    My Ongoing Story :)

I talk a lot about my boyfriend, here is a picture of us together from a couple months ago. We get laughed at a lot because of our height difference. He is 6'5

    Show some skin?

Yay! Thank you, I haven't had any children but do have some stretch marks and scars from previous surgeries. That's awesome that your so little without any sagging skin.

    Show some skin?

Just being completely honest here, I wouldn't have guessed you to be any older than 32. You look FABULOUS! Your body looks amazing and I know girls my age including me who would be insanely jealous. I plan to exercise and have a personal trainer because I want to make sure I do this right and try to avoid plastics. Kudos to you and thank you ever so much for sharing!

    Sick of protein shakes

There is also Unjury Unflavored protein. They also have a Chicken Broth powder that you mix with warm water to make protein packed chicken both! If you are tired of the sicky sweet protein powder you may try a fruity one...sometimes a different type of flavor will help. The Nectar Fuzzy Naval is pretty awesome. Good luck!
  5. Where are you going shopping? What Protein and Vitamins are you planning on purchasing? If you don't know, you should do a bit of homework first because some of them are NASTY! There's a list of protein powders that rates them from Excellent down to Terrible. It's in food and Nutrition.

    Show some skin?

That makes me feel SO much better, I was having a mini-panic attack after I saw that girl's blog! You started about 25 pounds lighter than I am starting and our goal weights are very similar along with our heights. I hope I'm as successful as you! Do you have any tricks that helped with the skin? Before plastics you had almost no sagging skin which is my hope for myself. Do you mind me asking how old you are? I'm hoping that since I'm young my skin will "bounce back" somewhat easily.
  7. I'm also on the 19th and have done all my shopping. I got a little bit of everything as far as protein goes. Some sweet (Optimum Gold Mocha Cappuccino and Lean Dessert Chocolate Coconut) a fruity mix (Nectar Fuzzy Naval) a salty mix (Unjury Chicken Broth) and one unflavored mix (Unjury Unflavored) to mix with jello, pudding, soups, etc. I also have lots of Jello for the first week. I bought all my vitamins, most from CelebrateVitamins.com. I'm going to pick up some plain chicken broth (Rachel Ray's Low Sodium), Gas-X Chews and Liquid Tylenol from CVS, I have a lot of low cal, sugar free flavored waters, G2, Vitamin Water, Juice, etc. that I'm going to water down and drink to stay hydrated, and I have some comfy pajamas all picked out. I think that about covers it I'm ready!

    Show some skin?

Holy crap...I hope I don't have that much extra skin but her surgeon did a GREAT job! Plastics may be an option to look into if the loose skin is too bad. We will have to see how it turns out for me. Thank you for sharing!

    My Ongoing Story :)

I'll have to look into that. At first I read it as Biotin spray and was like, "Uh, I don't think so" but Biotine makes much more sense. I'll be careful with the mixing...thanks for the advice! I do feel like I'm ready and I'm super excited!! I ended up ordering Lean Dessert chocolate Coconut Protein powder to replace the others. It has rave reviews and I love Chocolate Coconut bubble tea so here's to hoping it tastes anything like it

    My Ongoing Story :)

Quick update: I tried all of the Protein from Optimum... The mocha cappuccino is killer...it tastes like Starbucks. Yum! The Caramel Toffee Fudge has too much of an after taste for my liking but my mom who hates Protein shakes liked it a lot. The Cake Batter was intolerable for me, just gross. I didn't have my mom try it because there was no point. I'm sending the Caramel and the Cake Batter back tomorrow...ick! I ordered nectar Fuzzy Navel but still need one more tub of protein. I've got a good stock of Jello, diet juice, flavored Water, etc. I'm going on the hunt for another Protein powder to order tonight. I'll let you know what I choose and let you know my thoughts on the unjury when it gets here Thursday.

    Getting closer 12/19/2012

The 19th is a Wednesday, I know because that's my date! Good luck!

    My Ongoing Story :)

Yeah, I met all of my requirements so they just pushed it right through. It seems to be different for everyone...there were no hoops for me to jump through. The surgeon called me the day they got the approval and were willing to schedule literately the NEXT week...like in 6 days. It happened to be finals week so I asked if we could do it the week after which was no problem and I'm all set for next Wednesday.

    My Ongoing Story :)

Awh shucks..thank you He definitely is both a keeper and a sticker. We often argue about which one of us loves the other more. I think it's a tie, but he's definitely a sweetie. He even offered to do my post-op diet with me without having the surgery. I told him that I didn't want him to suffer so he's going to try Atkins. We're pretty good together and I see a pretty long and happy future with him!! Good luck to you and your son on your surgeries! I'm getting really excited :]]]]]]

    My Ongoing Story :)

Alright, today was my nutrition class...very helpful! She went over a lot of things that I already knew but talked about supplements which I didn't know much about. There were a few other people at the class and they were clueless! One lady's surgery is in a week and she didn't know the first thing about it. She didn't even know she had to drink Protein shakes and was complaining! I can't believe you'd be signed up for such a life changing surgery without doing any research. So, my Gold Standard 100% whey Protein by Optimum Nutrition came in the mail today. I have: 5 lbs of Cake Batter flavor 2 lbs of Mocha Cappuccino 2 lbs of Caramel Toffee Fudge I tried the Cake Batter with Water tonight for fun, it'll taste MUCH better the second week when I can have skim milk but it's definitely not bad for being mixed with water. I'll blend some ice with it during the first week and it'll be all good. My unjury chicken broth and Unflavored protein tubs are on their way. I ordered all of my Vitamins except the B-1 (thiamine) because I had a lot of trouble finding a sub-lingual version. (No pills for me for 6 months! My daily meds are going to be a pain but I'll manage) I got Celebrate brand for the vitamins that I could, I read pretty stellar reviews on the taste and quality so I ordered: Multivitamin Chewable in Grape, Mandarin Orange, and Strawberry-pineapple (I'll figure out which I like best and re-order that when I need them) Iron+C 30mg Chewable Grape Calcium Plus 500 Chewable Cherry-Tart They didn't have a chewable or sub-lingual Biotin or B-1 so I ordered this from VitaCost: Nature's Way 1000mg Biotin Lozenges (I've heard they have a yummy fruity flavor) I'll probably call my nutritionist tomorrow about the B-1 and see what she says. I picked out a comfy pair of Joe Boxer Pajamas, am getting liquid Tylenol and Gas-X strips from Walgreens tomorrow then I think I'm about set. My nice boyfriend moved up my SUPER comfy over sized chair from the basement to the living room so I can sleep comfy without trying to maneuver steps. How nice of him (I helped too, it was heavy!) I've got to get some Jello and probably some chicken broth from the store, take 2 more finals, throw one last party, then pre-op then surgery! One more week, I got this

    My Ongoing Story :)

I'm 5'3. Thank you, I'm trying to make sure that I'm prepared. I'm starting to get anxious though, it's hard to imagine another week of waiting but I'm sure I'll get through! Good luck to you and your son with your surgery!!
  16. Ok, so my boyfriend is one of those super tech savvy Mr. Fixit type of people and I had a problem that I went to him with. I wanted to mix powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury flavorless powder into my Jello without there being a weird cloud of powder because the texture makes me sick. So, this is the plan he has come up with: Buy a large remote control car, make the jello in a soda bottle, put the remote control car upside down in the fridge, turn it on, and put the soda bottle horizonatally over the wheels so that it will constantly be moving while hardening and the powder won't settle in one spot. He's crazy, but definitely loves me. I told him to have at it, just make me jello that I can eat.
  17. My doctor didn't give me much info about what Vitamins to take, when to start taking them, etc. All he told me was B12. What do you guys take or what did your doctor tell you to take? Does it have to be a certain form? Any advice would be great!
  18. Beckyyb93

    Vitamins?

PPI? What about the Iron and Biotin? They are both pills...can I not take them right away?
  19. Beckyyb93

    Vitamins?

Do those all taste ok? I'm not too concerned with ones I swallow but I don't want to chew something nasty.
  20. Beckyyb93

    Approved but now NOT SURE

Donny, you look AMAZING! No wonder your getting attention from girls!! You did a total 180, I hope I'm as successful as you. I'm doing the surgery partially for health reasons but mostly superficial...I can't wait to be little again Jessica, read everyone's stories on here...the risks are SO low and the results are wonderful. I'm so excited for my surgery date (19th) that I can barely sleep. I say go for it, avoid the future health problems and look sexy naked! Good luck!!
  21. You are just like me! 110% prepared with everything you could possibly need and super excited. You'll be fine...I'm excited for you, I'm on the 19th and am getting ready! Good luck and congratulations!
  22. That's hilarious, you are just like him! Okay, so his opinions on your ideas.. First off, we don't have any grates in the fridge, it's all glass so unless we could rig your ball a different way or put it in the freezer and just watch it really close to make sure it doesn't freeze (which is a possibility) that won't work. The weasel may work, but what happens when the Jello gets too thick for the ball to move around? The powder may settle a little bit because the ball wouldn't be able to move around but it would still be better than without it because if it did settle it would to a much lesser extent of ickyness.
  23. We haven't tried yet...surgery is in 10 days for me so he's going to make it in about a week and see how it works. I'll take a picture and let you guys know!
  24. So, surgery is right around the corner for me and I'm going to make darn sure I have things that I can stand to eat. I already have the Protein shakes covered but now I'm on the hunt for the best broth. I prefer chicken, but I'd like your input on your top favorite broths to drink. If I can avoid doing things like mixing the ramen packets with Water and tossing the noodles that would be preferable. I'm 100% willing to make homemade broth if you guys have a recipe that rocks I'd love for you to post it! That broth in the hospital is always so tasty but it's sure hard to find something that tastes similar from the grocery store. Thanks a bunch! Edit: Urgh, this is posted in the wrong section...sorry guys I'm new and will figure it out.
  25. I suppose that you could cut open the bottle and let the jello ooze out into a bowl.
