Hi am new to the group. I had my surgery Dec. 3. Have any of you experienced nausea after eating something and then spitting up this frothy white stuff? The food stays in my stomach but this white frothy stuff comes up and my stomach kind of hurts.. (sorry so gross but I need to know if anyone knows what it is)

In my experience, there is nothing to do but wait it out or throw up whichever your body decides to do! Trying new food can be a bad experience when it fails. I know because I try new stuff a lot. I have learned to take one bite and then wait. If after a few minutes it is ok I try another bite. If not I stop. I have a sweet tooth too. Making sugar free fat free pudding at home works great and then some fat free whipped topping...mmmm. And as long as I eat a small amount it is fine. I also like sugar free Popsicles. Also, if you want to try making different kinds of protein shakes try going to DashingDish.com and try some of her recipes, some taste very good. Anybody else know "safe" ways to get that sweet taste without the feeling sick?

Oh that is awful! I get to take pills starting today...well tomorrow actually. Opps it is midnight so that would be today! I tried some special mushroom soup with extra Protein added already. It was bad! Did you just have regular mushroom soup or a special brand? Got out of house and did shopping tonight and that was fine...but went to IHOP to eat and got sick. 6 bites is too many of an omelette should have stopped with 4. This going to take some learning to learn to eat so much less...but after my experience tonight I am very motivated!!! :-)

Isn't it strange how the different doctors have different lengths of each stage of diet and what they include? Insurance is so different about this too! For instance, How many visits to nutritionist pre surgery? Only psych eval or multi visits required? How much time before you are allowed to have the surgery? Classes required pre op and post op? When start diet, how long before surgery? Do you have to loose a certain amount before surgery? How long Liquid diet and what does that mean? Clear liquids how long? Full liquids how long? Soft foods how long? When Can you start trying regular food again? How many oz of protein a day starting what day then working up to some other number or all at once? Really! so many differences but same results...mostly...right?

I'm a Dec. 3 delivery date too! Today I woke up and was excited to think...I get an egg today! It was awesome! I had to have my gall bladder removed and hiatal hernia fixed at the same time as the sleeve surgery so I am still a little sore.(Spent 3 days in hospital.) Not needing pain meds anymore though! for our date night tonight my husband and I are going to Walmart for me to stock up on soft foods. I will ride one of those machines and he will do the heavy lifting. I wanted to try to go by myself today but he was worried about the lifting...so maybe next week alone. :-) I am walking around the house very well and going to drive the car tonight too. My insides are still shifting around with all the new space! But it feels a little less uncomfortable every day. I bought some good Matrix whey protein shake mix in cookies and cream flavor and get protein in that way. It is tasty! Also, check out the protein shake recipes on the web site "Dashing Dish" I'm buying stuff on shopping tonight to try one of those. They sound soooo yummy.

What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
Leesleeve replied to bigjoe102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I had already been diagnosed with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, re-flux, sleep apnea, asthma, and had to see a chiropractor for back and neck pain. I was so tired of being sick and tired! I was tired of being so fat. I'd had enough and was willing to try something drastic. I have lost and gained 100's of pounds but never stayed healthy weight. I needed a tool, a way to try to jump start the process of becoming and staying a healthy me. This permanent operation to me was that first step to true lasting change!
