    Ouch!

Sometimes I'm just sitting or laying down & I feel a sharp pain.. It takes my breath away.. I'm not sure if maybe I just got a pocket of air stuck there or what.. Just trying to see if this is ever happened to anyone else?
  4. No.. My doctor makes patients be at a certain goal weight before they will even schedule the surgery. And they weigh you at every appointment leading up to the surgery. If you're even an ounce over your goal weight they reschedule your surgery. On the day of surgery you also have to be at or below goal weight once you're in the hospital gown. If not they will not do the surgery. You're not doing yourself any favors by eating all of that food before your surgery. It is just more weight you will have to lose afterwards. Think twice before you chow down.
  5. So I had my surgery today at noon. I'm sitting in the hospital recovery room. 5 small incisions & I'm on a liquid diet for 2 weeks. Overall, it wasn't too bad. A little bit of gas in my tummy from when they inflated it, but I have been walking & that helps A LOT. Anyone that is pre-op.. It wasn't that bad.. Pain is a 2-3/10. Well worth it. Today is the beginning of my new life!
  6. So I was sleeved yesterday afternoon. I weighed in at the hospital yesterday morning at 241#. I got released home today & stepped on my scale.. 256#?!?!?!?!? Are you kidding me?!?!? The doc said I would have some extra weight from all the IV fluids & gas pumped in to me.. But 15#??? Did anyone else gain this much immediately after surgery? If so, how long did it take you to lose it?

So First you arrive at the hospital and do your paperwork. Then they call you back have you change in to a gown and get weighed. After the weigh in they start an IV on you. The doctor & anesthesiologist come talk to you. After all that someone (usually a nurse) will come get you & walk you to the operating room. They ask you your name & date of birth. Every hospital is different, but they gave me an anti-nausea injection in to my IV, then 2 medicines that put me to sleep. The next thing I remember I was waking up in the recovery room & I was sleeved.

  13. I can't believe today is the day. All my hard work I put in to lose the 40# before surgery has finally paid off. I check in at 10:30, surgery at 12:30. I'm so nervous/scared/excited! Good luck to everyone else who has their surgery today also!
  14. My surgery is in six days. All of my pre-op visits are tomorrow morning. And all of a sudden, it just hit me. This is the craziest thing I've ever done to myself! Although it is to better improve my health, this is still an elective surgery... Has anyone else just all of a sudden been hit with the realization of how huge this decision is? I'm not saying I'm having any second thoughts, because I am not. In fact I'm more excited than I think I've ever been in my whole life. I am just saying, wow. It just hit me, I'm having a life-changing surgery in six days! Craaaaazy!!!

    Got My Date!dec 10Th! Bb

My date is December 10 also.. I think the pre-op diet depends on the facility & the doctor.. Anyone going to a Kaiser in CA that can give me an idea of a pre op diet??
