New year ... new start. Im looking for help/guidance. Had surgery in Nov 2012. I weighed 289 day of surgery. Got down to as far as 214 lb and then just hit a plateau. Which I was fine with. I did more than I ever did. Loved to exercise to relieve the stress of eating etc... Then I was injured couldn't exercise as much. Starting getting depressed and making bad eating choices again. Now Im up to 235 lb. I started back with kick boxing but started getting dizzy and very out of breathe. I figured I had been out of the game for awhile and thought I was just out of shape. I went to get a full work up and physical. Discovered that my B12, Iron and white blood counts were very low and therefore making me extremely anemic. Had to get a few iron infusions done. Dr told me I could resume workouts until levels were up. Levels are still where they need to be... taking vitamin D and b12 supplements now. Dr told me my metabolism is very low and therefore not burning off calories like it normally would. Im feeling at a loss. I want to be back at where I was. Finding it hard to get motivated. Anyone else have a similar experience???

I was taking just a regular multi-vitamin

It's been 3 1/2 months since my surgery and I have finally hit 50 lbs down. I have to say that out if all the weight loss diets and all I am the most proud of this accomplishment. It's been a difficult road and to finally lose this weight is great. Still have quite a ways to go but it's fantastic. Pre Op: 298lb / Surgery Day: 288lb / Week 1: 278lbs / Week 2: 267.5lbs / Week4: 263.7lbs.

It gets easy. Hang in there. I think there is not one person Who probably felt the same way days after surgery. It's a trial and error type of thing. I ate the riccotta bake... Which is a recipe that has been talked about a lot on this site.... It was good but came right back up. Think it was much to heavy still. I can eat egg salad. Thick Soup. Mashed potatoes. I still have a hard time with drinking. I'm so used to drinking all day at my speed that is hard to slow down. Pre Op: 298lb / Surgery Day: 288lb / Week 1: 278lbs / Week 2: 267.5lbs

You haven't started purée yet? Weighed myself today... 267.5. So 20.5 lbs down since surgery. Pre Op: 298lb / Surgery Day: 288lb / Week 1: 278lbs

Intoxicant: I didn't end up taking it. I'm ending week 3 and I haven't weighed myself since the first week. Friends and family are saying they already see a difference, but I don't. I don't own a scale and i am tempted to go out and buy one but I don't want to weigh myself daily. How are you doing? Pre Op: 298lb / Surgery Day: 288lb / Week 1: 278lbs

Nov Sleevers... What's Your Status?
Mom2mgaj replied to Yasmine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Weight 298 Pre op 284 Week 1: 278 Sleeve date 11/26 So I am 1 week post op. I went in for my appt today and I had only been down 6 lbs. I still feel a bit swollen. But non the less still disappointed. I came home and it was eating me up then I realized Ii must have weighed more because of the holiday weekend. Not that I am proud but I look at my discharge papers and sure enough I weighed 288 that morning. So really my pre op was 288. So I lost 10 lbs in one week. I'm doing thicker liquids this week, but I am constantly thinking of food. Please tell me this goes away. -
6 Days Post-Op... So Many Questions?
Mom2mgaj posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't realize how many questions I would have until I read some threads. I also had so many reservations after the 1 st day because of all the pain from my chest and the gas. It has eased day by day. I also I'm being tricked by hunger pains, but know its in my head. I'm finding it very difficult to get in all the fluids and Protein. All the fruity Protein Drinks are so sweet and not great tasting. I used to really only drink Water. My post up check up is o. Tuesday. What is wrong with having a piece of chocolate now and then? What about wine? Not that I am looking to drink now, but I did like an occasional glass here and there? Does anyone drink Muscle Milk Light? WLS: 11/26/12. Weight before surgery: 284lb I love this site. Sandy -
6 Days Post-Op... So Many Questions?
Mom2mgaj replied to Mom2mgaj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you all for the helpful hints. Tonight I started drinking some muscle milk light because I didn't / couldn't stomach drinking the awful cytomax Protein Drink. It satisfied me and so far so good. I'm grateful there are so many of you that I can go through this journey with. I have not told many people except for immediate family. I just don't need the questions etc. -
