HP thanks, how are the puppies? JC

Ok, I have vented thrown my little temper tantrum and sat in the corner pouting while sucking my thumb; I'm over it, time to get down to business. Long insane bike rides are temporarily suspended. Shorter rides 50 miles or less are not, jogging is still on the table and I'm thhinking about raising the bar. We have a giant High school football stadium. I am going to start jogging up and down the steps there on top of my typical routine. How Bout That? JC

PigsRFlying, I got sick, I am not real sure what caused it but there was some violent vommiting going on. I am a very strong person, I just need to be reminded from time to time thanks. How are you feeling? Leona Thanks, it really sounds like you have some exiting things on your horizon! Carla , thank you, I love giving and recieving prayers! I will keep everyone posted. I am trying to figure out how to shoehorn more exercise in, Doc told me to start adding solid foods into my diet to see how I react. Derbygirl, I'm a computer network administrator/Engineer. (Nerd/Geek) lol I self paid in Mexico. The surgeon I am working with is in Tampa, which is only about 35 miles away. I am feeling good and upbeat right now, it is amazing how just getting that stuff off your chest helps. JC -
Hi everyone and thank you for the support. I guess this is a huge TEST for me, I just got all the supplies I need for that big ass bike ride, however my surgery date will conflict. I am one stuborn, determined and driven person. So I imediatley started planning an Intrastate ride that I could do in the next few weeks. Then yesterday I get a phone call that my Department Head is in the hospital with a very serious condition. I will give you one guess who fills in when he is absent. I wonder why I always have so much vacation time banked up? So to sum it up I have no restriction, require surgery, personal/business life is seriously limiting my excercise and there is no end in site. I am lucky to have these broad shoulders, I just wish they did not reqiure so much load testing. JC

Chrispy, I had 5.5 cc this last time. I have had as much as 8.5 in the past and think that is where my trouble began. It is difficult for me to see myself as an inspiration, because I feel so inspired by you and a few others on this site. JC -

The fluro is the x-ray machine, but I think it has "become" a term for a barium swallow. MY BIG FAT OPINION HERE! Everyone should do a barium swallow the first time out. The reason is that some people, myself included have low sensitivity in their stomach, it has caused me problems. I can have liquids backed-up almost to the top of my throat and not feel it. So I can take sips and swallows while having saline added and not realize I am being overfilled with no way of knowing without a barium swallow. Hi I everyone and thank you for the support. Thank you, April. You are lucky to have found this thread, there are some great people on here! JC -
Hey D, thanks for the chat, it feels good to vent. I have to get a little sleep the alarm clock is going to go off in about 4 hours. I am helping my son with his Eagle Scout Project. JC

He went over the results of the barium study they did before I was released. You can see it, it is not exactly where it used to be. The pre-op stuff s blood work o2 etc. before he goes in and goes fishing. All bets may be off before that date I have a low grade fever right now. I don't know what it all means I went numb when he was talking to me. I should of had someone in there with me I can be a real dumbass sometimes.
-
I haven't talked to her yet. I am going to try to get her to pry a little more info. He really looked like he was restraining himself from saying something. I gotta figure out what the hell I am going to do. It is not a done deal and I'm not into feeling sorry for myself. I can tell you this, right now at this moment I feel completly LOST!

Hi everyone, here is the scoop, There is a problem, I go in for pre-op stuff Sept, 5. Doc said he will try to fix it first, but he may have to remove. I may have been reading him wrong but he knows my sister, she works there, he looked like he just ran over someones puppy and was having a hard time looking me in the eyes. I am, among other things exhausted. I will be gone all day tomorrow and will check back in on Sunday. Hey Manatee, this is why I plan insane long distance bike rides and go jogging in lightning storms!! :-) JC -

DerbyGirl, thank you, I have been telling my self the same thing. I kinda find it hard to convince myself. On the upside, I have everything I need for the monster bike ride. The hammock tent which is so comfortable, the maps some of the best maps I have seen aside from the Government quad maps I used to use while surveying, gel pack nourishment, GPS, MP3 player... oh and a sadistic brain (it helps!) It will be a 5 state ride if I make the entire distance. BTW I jogged 4 miles yesterday!!!!!! That is HUGE for me! I am down another 2 pounds so I am almost back down to where I was when released from the hospital. JC -
D, way to go!!!! Half way there!!! It will probably be around 9:00 pm eastern time before I can get to a computer to send an update. Unless they admit me tomorrow for further surgery, I will have my sister smuggle my laptop into the hospital. I will get an internet connection from there if I have to shell out through someones cell phone. JC

D, there you go, kick that nasty tasting cake's ASS. I know in the past I have pigged out on some stuff that I hated. Now since I have had a few things get stuck, I don't crave certain foods even if I love the taste. I guess it is the whole Pavlov's dog thing, but I have begun to associate negative feelings toward certain foods. I sure hope I never get over that! Hope you recover quickly! There is bike riding to do!!!!!!! JC

DerbyGirl, my son is fixing up a preschool playground for his project. Do they serve tequilla at Chuck E. Cheese? LOL Thanks everyone for the recipes and well wishes. Chrispy, thanks for the prayers I will take all of them I can get, you are a sweetheart, I mean it. I think the whole tough guy thing has given way to fear/nerves. I know I can handle anything that comes my way I have proven it too many times in the past, but I am spooked right now. Maybe I am not busy enough and have had too much time to think about things. I keep telling myself, I am not feeling pain, no longer throwing-up, no fever, which seems to indicate that I am fine and should not require any further intervention. If it wasn't for that (should) word........... JC -
D, I meant to ask: 1. What the heck is a lettuce wrap? It sounds good. Then again an old boot sounds good right now. 2. Does it ever get stuck? I seem to have trouble with leafy stuff when I have a fill. JC
-
J, I am glad to hear you guys are having fun. I bet the tandem thing was a site until you two got it worked out! Sorry to disappoint but the search for boobies continues! LOL BG, I'm sorry you caught my insomnia. Even on a good day I am lucky to get 5 hours sleep. I just can't seem to get my stupid brain to stop and rest. JC

I think if you had a small square and didn't care for it that is a victory. In the past I myself have devoured somethink like that even though it wasn't the taste I was looking for, I probably would have chugged a gallon of milk with it as well. Congrats on the long ride. I have got to make some time to ride. I hope Sunday will be the day. JC

D, HP, BG, Thanks for the support and well wishes. I was typing this up and it appears it has vanished. D, I was thinking he was pulling a Margarita bar! Congrats it seems you kicked it at the bday party! BG, great ride way to go! Slackaction, if you get your bike close to a wall, you can lean your shoulder up against the walland practice clicking in and out of the new pedals HP, Idont know what the temp/heat index was but it felt like BROIL! I did manage to knock off 4 miles today with the temp I feel it was worth 10 miles JC

Dr Appointment = FRIDAY!!! I have mixed emotions about going, but I have made up my mind that I am going to deal with it no matter what the outcome. JC

HP, hang in there. It is so hot down here that I have had to cut both of my workouts short this week due to massive dehydration. Keep in mind a gallon of water = 8 pounds so if your body is holding more water in order to cope with the higher temps, you're only looking at an extra half gallon to equal the 4 pounds. There are other factors muscle building etc. At the same time I don't think there are many people here who are satisfied with these justifications, at least I am not completely. I try my best to focus on size lost how I feel ... it is just very difficult. My weight shot up 11 pounds as of Sunday night! I started jogging again because I could not take watching those numbers going up, as of today I have knocked 6 of them back off. I guess I am one of those people that just has to excercise on a regular basis. JC
