tired of doing the number to
thankful16 replied to Black Diamond's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am 9 months out and became lactose intolerant plus everything I ate ran through. I had a gambit of test and found I only have 2 natural flora left in my intestines which is causing many issues. I am now taking probiotics ( doctor gave me and take twice normal dose she said) plus I take metamucil 3 times a day and have pepto before meals. This is what doctor is doing before I go to a specialist. Helping some. -

I am cold alot also and was sleeved on Nov 30th. I thought I read something about if you were not getting enough Protein in that you may be more sensitive to cold. I will do a little more research though to very that. Let me know if anyone else has heard that. Stay Warm

Not eatting not drinking. Just not interested.
thankful16 replied to FAWife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am about 7 weeks out and sometimes I would rather not eat at all than try and deal with how hard it seems to manage the water to protein. You can't eat much and can't drink much and you can't combine it so it seems to take so much time trying to figure out what to do it frustrates me. I was feeling really tired and realized though, I will not have any energy if i do not atleast try and get protein in. Your body has to have fuel and while it can take from your body it really needs protein to get your brain and cells going. So if you don't get the seretonin going which is important in depression by giving it fuel they will remain lower than normal and you may feel very tired. Also try getting out in the sun if possible. 15 minutes a day will help with vit D and it increases your energy levels. hope it gets better. Take it one day at a time. -
No Full Feeling after Gastric Sleeve Surgery
thankful16 replied to Luvata's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you so much for posting about this. I am 4 weeks out and have been having a hard time ever feeling like I am satisfied. I know I am full with the feeling at the top that feels constricted and as if I can not eat any more. I will try the suggestions of trying to eat very slow and monitor. I know it takes 20 minutes to register in the stomach that you are full. I am just glad to know I am not the only one who is feeling this way. Does it help to just take little bits at a time so you are not looking at a lot of food not eaten? if you have anymore insite on this or something else comes up please share. I would love to hear more. Thank you so much -

Did anyone else fail the 2 week pre-op diet...
thankful16 replied to Huntingnurse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They told me I only needed to be on liquids 2 days prior to the conversion but I am a little smaller. The biggest reason is to shrink the liver. If it was only once and you went back to the liquids, I would think you would be ok. good luck -
Need Buddies & Mentors feeling alone
thankful16 replied to Pink Butterfly's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi! I was sleeved on Nov 30. I could just use some stories of what kind of things you go through with the sleeve and what to expect. My support group is an hour away and because my work sometimes conflicts with the meeting i could use a little more reugular support. Thanks for all your help in advance -
I would say you need two weeks. When I did my band I went back after a week and just was not fully recovered. I work in a reference lab for a hospital and do 12 shifts. When I only took a week I was not on my game yet and as an ER nurse you know what that means. take care of yourself first.

Lapband to sleeve weight loss
thankful16 replied to freespirit63's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had the band done and it was in for 4 years. I did lose 60 pounds but in the end there was dialation and a hernia. I converted all at once which I am glad because I did not want o go through a bunch of surgeries and time off from work. I am feeling sad and frustrated now though. I feel like I can't eat anything. I was sleeved on Nov 30 and it is very difficult to feel satisfied before I am stuffed with that really full feeling. I feel that my stomach is full and I cannot eat anything else, but I don't know if it is in my head or what is going on. I feel like I have made a huge mistake because I can not even eat a full small meal. I have to get the protein in of which you can only eat very little, and never get to the salade or vegtables. Also, I feel like I am behind getting fluid in all the time. You can't drink much at a time and then I have to stop and wait. Will it get better in time or is this something I am going to have to live with? Help let me know if you have been through this. -
Hi Everyone, I am 9 days post and was wondering if others had a similar experience to this. I am just starting pureed food and each time I try a new food from my list I get terrible gas while it tries to process it. There is no pain but not the nicest thing to have. Was hoping it was not just me and this was something normal as the stomach gets used to processing food again. Thanks for any input:)

Alcohol Intake
thankful16 replied to robbie_rotten's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, I actually don't drink very often but this does seem an excessive amount. Maybe ask yourself why you are actually drinking that much? What are you getting out of it that is so beneficial you would want to put your body through that once a week? Since you like to exercise, could you add more on the weekend to get the endorphins up? Or have you tried not having it in the house? How about buying a smaller bottle and starting there? Good luck, There are places you go to talk more with people about this who would be better qualified than here. Best Wishes -
Hey! I am 5;2" and just did the revision myself on 11/29. I had done pretty well on the band but developed complications with a hyernia, distension and reflux that led to a lot of vomiting. I am happy to say the surgery went great and I only stayed 2 days in the hospital. I have not taken any pain meds since I got home and the only site that hurts is where the port was. (not surprising as that was the most painful the first time.) Everything is going well. I am trying to make the transition to puree but my stomach seems very sensitive to new foods. Will just have to take it slow. One thing my stomach is not happy with is anything with eggs. I pureed some eggs to have have and not happy at all.. since I did well with the band I started presurgery at 162 and I am now 153. One awesome thing though....I never feel like I am going to throw up and if you have had the band you know that is a huge plus! Best of luck on your surgery, I will keep an eye out for you so we can compare notes. Happy holidays
