I don't like the taste of the unjury. Tried the tasteless in my soups and it still had that Protein taste. Not to mention I had lukewarm soup to keep the powder from breaking down with high heat. Yucky! But our taste buds are all so different on this board. Sent from my iPad using VST

IN 5 days! I called the customer service line to check my authorization today....and it said I was Approved and my approval number! Usually I would get a live person to explain where things were. My surgery is on Wednesday the 24th...so to all you Cigna insurers....follow their criteria exactly as outlined for approval. I used my PCP to do my nutritional 3 months of supervised dieting. Coached her on how to do 3 separate clinic notes and the buzz words she needed to mention so that they were highlighted in my clinical picture. My BMI was 38-39. With a long documented history of OA of both knees and severe sleep apnea( diagnosed during my assessment and complaints of loud snoring getting worse as reported by my husband)which showed up with my increased weight. So her recommendation rather clearance letter for the surgery was only one paragraph the said I was a good candidate, had failed multi attempts to maintain any weight loss and that my weight has increased pressure on my knees and further caused my severe apnea. Of course my bariatric surgeon did a good job too...I just did not see his note. So....next week this time I will have joined the ranks of sleepers.. This website I have scoured over many threads and have found it to be quite helpful. Since December I have been lurking and learning..so I am encouraging all my Cigna insurers keep the faith, but document well and follow requirements to the letter. Good luck and hope you will have a great outcome....keep the faith!

ANY APRIL SURGERIES?....

Congratulations! That's awesome! Sent from my iPad using VST -
Are you taking the max dose of your pain meds and are you taking them around the clock and not missing doses? I took my anti-nausea and pain meds on schedule the 1st week and was sleepy most of the time but it helped with my nausea and kept my pain under control. I am an old post op surgery nurse so I know pain management the 1 st week after surgery is important. Also get up and walk around to move your gas out. That really does help. If you think things are not improving......check in with your Dr. Sent from my iPad using VST

I was so tired of just fluids! I had 2 tablespoons of potted meat with 2 crackers. You would have thought I had a filet...it was soon good! What I thought is that I would feel full....but I don't. I even took about 1 oz of Water and still did not feel full....hmmmmm....what's that about? I actually have not had that full feeling sensation since my 1st week of fluids. Any one experience that only 2 weeks after surgery? Sent from my iPad using VST

Started pureed 1 day before I was suppose to :(
ajeeprider replied to ajeeprider's topic in Food and Nutrition
So today should have been my first day of puréed. I have a bullet so overnight I did a whole chicken in my crock pot, deboned it and took the juice and some meet and puréed everything. It looks like wet mush! But it is delicious! I abate two tablespoons which is what my Nut has on my instructions...it hit my tummy like a rock! Ouch! But after 2 mins the discomfort went away and I am satisfied! Yippee!!!!!!!! I can have 4 more servings today. I feel much more normal. Anti, the potted meat and crackers are on my list for this puréed transition given to me by the Nut I have been working with. I just should have waited til today to try puréed. Thanks for the information . Sent from my iPad using VST -

I am losing from my face down....my girls are not as full now...much more comfortable. The last to go for me are my gigantic thighs! That is my historical weight loss pattern I have been yo-yoing so long I don't believe my descent the 100th time around will be any different. Sent from my iPad using VST

3 weeks post op lots of indigestion!
ajeeprider replied to Aubreanna's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am on omprezole and take 40 mg. my reflux just stared kicking up the past 4 days. So I am concerned, but my Dr is not. He said as my swelling decreases with my new tummy the pressure will go down and my reflux should diminish. Although there are some people who continue to experience it. I hope I am not one of those people. It's uncomfortable and makes me feel hungry. Sent from my iPad using VST -
