how long to get to feeling better
cataro replied to oklafarmgal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My energy didn't start to come back until about 2 weeks, then really came back at 3 weeks when I began to eat more solid foods. -
I think (could be completely wrong) it is when you weigh less than 200lbs, ex. 198lbs. Head hunger is when your head tells you to eat, but you don't physically feel the need. For instance, most of the time I get hungry when watching tv, even if I only ate dinner an hour before. Boredom is one of my big triggers of head hunger.

Average calorie intake
cataro replied to Huntingnurse's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm about 8 weeks out and I avg 800 calories a day. I get about 70-80 grams of protien and try to keep carbs under 50. -
I lost no weight for about 10 days right after I hit the 6 week mark. Today I jumped on the scale and was down four pounds since Saturday. Wednesday will be 8 weeks for me. Hang in there, you'll start losing again.

I live about a 100 miles from the border in Texas, and cross over frequently to shop. I always bring both. Sometimes the border agents ask for my passport, some ask for my card. It just depends on the agent. So yes, I would bring your passport.

I dont know how I would have gotten all of my protien in the beginning without my mootopia :-)

It took me about 2weeks to really get my energy back. I could get stuff done, but I was very tired, and napped often.

Water Weight Gain from Surgery: When does it go away?
cataro replied to zoekids's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
It took me about 2 weeks to really lose the water weight. -
My dr told me no pills for the first 4 months, but then cleared me for all of my pills after 6 weeks, including a huge antibiotic (I injured my foot). Go figure.

Ectasy And Cocain Lol

Ok I'm not saying you should do it, but I'm going to assume you are an adult capable of self-determination. If you do decide to do this, do your research first, real research, not asking a bunch of sleevers that may or may not have any concrete experience or advice. One thing to consider, neither drug must be taken orally to "reap the benefits", as it were. -

Oh you bad, bad boy! Hehe, hope you enjoy your night out :-). Personally, red wine sits easier for me. -
I did not lose any significant weigh the first 10 days or so, then it started falling off. Once I was able to start eating more "normal" foods and getting more calories I really began to lose. Hang in there!!

Today I finished my first week of C25k. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I was so surprised to learn I was running a 1/2 mile!

I can't stand them either. Muscle milk seems to go down easy for me so I stick with that. Have you tried putting unflavored protein in puddings or jello? That was a tolerable way for me to get it in as well. -
*Dean*- any recipes you are willing to share?

I was on liquids for 3 weeks. Sometimes I wanted to cheat and eat something more substantial, but I figured better safe than sorry.

My grandmother was thrilled when I said I was having the surgery. She was so excited that I would be thin and pretty again. She also said that she would support me if I chose not to stay with my husband after I was skinny enough to find a better man. I love my husband, he was my best friend for 7 years before we even began dating, and he knew me skinny and fat. He has a very lucrative career, and treats me better than any man before him. I have no intention of ever leaving him. I take my vows seriously. My grandpa, on the other hand, was really upset and scared for me. He said I didn't need it, and that it wasn't worth risking my life for. He supported my choice in the end, but I had to really educate him about it. I much preffered my grandfathers response. Our parents should be concerned and a little apprehensive when we have any type of surgery, whether for emergencies or "elective". I

Texas Gastric Sleeve Surgeons
cataro replied to jennaleigh1992's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I have heard nothing but wonderful things (even from my own surgeon) about Dr. Davis in Houston. -
Thanks for all of your input! It is def going to be a test! I was thinking of having a "practice" meal sometime this week and see how that goes. I guess I only have myself to blame for this, I picked the menu 4 months ago, not thinking ahead to what I could eat. I was also going to tell the bartenders to pour heavy, maybe if I get em drunk they really won't notice, lol!!!

Any advice for eating with people who don't know you have had surgery? Next weekend I am hosting a ladies lunch and I will be expected to eat. The menu is steak, grilled asparagus, scalloped potatoes and a spinach and strawberry salad. As of this Wednesday 1/23 I will be cleared to eat all foods. My question is, how do I "eat" so that they don't notice I'm barely eating? I would prefer to not mention my surgery to these women, as they do love their gossip, and I only see them once a year for this lunch. The lunch is a must-attend, my grandmother hosted them for 20 years before passing the torch to me.
