16 pounds down!! woo hoo! The scale this morning has made this liquid diet worth it. After this weekend I will be on the losers bench:-)

I just went to a class and registered at the hosptial and got a little freaked out when I found out I was going to have a drain put I . I have heard mixed feelings from people on youtube about it and I also heard not every doctor does it so I was hoping mine didnt. I was all over the place by the time I left.. im much better now ..still scared but im going to leave it in gods hands. Monday is the day.

From what I understood today its something they put in during surgery to later test if there is a leak in your stomach after surgery...but. not all drs do this. -

I have to admit the same thoughts have crossed my mind and when I start to worry about it I just remember that I already have a plan in place to do something about it and then it's just taking it one day at a time. I already have some apps and stuff on my phone to help me with my workouts and keeping track of my eating and as long as I'm doing what I'm supposed to I'm going to do my best not to worry about the end result. Make small goals along the way and I'm sure that will help as well. You got it girl:-) -

It's great to hear your doing good! From what I heard the weight gain after surgery is usually due to all the fluids they give you. Please Continue to keep us posted...you are the losers bench now:-) -
Today I go in to register at the hospital and go to a class. Its all coming together:-) I'm so ready for it to happen. I'm feeling a little low energy on day 8 of this liquid diet so I'm ready to get this going

Yes, I've been cooking meals here and there too. The first few days was the hardest because I wanted to taste what I was cooking, but after that it's gotten better. My boyfriend has been helping with the cooking duties too which helps a great deal. I'm able to have one salad a day so I save that salad for dinner so I can eat/chew something as the rest of the family eats. -

I'm on day 8 of my liquid diet and I feel so much better today then I did the first day. This really tests your strength and will power ..it truly is mind over matter. I have to also say that this website and the people in it have been such a great help. Have a great day everyone! 12/17/2012 is the day!

Hi, I'm on the 17th as well. I'm drinking he Optifast and Protein Premiere. I think I may go to walmart though and check out there options. I'm down 10 pounds so far and I started my pre-op diet on 12/5. Best of luck to everyone:-) -

I had the same issue. I am changing the insurance providers in Jan. I had my initial appointment with the surgeon 11/19 and explained my situation and he said I should be able to get everything done to get it completed before the end of the year. I had to make numerous call backs to make sure everything was moving along, but I now have a date for 12/17 and I will just have to worry about follow up appointment coverae and prescriptions, but I should be fine:-)I wish you luck! Talk to you doctor though and let him know your situation. You'd be suprised how much they will try and help you. -

I was initially told I would need to do a 10 day liquid diet and then when I went to my pre-op appointment the doctor wanted me to start the liquid diet right away which was 3 days earlier. Today is day 7 for me. I am having Optifast meal replacements for breakfast and lunch with a sensible dinner which I've chosen to have salad with a little protein daily. -

Today was so much better than day one of my liquid diet..whew. December 17th can't come soon enough. This liquid diet is teaching me to take this one day at a time.

I'm on day 2 and cooking for the family. You are right everything smells delicious. I am able to have a salad for dinner so I just make sure to wait until they starting what I've cooked for me to eat my salad. It's not the same, but at least its something:-) Good Luck! -
