    How did you?

Yep, get that! My surgery is next Wednesday at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis
  2. I also ride, but I ride english and do hunter/jumpers. What I'm looking forward to is placing higher than those skinny girls without skill. It's so political, you won't win unless you look pretty and I can't wait to see the look on those girl's faces when I beat them which I will because I can actually ride versus pay for $100,000 horses and look pretty. So excited!

    How did you?

Well, they are all different quantities. The Jello and waters that I spent $50 on I consider grocery expenses and will only be the first few weeks The chicken broth supplies that I spent $25 on will only last for the first few weeks but again, grocery costs The Protein powders will last me the 6 weeks I need to be on protein supplements The Multivitamins will last me 3 months The Iron and Calcium will only last a month. The b12 and the Biotin will last 2 months. The hair care will last 6 months The gas-x strips and biotene mouth spray along with the tylenol are only for the first few weeks but are really necessities that you should buy! I think that covers it, my monthly expenses are on Vitamins which run roughly $70 a month then when I need to re-purchase hair care it'll be the same cost for another 6 months.

  5. Mine literately taste like candy. I have: Celebrate Multivitamin in Grape, strawberry pineapple, and Mandarin Orange...taste like flinstone Vitamins without any weird powdery after taste. Celebrate Calcium + 500 Cherry Tart which literately taste like a cherry sweet tart...YUM! Celebrate Iron+C 30mg Grape, again pretty yummy with little to no aftertaste. I took a sip of Water after it and had a pleasant grape taste in my mouth For the bi-lingual B-12 mine are just tiny so they dissolve in seconds. I got them from Trader Joes for like $6 I got Nature's Way Biotin 100mg lozenges and I actually had to debate with myself how many I could eat before I'd od on Biotin They are all pretty good and in my opinion affordable.
  6. I know, it's possible. Can we count it as protein? I've heard it's good for your hair maybe it'll stop the thinning!
  7. My doctor told me to bring them to the hospital. Mine are yummy though so I'm hoping I won't have any issues.
  8. Lol, my boyfriend is spoiled. I already have a pretty darn high flexibility level and my rule is I'm willing to try (most) anything once. I cheered and did gymnastics my entire life well until I was too heavy to do it, I fold all the way in half and can comfortably sit in the middle splits and can easily tuck my feet behind my head. I'm not as flexible nor as balanced as I used to be but I'm not bad for being heavy. That's one thing I've been working with my personal trainer to get back.
  9. Haha. It is actually hard to shop in the middle of young and mature. I'd try the Macy's Misses section and see how you do. Kinda depends on your style too...if you like expensive looking things I'd also try discount department stores. If you can find a good specialty thrift store you may have luck. I know we have one here that is half teen designer and half misses designers and I find STELLAR deals there. You just have to find your perfect store. For me it's Plato's Closet but that would be less appropriate for you unless you have a young spirit. My mom shops there with me and we trade clothes but she pulls it off because of her personality. People guess her to be way younger than she is. She wears skinny jeans and uggs at 50...gotta love it! My mom just rocks though, you have to find clothes to match your personality.
  10. Oh no, I hope it doesn't get that way for me. I really have no problem with it and enjoy making my boyfriend happy so I think we'll both be sad if it grosses me out after surgery.
  11. Haha, I know my boyfriend brought it up and we were joking at first but then I figured I'd better ask just to make sure that I don't hurt myself or throw up on him.
  12. So, I have had a lot of problems in the past with dehydration and recently was admitted to the hospital with low potassium. They had me on a heart monitor and had a potassium drip going. Last time I got it checked it was low again and they gave me pills to take that day instead of an iv. Is this something I should be worried about post-op? I didn't mention it to my doctor, just didn't think to say anything. I bought G2 to mix with my water post-op and bought all my vitamins so I should be okay right?

    Low Potassium?

My surgery is next Wednesday. I don't want to cry wolf, I assume he's read over my paperwork.
  14. Beckyyb93

    Low Potassium?

Yeah, I guess I can tell him in my post-op appointment and see if he wants me to take a potassium supplement. We never met after I was approved so we never talked about my past medical history like my 2 HUGE abdominal surgeries where I was cut from hip bone to hip bone when I was younger. I wrote it down on the past medical history sheet we just never discussed it. I'm sure he has read through all of that though and there is nothing to worry about.

10 1/2 month post op! All my nsvs

Yay! I was worried about that but too shy to make a post! Thank you for answering, it eased my mind...I'm really paranoid about skin and hair so sagging or loose skin down there would freak me the heck out.

    Hair loss

I will and sorry about the cross post, I must have confused the two threads. I'll be sure to be super careful with hydration because I've landed myself into the hospital a few times due to that before and don't want to do it again. I also have issues with my Potassium, I may make a separate thread about that and see if anyone has suggestions. Good luck clothes shopping! If you don't find what you are looking for there send me a message and I'll give you some more ideas

10 1/2 month post op! All my nsvs

Ok, your young and I have this really inappropriate question so you don't have to answer if you don't want to but what happens to your uh err girly stuff downstairs when you lose weight? Does it hang funny or does it tighten up and look pretty?

    My Ongoing Story :)

Thank you so much! I'm excited! I will keep you posted

    Hair loss

I've just located you. You have two Nordstrom Rack stores and there is a Neiman Marcus Last Call in San Marcos...don't know how close to you that is. Go to one of those places and have fun!
  20. It kind of depends on your price point. I LOVE Nordstrom Rack, and I think you would have a hay day in there if you happen to have one near you. There's also Neiman Marcus Last Call. These are all the overflow of clothes from the huge expensive department stores at a fraction of the price. My boyfriend's mom who is in her 50's and sounds like is a very similar style to you swears by these stores. They have everything from jeans to dresses to suits to t-shirts and everything in between. Even skin care and shoes. If you don't have one of those let me know but if you do, try taking a look!

    Hair loss

I'm EXTREMELY paranoid about losing my hair...I have long gorgeous spiral curls and it would be devastating to me. I went to my long term hair stylist and we had a chat about it. She has me on the Bosley system for women and I'm going in to see her every month so she can check on it. If the preventative measures don't take care of it then hopefully we can catch it earlier and step up the treatment. I'm also taking Biotin. I'm not accepting the answer that it's just going to happen and I'm going to fight to keep my pretty hair. Sorry, rant but I'm scared :0
  22. Ooh, this is my area of expertise. First question, how old are you and what is your personality like?
  23. I'm looking forward to new clothes...I have managed to wear designer clothes at my current weight which isn't an easy feat but I've always splurged on clothes and shoes. Anyways, I can't wait to fit into my favorite designers for real! When I get rid of my clothes, I'll sell them and easily make $600+ which will help me with my new wardrobe.

    Magical creme or lotion?

Let us know how that goes. I'm confident in getting rid of "new" stretch marks with cremes but I'm a nursing student and as far as your anatomy is concerned I don't buy a creme working on old stretch marks for multiple reasons.

    Magical creme or lotion?

I love Philosophy but they can get spendy. I have a problem with redness and dry skin and Origins has a mushroom line that works wonders. It's literately like magic. My skin is flawless. I've never had acne or anything like that though...just redness. As far as cremes and lotions I'm honestly not sure if the price tag on Philosophy is worth it. I'm going to go with Cetaphil for my skin and hope that works out. I use rose salve for my lips and any super dry ouchy spots and it's also magical. The only way to get rid of old stretch marks that I'm aware of without having any procedures done is by Derma Rolling which is basically using needles to puncture the skin to get collagen production to increase. You have to be careful with any products within 12 hours though. I'm going to hold off and make a decision when I lose some weight and see what my body looks like. If it's really bad then plastics everywhere but my tummy is an option because as far as I'm aware it would be bad to get a tummy tuck then have a baby.
