Way to go Juli! I know you can do it! JC

Hi everyone, I am still sitting around the house healing well. I have never taken this much time off from work, it has been a blessing in disguise. I have been totally focussed on my school work. I did not realize that one of the classes I signed up for was accelerated. Oh well it will be over soon enough. I have not been motivated or enthusiastic about getting on here and sharing lately. It all started before I ended up in the hospital. I have been having trouble with this band for a couple months and struggling with it in the worst way. My focuss has been on trying to figure out what was going wrong. I guess we all know the answer now. My weight loss ticker is still accurate, although I don't know how. I am really down about the struggles. I wanted so badly to be under 220 by now. My biggest fear has now moved from will I lose the band to how much will I gain before being refilled. My Dr. said he wasn't sure how long it would be before we start refilling. He said he is thinking 6 months or a even year!!!!!! I have to say how impressed I am with all of you. ZZ, your b4 after pics are awesome. D, HP, judging from your avatars. WOW just WOW! J, BG, you two are still kicking ass. B, thanks for the well wishes and for making me feel a little better about my OCD. I think you have a decided edge on me in that arena. TX, congrats on the smoking. That is a tough feat. Turler or T, welcome to the insanity. My two cents on the Bike issue. I went to the recumbent for the fact that I could not only ride it longer, but I also recovered from those long rides much faster. This allowed me not only to ride again faster but I was also able to walk sooner without horrible pain. That is just my personal point of view many find hybrids or other types of bikes fit the bill. It is very difficult but you have to search for what is going to work for you. Take care, JC

Manatee, you have knocked off a lot of weight! Congratulations.I would ask your doctor about the climbing. One thing that does come to mind is, you could have the band deflated for the trip. -
I want to bycyle so bad I can't stand it! I have been sitting around this house all week and am about to lose my mind. One more week of full liquids doesn't bother me nearly as much as the fact that I have to take it easy on the exercise until I get a green light from the Doc. I am going to have to postpone the Everglades trip AGAIN!!! I will do these things in order to recover properly. I was just sitting here scratching off the week I had reserved for kayaking and needed to vent. BTW Congrats on the job interview BG I hope it goes well for you.

trmaley, I have been able to SCUBA dive. I have found through experiance that if you want to be comfortable eat well in advance or use a liquid meal replacement like slimfast or a protein shake. -

Thanks BigBaby, I think I lost the stiches last time I got sick. I was overcome with some violent nausea. Hey Denise, my GF isn't quite the go-getter that I am, but then again who the heck is? Sometimes I border on insanity. I am glad I kept the band too and now I have renewed hope that I will have some assistance from it to reach my goal weight. I can't believe I have been able to stay so close to goal with all the fills and un-fills, but here I am plugging away! Thanks again for the well-wishes, JC -

Hi all, thought I would stop by and give a quick little update. Things are still going better than I ever expected with my new GF. Those of you who have followed this thread for a while may remember that I was hospitalized with a slipped stomach several months ago. My doctor and I decided against surgery (there was a chance that I might have lost the band). I have been slowly working on getting back to a proper level of fill for weight loss to occur. Then, last Wednesday night it slipped again I new right away that it was worse than the last time. Morphine could not even stop the pain. I was rushed to Tampa General and into the operating room. The doctor said even though they removed all the saline in the ER my stomach was still purple when he got the camera in there. He noticed that I only had one of the original stiches left in the flap holding the band in place. He cut the stitch, unclamped the band, repositioned it, and stiched the thing into place real good. I am at home now and recovering well from the operation. I am hopeful that I will be able to get back to the process of losing this weight now that I have this issue behind me. Take Care, JC -
BG, something tells me that you would have no problem... uh.... selling your...well...SELF! WOW! lol I must be feeling better! JC

Glad to see you are all having at it, J welcome back! I am feeling much better! It will be nice to have some real food 2 weeks from now.

Hi all, I am home from the hospital and feeling much better. I walked 45 minutes this afternoon. No speed records were set but I was able to get a couple miles in before calling it quits. Thank God this is my last day on clear liquids. Tomorrow I start full liquids for the next two weeks, maybe I will get a chance to move the ticker soon. Thank you for all the well wishes. I am going to try to get comfortable and watch the Football game. Beer is a clear liquid right? (Kidding) JC

hey everyone I got the phone charged up. Well I had a slip. The Doctor said my stomach was purple when they got in there to take a look. He said only one of the original stiches was in the flap that holds the band in place and that was letting it move around. In the OR they unclipped the band repositioned my stomach reclipped it and stiched it back in real good. I should be released tomorrow morning. I have had a room to myself until tonight. There is guy in the bed next to me and he has been the most demanding loud mouthed pain in the ass I have ever been around. At least I only have a few more hours of this to put up with.

Just got out of sugery, everything is fine they did an emergency repair. I would go into detail but my b attery is almost dead. Pain meds are working great. Tampa General rocks! By all, JC

Hi everyone, I had another episode with my bullsh*t band two nights ago. I did not even heave just pushed the stuck material out and now I am so damn sore I can barely breathe. Printed out the map to Tampa General for my GF and wrote down all the important code words for the admitting staff then it eased up. I am feeling better at this moment but I fear that it is only temporary. Hindsight is a B*tch, I should have let the surgeon go in and fix or remove the thing. $%#$%#$% %^&^%& #$#$#$ #$#$!#$ &&&^&*$@@ #$$^T%$^%&$^&!!!!!!!!! Hope eveyone else is well. Sounds like some of you are still kicking big time Ass! JC

Quick note. Happy Tuesday everyone. If all goes well my GF and I will start couch 2 5k tonight! Not much free time right now, I signed up for a couple classes at the community college and work is ..... well..... just work. JtoodamnbusyC

I'm with BG on this one you dang Texans with your perfect weather I had to suffer through a FREEZING 73 degrees today! God, some people have it too good! HP, I think a challenge like that is a good motivator, but I wouldn't give him more than a 5 pound lead. Men tend to drop weight faster than Women.

Hey Guys, just wanted to check in for a few seconds. My new GF and I are still going strong. Work is horrible. I am right now finishing up an 18 hour work day! I hope everyone had a Good Christmas and New Year. I also hope John is recovering well. I had to postpone my 100 mile Everglades kayaking adventure until spring break. That darn work thing seems to keep getting in the way. I am still training as if I were going next week though. I am sorry to cut it short and be so generic with my post but I have to get some sleep as I am on call today. Will check back in when work settles down a bit. JC -
Thanks for the info B, I am seriously considering going the HRM route. As for the IVR I have now on my 31st attempt since 5:01 pm made it further down the installation path than any of my previous attempts. I think I have tired my adversary out and it is only a small matter of time before I am the victor. Then of course I have to put the 4 PCs back together since I had to gut that many to get enough working parts for a right proper assault. What a day 7:00 am Friday - 2:00 am Saturday = no bike ride for me today.
-
B, sorry to hear that Grumpy isn't well. I am in IVR hell right now! This is a homebrewed freaking three Dialogic ISA card having gamma fax infested son of Tubby the last effing dinosaur to walk this planet. Complete with NT4.0 service pack4. UGGGGGHHHHHH! BTW, which model Polar are you using? Are you happy with it or would have rather purchased a different model? I ask because the HRM is new to me, but the reporting that you posted has me tweaked.
-
BG!?!!!!, I am so disappointed, only a drawer full!?! WTF? LOL
-
Haven't tried the magic bullet in the bedroom yet, HMMMMMmmmm!
-
Thinking about buying a Heart Rate Monitor after seeing that report that B was able to post.
-
I mix Soy "Milk" with Goat Whey in my cool new Magic Bullet that my GF gave me for Christmas
-
You know what they say, Lacoochee, where the men are men and the goats are nervous! LOL Really, you should look into it, the stuff digests better than bovine whey and egg whey is so freaking expensive.
