    Sensitive stomach pre-sleeve

I had a very sensitive stomach preop. If I ate anything my stomach did not like it was going to be coming back up. This is why I chose the sleeve over the lap-band, I didn't want complications from the band slipping. I was sleeved 12/12/12 and have not been nauseous at all, even right after the surgery. I don't know how long this nausea free stage will last as I am still on liquids, but I'll take it.

    Constipation!

    Fiber really has helped me.

    Post op exercise

I was wondering, too. So far I am only walking. I would guess it would be 6-8 weeks for weights since it takes that long for internal stitches to heal.
  4. The first 3 or so hours after the surgery were the worst. Pain was maybe a 7 when I was awake, which wasn't much. By that evening my pain was about a 4, getting better the more I walked. By the next day it was 2-3, even during the nearly four hour car ride home. After that I was just sore, like after working out. The worst is when I forget to get up for a while and walk. My abdominal muscles get stiff and it's hard to stand up straight at first. Not bad, just annoying.

Need Buddies & Mentors feeling alone

I have found more support and resources on here than I ever have for my doc/nut.

    Bad Taste

I have the same thing, it's really annoying.
  7. G2 and Propel zero were life savers right after surgery.
  8. I, too, would persue legal channels after you are feeling better. No one here (as far as I know) is a medical malpractice attorney, and while their opinions are valid, they may be just that, opinions. If nothing else, action on your part may save another of this surgeon's patients and their families from the pain and torment you are experiencing.

    Really freaking out.

Your about to undergo surgery. I think something would be wrong with you if you weren't freaking out. I think we will always have more reservations when the surgery is self-inflicted and "elective" rather than necessary.
  10. I'm so sorry you had to go through that, it sounds awful!

    Pain...

I agree with iggy. I think it's time to get a second opinion. Maybe try another WLS Dr in your area, or in Dallas? This does not seem normal at all. I hope you find the relief and answers your looking for, and have a happy belated holiday.
  12. I used a heating pad on my tummy and it really helped with the gas pain
  13. The first few days are really horrid. The only liquid I could stand to drink was grape flavored crystal light. It took me about 10 days to get in the full amount of liquids needed. Now I'm working on getting both full amounts of protein and liquids. All I can say is get plenty of rest, and use your pain meds. It will get easier!
  14. I did mine in the crock pot. I put the ham and picked over beans in the crockpot and covered the beans with 1/2 chicken broth and 1/2 Water. Then I added some sauteed carrots, onion, and celery. Cooked on high 8 hrs.

Mondy will make two weeks post surgery.

I just made a pot of beans with the leftover ham from Christmas. I put my 1/2 cup of beans and broth in the blender and it was delish! I'm only 16 days out.

    12/12/12 anybody else?

I still have the glue, too. No leg cramps tho. Maybe put some banana in with your protein shake?
  17. From what sleeved friends and people on here have said the restriction is much more noticeable when we start eating more solid foods. I was sleeved 12/12/12 and am having a very easy time with liquids as well. I'm still on liquids, and will be until Jan 3. Yesterday I made a pot of Beans and some leftover ham from Christmas for my hubby. They smelled delicious so I tossed about a 1/4 cup of beans and broth in the blender. I had that while my hubby pigged out. My "soup" was pretty thick with all of the beans and I went very slowly, savoring every bite and making sure all was ok. About halfway thru I did start to feel a little full so I stopped. It was sort of a relief, I have not felt "full" since the surgery.

    Social Anxiety After Weight Loss

Do you have any weight loss support groups in your area? Possibly thru your surgeon or NUT's office? Maybe being around other people dealing with the same issues, and speaking to one another about it can help. It might be comforting to know you are not alone, and it would be a great opportunity to learn new social skills in a small, intimate group.

    eggs

So are we to assume that you reached your pre-surgery weight eating lean Protein and vegetables? I figured this had to be the case since only Americans' can have poor eating habits. Abridgie- maybe you could try it using New Balance buttery spread or a cooking spray?
  20. My doc has me on liquids for 3 weeks. I'm 2 weeks out and an SOOOO over liquids. I've been blending and straining soups as well, just to have a little diversity.

    Bath time post op!

My Dr said no bath for 6 weeks :-( I wish I only had to wait 3 weeks
  23. My Dr doesn't allow anything but liquids for the first 3 weeks to help prevent leaks and let my sleeve heal. Maybe your tummy just needs a little more time.
