    starvation mode?

My NUT said my stall is a result of being in starvation mode. She also noted that I need more complex carbohydrates. I'm finding it extremely difficult to get in at least 800 calories and can only get about 32 ounces of water at this point. I did break the stall I was in as soon as I increased my calories and added complex carbs. I'm so dehydrated that I've been told to wake up a couple times in the night to drink some water. This part of the journey is extremely difficult. I just have to keep in mind that it won't always be so hard. I will succeed at this. I just have to learn how to give my body what it needs to function.

    Cardio after surgery

That's great that you were able to do that. I'm building up to it slowly. I want to get out of this starvation stall and kick start my metabolism. Today was my first full day back to work and then I came home and walked my dogs for 20 minutes. It's a start.

    Cardio after surgery

How are you finding the energy to exercise? I can't seem to get calories higher than 600 per day 3 weeks post surgery. I'm impressed and motivated by how much you are doing.

    Realization - Eating Habits

I'm glad you brought this up because it is a good reminder for me as well. When I'm tired the first thing I want is FOOD.

    Realization - Eating Habits

I'm facing the same issue. I had surgery 3 weeks ago and am struggling to get my calories up to at least 800 calories. I went to the grocery store Monday to get ginger tea to help with nausea and I wanted to load up on every one of my former binge foods. I had to get out of there quick! I wasn't even hungry. I was discussing that with my dietician and she said even though I don't feel hunger, my body is telling me it needs more food. So although part of that grocery store experience was habit, it was my body telling me to please eat more food!!

Don't forget to take this to the hospital

Take a full length robe. Is a huge help when you're up walking. It's nice not to feel exposed.

    Constant abdomnial pain with band

I had my band for 4 years and just had it removed and revised to sleeve. My band didn't hurt but I could always feel the pressure of it. It was very uncomfortable. I don't feel any of that pressure now. I love the sleeve.

    Any january surgery out there

Don't feel bad complaining about fatigue please. It makes life very difficult when you feel so run down. I'm starting back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off and am so panicked about it. I'm just telling myself this is another phase of this process that will pass. My boss has even told me that if I get too tired then I can take a nap. We have just gotta take it one day at a time.

Oh My Gosh, This protein drink is so delicious!

As another suggestion, I recently discovered powdered peanut butter. It's great stuff. Far fewer calories than regular peanut butter but still has some protein in it. The brand name is PB2 and I order it off of amazon.

    Any january surgery out there

How much time did you take off from work? I have taken 2 weeks but am worried about going back and feeling so weak. My employer is fine with me taking more time but also offered for me to work part time to ease back into it. I'm still so weak and tired.

    Breathing issues

I just had my revision from band to sleeve on Jan. 17th. Everything is moving along just fine but one issue I have is with taking deep breaths. I use the spirometer daily and it hurts to breathe in that deeply. Also, randomly with no warning throughout the day, i gasp for air. Just one or two huge gasps of air. Anyone else experienced this?

    Any january surgery out there

Had surgery on 17th and was home yesterday. Pain wasn't too bad. Was just hard to move with the drainage tube and catheter the first two days. I'm feeling much better now that I'm home. The two week liquid pre-op diet was the hardest part by far. It paid off though. I don't feel any hunger whatsoever.

DAY ONE PRE OP AND ALREADY STRUGGLING!

It gets much easier after 3-4 days. I'm right there with you. I'm just trying to stay busy to keep my mind off of it. I stay away from all food, people eating, smell of food, etc. I keep telling myself this is my first obstacle and I will get through it. I'm not sure there will be any survivors among the people closest to me though

We have to have a drain tube?

I didn't have one with the band but at my pre-op appointment my surgeon said I will have one for this surgery.
