I had the Lap Band for 2 years and finally couldn't take it. On June 4th, 2012 I had my lap band removed through emergency surgery. I had been woken up from my sleep by my boyfriend because I was vomiting in my sleep. I had to complete classes through Kaiser Permanente in order to get the sleeve done. I finally had surgery on 11/15/2012 and as of today I have lost about 25 to 30 lbs. I seem to gain and lose gain and lose. I am happy that I took this step in my life to become a better and healthier person but it is for sure a learning experience. I would have to say though that my worst fear is having had the revision and not being able to lose weight. My doctor did advise me that revisions do not always work and some patients have a hard time losing weight after a revision. I just hope that I can help beat those odds.
