I'm cleaning out my closet (literally)...

Your post resonated with me so much. Because I finally broke down and bought size 18w jeans because my 22s were falling down and yet I cant seem to part with the 22s. You would think that I would be rushing to Goodwill to donate them and get them out of my life forever - but they still feel like "my" clothes. This is obviously the thinking that got us in trouble to begin with. It not just about what we eat or how much exercise we get -its about how we see ourselves.

    Any tips to share?

If you drink Diet soda - stop now. You dont want to be detoxing when you are going through surgery. Find a protein shake you really like and drink it religously - you will be living on liquid for a while after surgery so you want to be prepared. The surgery itself is really not that bad - my only pain was when I first woke up and the pain meds stopped that pretty quickly. The incisions are nothing. Day two was a little rougher. The swallow test they do to check for leaks sucks. The dye you swallow is disgusting and I eventually threw it up. But as hard as I tried not to throw up - even that wasnt horrible. Walking (especially in the hospital) all the time is really helpful - it will really make you feel better. The post op diet is a little rough until you are able to start incorporating actual (although soft) food - I just missed chewing. And you will truely get full after even a couple of ozs of soft foods - but thats why I got the sleeve isnt it - to be full before I ate my body weight in food. But it really is worth it. Im 2 weeks post ops - have lost 28 pounds since starting my pre-ops diet 2 weeks before surgery. I still have a way to go - but I feel stronger and healthier already and I have so many things to look forward to. You really wont regret it - Good luck.
