I feel the exact same way. I look in the mirror and all I see is flab. The guy I'm dating tells me I'm beautiful and that it isn't as bad as I make it out to be but i don't believe him. I'm soft and squishy.

Struggling Eating Meat, HELP!
SeriouslyChange replied to SleeveandRNYchica's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some people end up not being able to tolerate steak. My nut spoke for a while about this. Just like some become lactose intolerant, some struggle with meats. I'd say, stick to fish, and live with it. Your sleeve has spoken -
I've only tried the muscle milk 100 calorie shakes. They have a good Protein to calorie ratio chocolate is amazing!

Do you have the black cardigan available? I'll take it! -
I can't throw up. Even if I'm sick, I'll dry heave and spit will come out, but not the actual object that my body wishes to expel. Is it because of the sleeve shape that I have issues throwing up? Last night I ate something bad. I'm not sure what it could have been to be honest, maybe too much ceviche? I got the bubbly feeling and ran to the rest room. I heaved... Nothing. Heaved... Nothing. Dry heaving really hurt and made me feel even sicker. But nothing would come out and I ended up just being sick and now it's coming out the other end. Anyone have this issue? I just don't like feeling sick and think its so strange that I can't puke anything up...

Borderline Bmi 41.3 and Kaiser
SeriouslyChange replied to RebecaSparkles's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm great! I went into the surgery really really scared, but I'm now at... Almost 4 months and I haven't had any complications. I eat small amounts, restriction is still great, and I have noticed a change. Hopefully when I start working out, my weight loss will pick up, but I'm still happy to lose even a few pounds a week. Preop class is intense lol. Ask any and all questions. Seriously. I asked random questions during mine and got all the answers I needed. Others kept quiet but don't be shy! -

Popsicles ?!

You may be having an allergic reaction to the surgical tape if its your incisions that itch or a side effect from the Medicine if its your body that itches. -

Oh no... Getting Sleeved while on my period
SeriouslyChange replied to Bree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm from California. The initial meeting with my surgeon, he went over whether the sleeve or bypass would be best, answered some questions, and calculated my goal weight. He told me that I would get down to at least 200 with the sleeve, 175 with bypass. Obviously I can lose more, he said I would have to put in some effort but it was doable. But that I should be prepared to lose 100 pounds and be happy. And I am truly okay with getting to just 200. I told him my goal was 175. I've been 175 before, and while I would still have a gut and be overweight, I thought I looked very sexy at 175-200. Just have realistic goals. Some people may lose 200, some 100. Just be okay with losing 65-75% of your extra weight. Ask anything and everything to your surgeon. Any fear you have. He'll answer everything. Do you also have to go through classes? Or what's the process up there? -
Kind of TMI topic but here goes: I think I have a problem "downstairs" Had sex with my partner 4 days ago. We use condoms so no issues there. I am now itchy down there. It burns when I pee. It hurts when I wipe. It could be because I was a bit aggressive when checking and spreading down there. I was convinced for a minute that my partner gave me something, he got himself checked, nothing. My gyno isn't free till Friday. I'm freaking out. I've read a few ladies get UTIs after getting sleeved. Can anyone tell me symptoms or signs of a UTI or yeast infection?

Oh no... Getting Sleeved while on my period
SeriouslyChange replied to Bree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was scared too to be honest. And it has had many bumps. My highest weight was 330. To be at 240 means I've lost 90 pounds from my highest. That amazes me. The sleeve has truly changed my life. Sure, I tend to pms and eat like no other, not as bad as it sounds, but I'm still losing. It makes me happy to have more energy. And my body doesn't hurt as much. Which is the too best thing hands down. My feet are thanking me for the weight loss. It took me about 6-7 months to woman up and go through with everything. The process may be long, but just remember your goal. I never thought I'd get sleeved. I would binge, gain 5, and tell myself that I would never hit my goal weight. But I did. And you'll be on this side with us soon Just keep your head in the game! -
Oh no... Getting Sleeved while on my period
SeriouslyChange replied to Bree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm about 3 months out and 60 pounds down. I'm loosing a bit slower than I would have thought, but I figure my skin would thank me later lol. Plus I don't really exercise at all... So that could explain why I'm not losing faster. -

I am an apple shape and carry most of my weight in my abdomen. I went into surgery at 302. I couldn't bend forward to save my life. Even if your surgeon doesn't require it, I'd recommend taking milk of magnesia the day before if you're permitted (ask to be sure) I didn't have a BM for about 5-7 days post op. and I was able to wipe myself at that point lol. I was fine to wipe by day... 3. At that point even if it hurt I would do it as I needed to dry myself. My first shower post op was HEAVEN!!!! -

I wish I would have had one of those nurses lol. Mine barely touched me and I still felt a bit wet afterwards.
