't take it defensively yourself when someone gets defensive about it. To ME, these posts like this feel like a Dawg and Pnut tag team event, again, to me. I just thought this might shed some light on the defensiveness seen in ya'll's most recent posts. I do understand both sides and I do enjoy the back and forth just as much. I am just giving my initial opinion. Thanks for listening or deciding to dismiss whichever you feel.

Dawg, here is my short and sweet answer: Because we are Fat! Most of us have been doing this for years and have people in our house than can eat these treats in moderation and we like to make those people happy. It's easier said than done.

I have two freakin tubs of the stuff in the freezer now that I bought from nieces fundraisers. I will bake them and send them with hubby to work so we don't eat them!! Thank god the frozen stuff isn't as good or I would have eaten the whole thing by now.

So ok, I fell, I was doing so good and then BAM!!! Fell Hard! Since I am being honest with myself I will notate everything I ate over the weekendand look up the calories for the next post. I am so upset with myself seeing that I am so close to wonderland. Back on the horse is where I need to be and the relaxed weekend eating has to be cut off until I am down under 200!!! Friday: Breakfast: 100 calorie pack of Cheese Nips: 100 calories Lunch: 1/2 chargrilled chicken sandwich from Chick fil a w/ low fat mayo and 1/2 order of small fries: 290 calories HERE COMES THE DOWNFALL!! afterwork snack: 2 bites of cookie cake with frosting from the mall Dinner: Don Pablos: 7 huge chips with about 3/4 cup of salsa, 1 chicken fajita nacho ( actually one from the order, which came with 8) and then lots of extra cheese, chicken and sour cream that I nibbled on as my band would let me. Then a sopapilla(SP) for dessert. PLUS 1/4 glass of COKE!!: total: 1 billion calories, so I know preband I would have eaten a basket of chips, 2 bowls of hot sauce, the entore order of nachos and sopapillas with extra buttery rum sauce. But still Friday was only the beginning! At least did 40 minutes on the Gazelle which burned off 400 calories! Saturday: 02/11/06 Breakfast: 2 more bites of cookie cake with icing that was PB'd because for some reason I thought I could eat this when I first woke up??? Lunch: 1/2 childs cheeseburger from Whataburger, 1/2 french fries and ketchup. 400 calories snack: Half of a piece of cookie cake with icing and a peanut butter bar from Mrs. Fields!!!! Probably a million calories. Dinner: 1/2 roll with butter, 1/3 side salad with ranch dressing, cheese and croutons. 1/3 chicken fried steak sandwich with mayo and pickles!!! Probably a million calories. At least I did 40 minutes on the Gazelle, this burned off 400 calories!! Sunday: 02/12/06 Breakfast: none Lunch: 4 bites fried onions in sauce, 10 bites chicken fried steak w/ cream gravy, 1/3 baked potato loaded, 10 bites side salad complete with ranch, cheese, croutons, eggs and tomatoes and sweet Tea~ snack: 15 peanut butter Hershy Kisses and a Dr. Pepper!! Dinner: Back to Donny P's for 8 chips, 1/2 cup of salsa, 1 whole nacho and then nibbles of cheese and chicken from the top of the nachos, 2, count them 2 sopapillas with yummy buttery rum sauce! Then 1/2 of a coke!!! Snack: 5 more peanut butter Hershy kisses! SWEET PETE, NO EXERCISE SINCE I WAS SO MISERABLE FROM WHAT I ATE!! I just remembered before we went to dinner I hit the fridge with my leftover chicken fried steak and ate the breading and gravy off of it whilst standing in front of the fridge! Now to today: Monday: 02/14/06 The horror continues: Breakfast: 10 Reese peanut butter cups! Lunch: 1/2 childrens cheese burger, 1/2 childrens fries DIPPED IN MAYO!!! 8 oz of coke: 500 calories snack: 10 more Reeses Peanut Butter Cups! This is all I will eat today since I won't get home until 8:30 from work and have too much homework to worry about! I will make it through valentines day and I will hit it hard again with no cheating!! God I am really disgusted with myself at this point, how can I go so quickly back into fat girl eating mode!?? I know I would have eaten TONS more pre band, but I just feel disgusting!!! Time to nip it in the bud. Bad habits are so hard to break! -
Ok ladies I am weird about the food too, I thought it was a fat girl thing! Apparently it's also a weird guy thing. Pork chops must be served with mac n cheese and fried okra. NO wheat bread for PB N J! Must have cheese on my burgers or it is thown away. I just did this the other night...and no, It can't be the cheese out of the fridge thrown on it when you get home from the drive thru, that is not acceptable! If the ranch is not made from scratch the salad is not eaten. God I wonder how I ever got fat?? Hmmm??? Vines, the mental picture I got of your husband flying through the air like superman to the bed cracked my ars up!!! The thought of your face just so scared!

Definately Fill time, you lose weight and you lose fat around your stomach and band giving it more room to get the food down...I would get with your doc.

Thursday was a decent food day. I will say that the Chick Fil A people tried to sabatoge me though. I pulled up and ordered my Chargrilled Chicken sandwich, extra pickles, low fat mayo. The snuck a large fries in the bag. I checked my receipt and I didn't pay for them either. Well, I was strong and ate 1 of the fries and threw the rest AWAY! I was so proud of that moment since normally that would have been cause for Happiness, but I took care of it without blowing my diet! Breakfast: 100 calorie pack of Cheese Its: 100 calories Lunch: 1/2 chargrilled Chicken Sammich/extra pickles, low-fat mayo, 1 waffle fry: 220 calories After school snack: tall caramel mocha frappachino, no whip: 350 calories Dinner: 100 calorie pack of popcorn: 100 calories bad habit: 3 pecan halves: 25 calories Total Calories: 795 Exercise: 30 minutes on the Gazelle while watching Grey's Anatomy: -284 calories burned baby! I drank all 4 bottles of my water today...woohoo Lost 1 more pound!

My Sissy is also fork trained and is the best fake shake beggar in the world! As for the casettes Donali, I told my husband he was in charge of of the music for our romantical Valentine's Day evening, since I am cooking. I figured he would set up the 6 disc changer and have it ready for that night. Last night he came home with an ECONO pack of empty casette tapes, I'm talking 30 of the things from Sam's. I asked him where he plans on using ALL of those. He told me he wanted to make me a mixed tape. Apparently 30 of them??? Who knows. We also have a CD burner??? What is with the tapes??

I will have to tell my dad of the Nickle/stick invention. He just got a new $2000 welder for his anniversary present from my mom, we could make millions! Millions I say! Has any of your husbands done the steamroller in bed? Mine will be at the foot of the bed and lay down and scream "STEAMROLLER!!" and then roll up and down the bed over me like a damn steamroller. I also acuse him of making out with the dog when I'm not home. We have a 20 pound cocker mix named Sissy and sometimes I swear he loves her more than me. He has taught her to come give him "kisses" and she licks him all over the face and then turns back and looks at me while she's doing it, like Boom, I got yo man. I think they practice all day!

Holy crap Wednesday was long, I worked 9 hours and then drove to school to an Astronomy lab from 7:30-9:30,, felt really outta place because everyone there was 18 and thier biggest problem of the night was that they didn't have a Valentine. Drove 45 minutes home and then studied for my test today that I so don't feel prepared for, but here's my food intake for yesterday: Wendesday: 02/08/06: Breakfast: 1 package of Quaker low sugar oatmeal: 100 calories Lunch: 1 Ranchero Chicken soft Taco from Taco Bell: 270 calories Snack: 1 100 Calorie pack of Chips Ahoy: 100 calories Dinner: 1 Ranchero Chicken soft Taco from Taco Bell: 270 Calories I drank 3 and a half bottles of water, but no time for exercise Total: 740 calories. I resisted the urges to stop in a Denny's and tear up a fried chicken sandwich with ranch dressing, and also forced myself not to stop at the store for Reese's miniature cups. Today should be just as good since I am too beat down to worry about food. Cravings from 5:30 am-7:41 am = Fried bread and butter? Mexican food? Why? I don't know

Nykee, I personally love your posts, because I can relate to the addictions you have to food, the sadness when it is cold, I once wanted to stab a delivery man with the plastic knife because my onion rings were soggy because he couldn't find my apartment. Like you, I have made a lot of changes post band compared to what I was like before. I ate out 3 meals a day and if I didn't have Mexican food 3 times a week I got upset. I do so much better now, but have so much farther to go. I need to start posting my food intake on here and see how it stacks up to others like me. By the way where do you find this Hershey Pie you speak of?? Ok, that was bad, don't tell me I probably couldn't resist.

I say go for it. If the gears start crying, stop!! HA!! I am so jealous I want a treadmill, I had no idea there was a weight limit? I would start out gently and then work your way up though. Like when I got my blow up exercise ball thingy, I just knew I would sit on it and it would pop and blow across the room! It hasn't so far so get goin girly...
