  1. I swear by Emergen-C. It's packets of Vitamins besides Vitamin c that you mix with Water. They have it pretty much everywhere. I got bronchitis right when I got home from the hospital and I got Amoxicillin. The pink stuff my kids loved. I'd say mucinex too but I'm not sure you can take those yet. Maybe it comes in liquid Good luck and I hope you get better soon

    Food unappealing

    I went through something similar. I bought soups but ended up making my own. I feel for you. All I can say is do your best to get in your Protein and Water. It will pass. Some things you may never want again. It does get better. If you can have eggs, scramble them with cottage cheese. It was pretty good. This stage was rough for me. I wanted to eat foods allowed and was so excited but once I made them I just couldn't do it. I just focused on the protein, which became a chore, and ate sugar free popsicles. Good luck. Remember it gets better!
  3. I was one of the lucky ones with the pain and gas. It was more of a discomfort than pain for me. Walking as everyone has said is essential. It makes a huge difference. I had 3 c- sections and learned about the walking back then. I had no problems with them and could say the discomfort was about the same. I think the c-sections were a tad harder. I just had rotator cuff surgery and that was worse than any of it. Good luck, I hope you have an easy recovery!

    No sugar added popsicles

    Sugar free popsicles were my savior in the beginning. I ate a bunch of them when I had trouble drinking fluids. I still like them but don't eat 4 at a time anymore. I figured it was no different than drinking crystal light. I'm glad to read my obsession with them wasn't unpopular.
  5. I think everyone is doing great! I didn't lose in February at all. But lost inches and 6lbs since the end of feb. I'm down 50 from the day of surgery and loving it. Do I wish I was losing faster yes. I think it's actually better at a slower pace as our bodies can adjust better. Plus I am losing it far faster than I was before surgery. I would lose 10 and gain 15. I'll take my losses however they come. Here's a tip I learned that we've all heard. I was busy in February and didn't get on the scale but 3 times. Much easier to deal with. Yes, I was the one getting on it more than once a day sometimes. It is far less frustrating when you forget about the scale. Keep it up October losers, way to go!
  6. I hadn't read about the runny nose. But I do get one. I'm just 4 months out and am better at not taking that extra bite that causes the pain and sometimes vomit. i have noticed I don't chew as well as I did in the beginning. This causes problems. I attribute some of it to rotator cuff surgery and I cannot cut my food to well. So I had bigger bites. Bigger bites cause me to be full without eating much. I have to correct myself and remember to chew better. Since I can eat anything I find that I'm not as conscious when eating. I love salad and I think it's the hardest to chew thoroughly. Anyone else have this problem?

    solids

    I so understand. I'd be careful with solids. As they can cause problems. i made my own Soups. I was scared to chew anything and it was better than canned Soup or broth. I did blend it. My worst craving in the first months was veggies. I am 4 months out and can eat anything. I still prefer veggies over meats but I try to eat them too and have a Protein drink for a snack. The Protein Bars don't stir well in my sleeve. Good luck and be careful with what you eat. My doc told horror stories about obstructions. I was scared to stray.

    Why do we stall?

    I didn't go to the links dean provided. I believe we stall for our bodies to catch up. Every time I hit a stall I lose inches. I kind of have an attitude of slower is better. It's not as hard on our bodies and as much as I want to get to goal yesterday, I am losing weight faster than I was before surgery. Before surgery I lost and gained. As long as my clothes get roomier and the scale goes in the right direction I am very pleased.
  10. I had my surgery 10.30.12. I have been traveling some and had a February stall. I weighed today and have lost 50 since day of surgery and 62 from my highest. I am pleased. I too have some flab. It seems to be not as bad as I first thought. But I think the "Madonna" arms I once had will not happen again and my legs may sag too. I'm older now and gravity has taken over. I think some of the skin tightens up in time, but gravity and age are not on my side:). I think I'd rather have sagging skin then it being full of fat,

    Texas Forum?

    Hi. I too live in the Houston area. I asked some sleevers if they wanted to get together about a month ago. Since I had to have rotator cuff surgery, was worse than thought. I'm healing fine. Just not what I had expected. Besides that I am moving. Not sure when it could be quick depending on the sale of my house. So if anyone was wondering I just got super busy and am sorry I didn't follow up. Hope everyone is well and losing! Can't remember if I wrote this or not but my surgery was at Memorial City hospital by Dr. Leiva. I love him. His office is on 290 near Huffmister.
  12. I am so sorry for your situation. I hope as time goes by it gets easier for you. My heart goes out to everyone who has had issues. I haven't had any complications. I did dislike my Protein drinks I enjoyed before surgery. I have come to like unjury unflavored. It works better with crystal lite, something I wouldn't normally have. At 2 months I was struggling with the protein. I still have moments where a sip of Water feels uncomfortable. I know we're all different and I really don't think any of us could really know what would and wouldn't work for us until we had the surgery. Hopefully you can find a Protein Drink you can tolerate soon. Good luck

    crackers

    I am 3 1/2 months out and can really eat anything. Crackers aren't my thing and they fill me too fast. I have been having 1/2 of a mini whole wheat pita. If I toast it I may have part of it with baba ganoush, hummus, or something as a snack, I love it for my sandwich. Makes me feel like I'm eating normal. And I always use baby spinach instead of lettuce. Not sure if this got off track or not. I used to love Dr Krackers. I had forgotten about them, they've got seeds in them. They're dry so you only may be able to eat 1 or 2 of the small ones Good luck

    coffee or no coffee?

    I was told no caffeine. In the beginning when it's difficult to get any liquids in, they advise against because its a diuretic. I'm not a big coffee drinker any more. I have had some but for "movement" purposes, if you get my drift.
