Sorry you are having a rough time. I would suggest you find yourself a good therapist who deals with food addiction. -
try www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com it is a great resource site for recipes for us!!

Did you have second thoughts?
my3sons replied to ladylaura's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Once I made the decision, I was full steam ahead. I had some wonderings about what life would be like after surgery- but no second thougths on having it- I had a great surgeon, no nausea, minimal pain and was back to work in two weeks- I am 10 weeks post op, down 45 lbs...I have no regrets, I honestly do not miss the way I used to eat at all- there is real hope for the first time in my life, and that feels better than anything I could put in my mouth.... -
You can start them when your doctor tells you you can. Many people have different directions from their surgeons, follow yours. I was two weeks on liquids after surgery, it was week three when I could start soft food like yogurt.

I can eat what i want (minus bread, pasta, an rice) now what?
my3sons replied to newme31's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I try to always have ricotta cheese, string cheese, greek yogurt, sliced turkey on hand. -
I think they are another hack sales job from Dr. Oz...Dr Odd...seems like every other week he has a "new" amazing weight loss product to hawk. He is such a sell out disappointment. He gives so many people so much hope with these ridiculous products- if they are really that good- why does he push one, then another? From raspberry to special teas....

It sounds to me like you have done really well in weight loss!! I understand from vets that the loss slows down as time goes on and i see they always suggest more protein, more water, less carbs to keep them going to goal. Some days i feel like I can eat more than others- it depends on what I am eating...I try to weigh and measure everything- it really helps.

How often do you weigh yourself

April 12 is my date and I'm afraid
my3sons replied to Doughboi's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Feeling nervous and scared is a normal thing-this is a big step- it alters our lives...seven weeks out from surgery, my life is so different! I am 40 lbs down, more energy, sleep better the pain in my knee is gone- today I worked in my yard all day!! I have a second chance, and I fully intend to use it. Surgery is scary, if you have a good doctor with alot of eperience, you will be fine. I came out of surgery with no nausea, minimal pain, was home the next day and back to work in two weeks. Keep the faith, keep the focus.... -
Please speak to your surgeon. A stricture is possible in your time frame- I don't think it is normal to be able to eat LESS as time goes on unless you are transitioning from puree to dense protein. Always safer to talk to the dr.

Everyone has a different experience...as for me...I am 6 weeks from surgery I have plenty of energy - I eat about 700 calories a day- I have 3 boys 16, 14.10- work full time. I have more energy now in part because I am not eating crap, and I am down 36 pounds...I have been out to eat, I get a to go box and enjoy leftovers:) I eat slower, but not crazy slow- sometimes I want to eat more because I like the flavor, my stomach tells me I can't so I stop, and that's ok. Sometimes I have to remind myself to eat. I do not have to drink slow, I cannot drink with meals- that takes some getting used too- this is the best thing I have ever done for me...and probably my sons!

how long after my gastric sleeve surgery will I be able to eat solid food?
my3sons replied to dat_sweetmami's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was 2 week liquid, two weeks soft, "tender" real food week 5 and progress from there- it really depends on your surgeon. -
The three week stall is a common thing- stick with your program, keep the faith, you will start losing again...I know easier said than done, I was stuck fo rtwo weeks- then boom..5 lbs off!
-
Get used to the symphony!!! If you think it growls now, wait till you start on dense protein:) It is just your sleeve doing its work...normal.

PRE-OP Diet: TODAY I MESSED UP, BIG HUGE MEGA TIME :-(
my3sons replied to PatliPriya's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
Relax. Get back on track today. I am sure you will be fine for surgery- my pre-op diet was a protein shake and two "sensible" low fat meals, adding up to 1000 calories a day. Breathe. Stop beating yourself up, you will be fine. -
I got mine at a Walgreen's
-
Seriously? One week diet and I haven't stuck to anything .
my3sons replied to pixigrl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep busy, keep away from teh trigger foods, and watch the number of carbs in that "sensible" meal. If you are having a really difficult time, maybe you need to do three protein drinks to keep you full? -
feb 2013 sleevers weigh in
my3sons replied to kathyhalls's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Surgery 2/6 down 22 - have been in a stall for the past 10 days.... -
What did your surgeon tell you to take? I take vitamin D, and B12- sublingual dissolve, a chewable C and a One A Day adult multi (chewable) I also take a shot of some aloe seaweed juice my brother swears by and gave me! I use Natures Made D and B12- dissolves easy and taste good- not "vitaminy" nasty like others I have had.
-
I just bought some last week, have not seen results yet- but it does feel/smell good!
-
I would strongly suggest you speak to your doctor. Why go through the surgery to be miserable? Call the doc, find out whats going on!
-
It does get better, Gas-x, walk sip water, walk, sip water.....this is temporary, transformation takes time. hang in there!

Five weeks out and frustrated
my3sons replied to Jason Houston's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly, I would contact your surgeon. I would think at 5 weeks, you should be able to tolerate more food. There is always a chance of a stricture- and that can be fixed so you can get some relief. Please call your doctor. -
I don't expect anyone to respond because it won't happen and because you don't know how to respond you won't respond." I understood perfectly, your expectation was that no one would respond...so why post? I am truly sorry you are having such a hard time...I was trying to encouage you to continue to seek medical help as it seems you have tried everything else...good luck to you.

I considered the opinions of the important people in my life before I made my decision. Once my decision was made, they all supported me, even if they personally had reservations. I did not lie to folks at work etc, I said I had to have a hernia repaired (true) if people notice my changed habits I tell them I am eating high protein, low calorie to get healthier, (also true). I am not hiding my surgery- it just really is not anyones business....I told those I want to tell, anyone else who has the nerve to ask, does not deserve an answer.
