I tell people that I have had too completely change the way that I look at food, which is absolutely the truth. -
Anyone else tired after eating? I feel as though I need to take a nap after I eat every meal. It doesn't last long, maybe a 20-30 minutes, but man is it annoying.

How soon is TOO SOON for a little alcohol?

I had a drink at 5 weeks out. I had some kind of vodka martini and I was hammered after about half of it. My husband ended up finishing it. I have found that I don't have a "threshold" of a buzz anymore I'm either drunk or I'm not. I get drunk quick and it wears off quick. I tried it at home first also just because I think it is a good idea to try everything at home first if you can just because you dont know how you body is going to react. -

OK, I have my first appt. today. A consult. I know this is something that I want and need to do. I was wondering about any other public service people out there. How long were you off for and what was your partners judgements? There is not a single person on my Dept. who has not seen me struggle with my weight over the last 8 years, I Just need advice on how to approach the subject. As much as I have thought to keep this to myself I don't see how that is possible just due to the fact that I spend 1/3 of my life with these guys and they know me as well if not better than my immediate family. It is a trust issue and in the fire service you need that trust.
