Derbygirl, my legs feel fine, it's my brain i'm worried about! lol I take some designer supplements before and after workouts. They help with endurance and recovery. They come from a serious powerlifter. He has a lot of product that would be helpful for bandsters. I am trying to get him to tweak some products for us I will post more details tomorrow. I am shutting down early tonight have big project to complete in the morning. JC

Denise, I am sorry to hear that weight loss has stalled. When was your last fill? What are the peak months for whale watching in your area? I have been trying to research on the web but most info comes from guided tours. Believe it or not when it comes to outdoor activities, i'm sometimes a little over the top for those structured tourist type of events. JC

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

This may sound like I am being a smarta$$ but it is true. This past weekend I was excercising and trying to give myself one of those internal pep talks for not riding as far as I felt I should have. I was getting down, then I recalled that it was not long ago that I used to hem haw around about putting on my SHOES!!!!!, because of the effort and the loss of breath from my stomach trying to push my lungs out of the way I also had to grab the hem of my pants leg and heave my leg up (could not cross my legs without help). I now am able to put my shoes on standing up and can actually bend down and tie the laces! My point is you have to start somewhere and two minutes is two more minutes than you were doing and four minutes is twice as much! You are doing great because you are doing something! Keep up the good work. btw all my northern friends could start training to ride your bikes to Florida for the winter. Just a thought! lol JC

Bummed I have been called a fish out of water all my life. When I was a kid if I had to do a book report for school it would revolve around sea life. I started scuba diving as a young adult. I have been paddling boats and things I converted to boats like orange picking bins etc. forever, but just started kayaking last year. I am hooked it is so much better than a canoe and almost as fun as a orange picking bin. I have found that Washington state is a more affordable whale seeing trip than Alaska. I may start there and work my way up. I can't wait to see that bio-luminescent bay. They say the light is bright enough to read a book by. JC

I was going to say I will have to put tire chains on my bike, but since I am in the South it may not be an issue!!! :-) Just have to avoid those pesky lightning bolts for now!! JC

Thanks Lee, you are having great success as well. I think I know what Deanna is trying to say. Sometimes the "off the rack" bikes have poorer riding geometry which can cause aches and pains that are not related to excercise but related to the position the bike forces you in. However, some people actually find the "off the rack" bikes are just fine. Point is, if you continue to feel pain and discomfort and decide that bike riding is your future you might want to look into an upgrade. JC

Thanks Karla, I'll tell ya what, I was getting ready to crawl under that darn X with the lightning banging all around the place. I almost stayed out there too long! I thought that buzzard circling overhead was going to get a fried JC treat. I would sure like to know what the heck shredded that tree. Alot of stuff didn't show-up like the turkey racing me down the road! All-in-all it was a good ride. JC

I learned that with proper motivation I can pedal my new trike 18-20 miles per for a long time! If you lack proper motivation try riding in the middle of a thunderstorm!! I grabbed some cool pics though. Distance 18 miles str8jacket29 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Album name is Green Swamp Van Fleet JC

Karla, I checked out new pics, it looked like you guys had fun. Looks like you inspired others to post what they had as well. btw Your arms would adjust quickly after the first 20 or 30 miles! lol also,There is no doubt Chrispy is blazing a trail! Ashley, I think you might be on to something there. Sounds like fun. Hey Chrispy have you been to Disney before? Well I hope everyone is well. I tried to do a big Sunday afternoon bike ride today. Only made it 18 miles round trip. I need to have my head examined. I should have turned around after about 5 miles because of one big bad thunderstorm! I posted pics on photobucket under album GreenSwamp Van Fleet. str8jacket29 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting JC

    Exercise frequency

OK I dusted off the trike and headed to the James Van Fleet Trail. We refer to it as the Green Swamp Trail. I only made 18 miles and should have only made about 11 or 12 because of thunderstorms in the area. I am talking about a very close call! I posted some cool pics on my photobucket account Green Swamp Van Fleet Album str8jacket29 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

    trying to pick Doctor

Just my 2 cents worth. I was banded by Dr. Ortiz. One of my deciding factors was that one the doctors in my home town, Dr. Lee Grossbard was banded and trained by Dr. Ortiz. I was very happy with the whole experiance. JC
