SeriouslyChange replied to Eclectic82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A full blown feeding disorder. Not sure what a "feeding disorder" is for adults but as I stated before chewing and spitting out is a symptom of bulimia, an eating disorder. No one is patting her on the back and telling her that throwing up is okay. No where did ANYONE say that. The only person that has made reference to this "feeding (?) disorder" is you. You are right, this is a public forum. And as such, the majority has stated that they don't agree with what you said. And that it is cruel on top of that. -

Telling her that she needs immediate help for bulimia is not correct either, Though chewing and spitting out are a symptom. I follow my doctors orders to a T, and I have the guilty pleasure of smelling food and wanting to watch people eat it. Do I crave it? Not really. But just seeing the enjoyment others get from eating does something for me I guess. Am I in "dire need of counseling" no. Everyone has their own way of dealing with the loss of food. I understand the temptation part, my room mate is constantly eating quesadillas, chips, ice cream, fast food, right in front of me. I just always want to know what it is and then Take a deep breath lol. I understand that you went through a tough time with a leak and I'm sorry to hear that. But, you can't give everyone tough love. Not everyone wants that. This thread was called "confessions" not "I made a mistake, beat me up about it to put me on the right track". Some people specifically request tough love and no one seems to give it to them as harshly as to the people who request nothing. We should all be supporting each other not belittling. Everyone will make mistakes as that is part of the learning process. -

If I'm not mistaken, I believe lortab has 7% alcohol. However, the 500mg acetaminophen is super harsh on your liver as it is. Combining that with the 7% alcohol content is really putting a lot of pressure on your liver. Given that a lot of people are drink lortab multiple times a day, you don't want to add anything extra that would stress your liver out even more

Anyone else get cold really easy since the surgery?
SeriouslyChange replied to elisa's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's because you're loosing all that insulation lol. It's a good thing no matter how much it sucks at the moment -
I understood what you were saying but I agree with everyone else about the spelling. Anyways, you gain weight from the IV that they put in you, but it should go away. Walk as much as you can and try to sip on Water, Protein, and liquids throughout the day. It's so hard to drink water the first few days (I was there lol) but just keep trying. Maybe sugar free Popsicles and sugar free Jello might help as well. Good luck! And don't be afraid to ask for help on here when you need it. Somethings seem stupid but most likely someone has been through it : )

SeriouslyChange replied to Lauren610's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My fitness pal is what I use. You can even scan the items barcode and it will pop up and you can add it into your food. It's awesome -

Don't beat yourself up over it. Just be careful of your choices in the future. -
Is salt to be avoided? I ask because I want a lime with salt. But also, it's the first seasoning I'll be adding to my food since surgery.

Cyanocobalamin is one of the worst types of B12 for the body. Sure' date=' it's what doctors inject into you, but your body has a hard time using it and you need a higher dosage. Methylcobalamin is the best type of over the counter B12. Read this article: [url']http://m.naturalnews.com/news/027045_vitamin_B12_cyanocobalamin_methylcobalamin.html[/url] Gastric bypass patients have a lot more problems with Vitamins than sleeve patients do as their intestines were bypassed, and ours were not. -
Vitamins after gastric sleeve
SeriouslyChange replied to melissamass's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Kaiser won't give us B12 shots. As they are either weekly or monthly, in the long run you get less B12 than if you were to take it sublingual. The sleeve doesn't change your anatomy or how you absorb vitamins. Only RNY does that as they bypass. -
It is available for iPhone Thanks!

Can't hardly "eat" anything
SeriouslyChange replied to Angelap's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Pre-made ones help. A lot of people swear by costco premier shakes. You need to find something that you like. As my NUT told me, if you don't like it, you won't drink it. -
GERD with sleeve a problem?
SeriouslyChange replied to Jessica9190's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will say that I have never experienced heartburn in my life until I got the sleeve. Now certain things make me "burn" Ask your surgeon as he would know best. Usually they prescribe something to help with that though. Plus the weight loss helps with the symptoms. -

Yeah, I'm just scared I'm eating too much. But I guess it's okay. Portions are small which is good. Works great, more exercise lol. What're you eating? Like, what's your favorite? -
What should I expect at the 3 week post op checkup?
SeriouslyChange replied to TallGirl300's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As long as you haven't gained, you're good. -
Bread and tortillas at slider foods so they won't fill you for long causing you to eat more and possibly gain. I think you can start them about a month or 2 out. Though I am not sure, I am part of the group that won't go near bread or tortillas anymore.

Good, I'm back at work so it's almost as though nothing happened. I'm suppose to get my period in a week or so so I'm not looking forward to that. How's your exercise? -
