    Breakfast Ideas

I am about three and a half months out and my regualr breakfast is an toasted English Muffin with some cream cheese and a slice of ham. I never finish it but it is pretty good. I use the double fiber muffins and non fat cream cheese. Sometimes I just toast the muffin and ad a slice of american cheese. Sometimes I just have a cup of coffee with milk and call it breakfast.

    Fever

Call the doctor or hospital where you had surgery. Do you have any other symptoms? Don't wait at all to call or go in to see someone.
  5. Connected! It happened to me too. It also happens to me with other sweets it they are over the top. I am almost cured forever. I actually forgot I could not eat that stuff anymore and put a Peep in my mouth and remembered as soon as I closed my mouth. I had to run and spit it out where I couldn't be seen. Like I said almost cured. LOL

    Are you sick?

Our new diet is very different and I got really sick with some kind of virus about two months out. I was so hot and tired and my everything hurt. I really had to take a few days and stay in bed with lots of fluids. Not so much protien but water and juice and tea. I slept as much as I could and showered often to warm up because I was sooooo cold. ( I still get really cold) Depending on how far out of surgery you are I would try some dayquil and nightquil to sleep. Good Luck!

    miserable day...

So what I read in all of this is that your mom is scared something is going to happen to you. She might not say it out loud (but did) and making up reasons not to have surgery or postpone it is her way of trying to tell you she is scared (maybe)? My mom is very passive agressive and did a little of this. "How are you going to be able to live forever on such a little bit of food?" "I don't think it is healthy to eat so little and what about your congnative function on so few calories?" All her way of being scared without saying it outloud. My mom came around and stayed with me the whole time in the hospital and was at my house everyday for a few days to help. I think you mom will make it happen because in the end it is what is best for you and that is what parents want.

    VERY ITCHY!

yup totally normal. I have been told that itchy is also a side effect of loosing weight =) I am three months out and my scars still itch to just not as bad. The ice really helps and I used benadril when they were healed.

    All of my December sleevers...

Everyone is doing so well. I am of the same mind. I am not on a diet anymore. I eat what I want and only if I really want it and it would be good for me at the same time. I find myself trying new foods, looking for unusual things on the menu, and going to places I would have never tried before. I still look at the nutritional infromation and figure out what would be my best choice for the day and stop eating when I start to feel full. Of course that is really quickly. I have lots of left overs and sometimes my dogs eat really well but it is working for me. It is a lot less stress too. Have a great month everyone!

one more pound to onederland! I haven't been in the 100s in almost 16 years!
  15. I eat a hand full of almonds or nuts daily and they are fine. I was able to eat them starting at 6 weeks. The chips and ice cream not my favorite so I haven't tried them yet and I can't stand popcorn.

    I love my sleeve but...

I have the same types of issues. I have a hard time saying no to all the snacks the girls at work eat. They have a lot of good food all the time and not just sweets. Some days I feel myself slipping into the same old habits. I have to face that I am an adict. I love food, have not thrown up once and I am scared of not losing as fast as I could. I have to reset almost everyday and take each day as it comes. Some days I have a "bad" snack but I also have realize that I used to each a whole bag of chips or a lot of cookies and now I have one chip or cookie. One thing I am trying to do is pack all my food and not carry cash. If I don't have cash and I have my food i will not order lunch with everyone else. It helps me on two fronts. I eat what I packed and spend less money. One thing can't believe is that when I eat over 500 calories I actually start to beat myself up. I used to struggle on a 1500 cal diet and now I am trying to stay under 500? What a change in life. We are all learning and we will get there. I just keep telling myself that it took me a long time to get to my heaviest and it might take me a year to get back to a healthy weight. I guess I rambled enough but I feel you for sure! K

    All of my December sleevers...

Seven pounds to onederland! I am down 50 lbs from my highest weight today! Not too bad for a few months work. I can eat what I like but tuna still doesn't work well. I am also not to fond of spicy and now I really don't like it. sweet not so great either but I am figuring it out slowly! Hoping to be at 190 by Easter. Wish me luck and good luck to all of you!

    Itchy skin? Am I weird?

The Protein shake maybe? Is it whey protein? I had some issues with it after surgery, when I started to use it, but I thought it was the anesthesia. Now that you say this maybe it was the shake because when I stoped drinking it I stopped itching,
  22. ME!!!! I have not started to work out yet! I know I shoud and I intend to some day. When I feeI ready and rested. I work too much and so on and so on. All the same excuses. I will not deprive myself either. I will only have one of something if it is not a "good food" or I will make a different choice. I have decided to eat like I am rich. I say that a lot on this site. I will only eat high quality food that is good for me. I can do that now because I can only eat small portions. It took me twenty years or more to get to my highest weight and now I am down 49 lbs since I started this, and I have about 80 to go. If it takes me a year that is ok with me. If I get down to within 10 lbs of my goal I will increase my lifespan by many years. When I get there I am going to enjoy it AND I am going to enjoy the journey. Good Luck everyone! k

    All of my December sleevers...

So far so good this week. Looks like about a pound a day. Hoping it keeps going. On three small meals a day and one mid day snack, granola bar or protein bar. The only issue I have had with food is tuna. That does not settle well. Other than that no problems so far. My goal is to start moving more next week. I am now at a weight that I can move the way I want and can start to work out.
  24. I think everyone goes through that! I almost walked out of the prep room IV and all. Good thing for the nurse who talked me down. I had surgery on 12/18 and am down a total of 47 lbs from pre-op diet and post op weight loss. Best thing I have ever done for myself. I am getting back my confidence and feeling better everyday. If you were not nervous that would be odd. Good Luck you will be great!
  25. After the letter of medical necessity from my PCP my surgeon took a verbal from the insurance company because it was part of my insurance policy. I think each dr is different my BMI was 44 with no other problems.
