I am a CO native- representin' Englewood/Littleton area of Denver! I had my sleeve in Mexico on 9/24/12. I have been on a very steep learning curve with this surgery regarding my food choices and resultant weight loss. I was wondering if anyone here has received information regarding the philosphy and practice of this weight loss surgeons from their surgeons, nutritionists, etc? I have had little follow up from the coordinators in Mexico- I was given a file folder of foods to eat after the surgery- that gradually got me eating full foods again. My doctor told me in very broken english that I should lost approx 30 pounds every 3-4 months and that "you must change the way you eat". Even though I have no capacity to over eat- it seems that I have been eating too many carbs and too many calories- which I am to keep within 6-800 total for the day. I have been struggling with continuous weight loss since the surgery- I had been on a stall for several weeks- and now that I scrutinized my intake, the stall broke and I apparently lost like 3 pounds within a few days. My weigh-in on the day of surgery was 216. I didn't lose anything while I was doing the pre-op diet, but lost 16 during the post op diet. Right now I sit at 194 lbs.
I was wondering, where do these sayings like "non-scale victory, etc." come from? What is the philosophy behing these instructions. If anyone would like to share information that was provided to them regarding the weight loss process and staying positive!
