I felt like all of my appointments, including sleep studies, endoscopies, psychiatric evals, ekgs, so on and so forth that spanned for 3 months was like having a part-time job. LOL. My friend was self-pay and got it done in 2 weeks ........ with only an endoscopy .......... but she paid like $10,000 out of pocket.

HELP Stall i cannot get out of!
Native replied to Mommy sleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey I had a stall like that last almost 6 weeks. I even gained 5 lbs during it. Now all of it and more came off. This is what I did, I increased protein to 100g......cut out protein bars........for whatever reason protein bars and those nut bars were stalling me. I cut out sugar and potatoes, like baked potatoes. I found a protein drink called Lean Body at The Vitamin Shoppe that has 40 grams. Pepperonis and string cheese can up the protein like 10g per slice of large pepperoni and a string cheese. 4 oz of hamburger is 28 grams. Meat sticks are high in protein. If you are truly getting the 100g of protein and water in every day you will have little room for carbs. The potatoes and protein bars don't cut it because at this point our bodies metabolisms adjust to the low food intake.....they are really sensitive to potatoes, crackers and sugar, that will bog it down. Try it for 4 days and see what happens. Also, are you making sure you are moving and not constipated? A good laxitive that is healthy called Swiss Kriss (herbal and gentle will clear you out). -

I haven't ever kept track of my calories or done the my fitness pal or logged my food because I cannot eat over 4 ounces. If I had to guess I am getting anywhere from 800 to 1000 a day. The shake alone is 240.....and I can eat about as much as a crunchy taco, occasionally I can eat two but I am hurting if I do and have to be super hungry. I walk about 1 - 3 miles at a time a few times a week. I am 56 down since 10/18 with a full one month's stall, during which time, I did not meet my protein requirements. Its amazing that malnutrition can cause stalls like that, if I totally believed that then all the starving kids in ethiopia and africa would not be bone thin, however, I did stall out for about a month. -

Over a period of two weeks I upped my protein to 100g and increased the water, I lost 6 lbs in about 10 days and I had stalled for over a month. I found a protein drink at The Vitamin Shoppe by ABB called Pure Pro50 and Lean Body (40). I force myself to get one of those down a day and the rest is from food. Additionally, I have been taking this herb called Moringa mixed with apple juice that is FULL OF NUTRITION you can find it on Amazon. My nails are beginning to grow and get harder and my hair loss is not falling out as much and most importantly I am not dragging (*ss) as much as I was - I had no energy. -
I have lost the same amount since 10/18 - congratulations it feels terrific yeah?

Slow Loser here +---+
Native replied to Fair2bslimLady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost really fast my first month; however, I was walking a mile a day RELIGIOUSLY and I hurt so bad that I could barely get anything down except protein and water was even difficult. Now 4 months later, I can eat food, so on and so forth and I am working to get back to that protein/water prioritizing and walking every day!! When I do all of that ~ the weight falls off. I am over 50 and I was 300 when I had the surgery so now I am slowing down at 52 lbs down but I don't believe the weight loss has to slow, its all about what I am doing with it. HANG IN THERE, take some action and see what happens, reevaluate what you are doing and not doing and find what works for your body. Peace Out and Happy Weight Loss. -

I get the part about taking advantage of the gift of the sleeve and having some passion about all of it when we can and being afraid of that food monster within taking over again at some point!! YES. I am so GLAD I have had the sleeve!! Thanks so much for those of you who are posting that you are still losing after a year!! I hope that happens for me. I cannot each much at one time still at 4 months out. The other day I did get to eat two small tacos and I felt like that was a MASSIVE amount of food, its rare that I can get that much down. I am really working on getting enough protein and water down each day, it really seems to help the weight loss. Thanks everyone for your posts!!
