  1. I'm Scheduled for March 10th, 2014. Any tips on things to bring that they didn't recommend in their paperwork, Flight issues, pre-op procedure & post-op procedure, things to expect at the hotel....Anything really. I want to know por favor. LOL.

I'm going to try to document everything I can, to help those future VSG patients out there. Thanks.

Just bring basics underwear comfy sweat pants, hygine pack light if you can you are going almost exactly one year after me!

  2. I will be 40 in January, and am hoping to get my sleeve in Dec. I have been saying for a while now that I will not be fat in my 40's, and I am committed to this journey. Let this be the decade I start sporting a bikini! :D

I set this exact same goal...not fat 40 came in jan and I am totally normal bmi 109 lbs....3/14/13 was my surgery day....loving life!

  3. I had my revision surgery on 11-14-2012 after surgery they told me the band removal went fine and they were able to repair a hiatal hernia , that was a surprise to them ( and me ) and sleeve me in one procedure. I was SO relieved to have had it done in once procedure. The day after surgery I started throwing up Water and unable to keep it down . After a couple more tried they ordered an EGD for me . They told me if the scope went through easily then and showed no obstructions I should be fine and not need another surgery , but if it did not I could have excess scar tissue from the band and I could need another surgery . WHAT !! Yikes . So they did it and it showed no obstruction some swelling around the band area ( where the band was ) they told me to take liquids slow . For several days I was still throwing up just water, in fact it freaked me out because it looked like I was throwing up some blood as well. Finally around day 3 or so the water was staying down . So finally I was able to go home today . NOT an easy process that's for sure , but I am glad its over. The doc told me to progress my liquids slowly , as long as I was keeping liquids down I was fine , the minute i started if i did throwing up liquids I needed to come back . But to just take it slow . I have had a couple times i have thrown up since i have been home.

Got some zofran to help me out . Both times it seemed around the same time at night .

Im still on liquids hoping to try some mushy foods on Monday maybe ?

Anyway , that's my story ! I live in Buda was sleeved by Dr Fass !

  4. I don't remember leaving my room I got on a gurney a shot of something and I woke up in my bed out of it with oxygen on I had to pea bad and they helped then I slept off and on all day I walked in circles in my room the first day slept a lot the next day we burned up the hallways I felt some discomfort this day and asked for pain meds twice they made me kind of sick so I sucked it up. I asked for a sleep pill that night and slept most of that night I was having ice and Water the second day I hated it I was ready for day three grape juice and discharge! I had a three hour bumpy ride to san Antonio it was a bit riff but I rested and drank my juice I did not even finish that small amount that day.

  5. Doesn't this seem UNREAL???? I was sleeved Jan. 30th 2013. I was in a size 16 pant and x-lrg shirt that day. I went shopping 3 weeks ago and bought size 6' date=' now they are falling down as I walk, so had to buy a size 4 pant this past weekend along with my size small shirt. It almost made me cry in the dressing room. What an awesome gift we have given ourselves. :D[/quote']

Me too the first time I tryed on clothes I couldn't wrap my head around being a five then I bought 3s and 4s not thinking I could wear them yet but I can Omg so crazy! I think I may lose a few more lbs I cant imagine being smaller!

Oh I started in march at a size 12/large

  6. We were just sleeved by Dr Alvarez in Piedras Negras Mexico on Sept 30. We are extremely pleased with our surgery and the care we received from him and all his staff. They are very efficient and organized. Could not have asked for a smoother experience. Our wait was 3 months' date=' but that was my choice due to my work schedule.[/quote']

I used alvarez no flight because its only four hours away from me in Texas. There are many other surgeons in Mexico with good reputations. It really depends on your lists of wants and needs.
