PCP almost didn't clear me!
TxDumplin replied to Crkrjax76's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Glad he gave you clearance. You will get pre-op testing done a few days before surgery to make sure you are good to go. That should include a ekg and blood work. -
Good question...I wonder that myself?

Does your stomach ever growl?
TxDumplin replied to Kcarr1120's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Yes and it hurts when it growls...like waves of pain. -

Thanks for sharing that info. Do you know about how many calories you get? How many ounces do you eat each meal? -

How many calories, carbs and protein grams are each of you getting a day. I need to change something up cause the scale is not moving...grrrr! REM, yes please share what you are eating and how much. Your loss is amazing! -
I've read that it stretches your pouch?...but i'm really confused about that because if you have two outlets in your pouch...how can it stretch? So many conflicting articles on carbonated drinks!

Happy Belated Birthday Krystal...Hope you had a wonderful day! -
I take sips of coke zero off an on throughout the day. If i drink too much of it my pouch will hurt. They say to stay away from carbonated drinks...but i think in moderation, should be OK. That's just me though...may want to check with your Dr. also.

So there is no pain with a stricture?

What to wear home from surgery?
TxDumplin replied to punkin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL...so funny! Yes, a moomoo is the way to go! I was so swollen too and could not stand the thought of something touching those incision sites! -
Thanks y'all...I drank a hot cup of mocha and it feels a little better. If it bothers me tonight i will call surgeon tomorrow morning.
-
I would say get your dr to write a letter to them explaining why the surgery will benefit you. Submit it again.

Oh man, I think I made a mistake!
TxDumplin replied to PittGuy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Agree...no big deal having it taken out. Remember, you will probably still be on the morphine pump or some other pain meds when they come take it out. Don't stress out about it -

I'm Beth...and I'm 49. I got married to my high school sweetheart at 18 and we are still going strong. We have two girls that are grown with families of their own. I have not worked outside the home in 5 years and love being a domestic goddess. My weight spiralled out of control in 2006 after a hysterectomy. We have one Boxer dog named Molly. She is 11 years old now and starting to have medical issues. It's breaking my heart seeing her go from being so vibrant to just wanting to lay around all day. I love garage sales and the facebook garage sale sites. I like to find old furniture...refinish it and keep it for myself or re-sell it. I also love gardening and getting dirt under my fingernails. My life is pretty boring right now....Just trying to stay focused and get healthy. Love this April group. I don't comment much but i do visit everyday to see how everyone is doing. I can't wait till we are a year out and at goal or near it. Cheers to everyone xoxoxo -
That's exactly why I only told the people closest to me. I knew people would have to share their opinion with me and I didn't want to hear it! I had one complication 5 days after surgery. I would do it again in a heartbeat! People are too quick to judge and they are not informed.

My surgeon said if I lose 60% of my weight the surgery would be considered a success. He said 140 something for me....I say 125.
