Does more restriction on liquids occur further out?
Tawnie replied to mikeross's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! That is weird. I did not experience this. I would LOVE to gulp Water but if I do get some strange feeling and feels like coming back up. I could only have warm but sure others could have cold. I struggled for 2 weeks to even get fluids in. If you feel this way now be careful. Why are you gulping? Remember to think about your food/drink and really taste it. I have really had to work hard at tasting food and enjoying the flavor vs. the amount. Before you know it.... May come back up Good luck and slow down. This journey is a mental ride to break our relationship with good . -

I love this MrsGina. Yes, you will be great and it will all be worth it. You can see by the hundreds of people on here just like you! All of your comments are so true and so good for others to hear. If I had done this alone a few weeks ago without this site, I would have been a mess. Everything is similar to peeps experiences. Good Luck MrsGina, but I am doubtful you will need it

New on here. Surgery on Feb. 11.
Tawnie replied to michelle38's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yep, perfectly normal. I was excited until the day of surgery, then for 2 days thought, what the heck have I done. Now 3 weeks out and feeling very confident I have done the best thing. I go to see my sister in Florida in a week, now that has me worried. I have been in this bubble for a few weeks and support like crazy at work. Being with the kids and my sisters, I may struggle, but I KNOW I will do find in the end. Best of luck ladies.....you will do great -
congrats! I am only 3 weeks out and down about 19 lbs, feels good. Feels good to feel good doesnt it? I have not regrets, yet. I am sure once I get used to the routine and the mental part of my love and desire for food, I will be all the more happy! Congrats thus far!

What did the first week after hospital discharge look like for you?
Tawnie replied to roxannez's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! Just finished week two. I walked a lot. Took a good deal of time to focus on fluids and Protein requirements. I did work from home 4 hours each day. I had too! Was loosing my mind. The mental piece comes into play because I was so used to eating when bored. No one was home but the pups! So take time to reflect on what you want a year from now ...... I am back full time today and other than structured meal time doing and feeling great! -
Day 3 post op: HELP!
Tawnie replied to Ohitsmorgan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes to all! I am 13 days out. Pain meds made my belly worse ! I switched to aleve day 2. Walk walk walk and gasx! 3-5 days before gas passes or absorbed. Mine was about 5. Don't worry....all normal. Drink warm fluids , pace, and sleep will come. Some sleep most of day I think I went with little sleep for days. It does get better. Do not worry. Good luck! -
Hi guys. It is all mental. Spread it out all day! Every few hours. You will think it is horrible and will wonder if u can pull off post op diet. You can and will! Pouch will be smaller. I still get Hungary but because eating slower and tasting food I am satisfied earlier. Ocharleys with Soup yesterday as hubby had salad steak and potatoes! Felt a longing for my fried chicken salad but 1/2 into my chicken soup all was forgotten. Just liked feeling normal going for meal! Good luck. You will all do great!

I love my treadmill. Weather is iffy and when below 30 degreas I hate being outside. Dogs get their walk but not enough for calorie burn doc wants. I have SOLE equipment. Like precor more expensive but is commercial grade. Had mine for several years but I love having it. Used it before surgery 4days a week. Just ate more than I walked! Ha!
-
Yum! Thanks traci I will try them
-
Pain meds made me nauseous so I only tried that twice. Gasx and a lot of paths down my hall first 4 days. Weather improved for outdoor walk on 5th day and it helped a good deal as I was out about 20-25 mins. Everyone is different I am sure. Doc says 3/5 days for most gas to be absorbed or released Good luck! Gets much better.....
