280 is nothing it's around 150-200 for a 30gram protein drink So figure it's only 140 cal per 30 gram protein -

I was always able to gain muscle when my caloric diet was 1200 I was losing weight and getting bigger and stronger so there should be no problem keeping or gaining muscle now Plus when your body gets smaller your muscles will look huge.

You need to go heavy with weights try using dumbells over machines and resistance you need to control the weight which will make you stronger you may gain weight but your body will shrink where it needs to .
