  1. I am 7 months post sleeve and down 55 pounds. Thursday evening after work I got the most intense pain in my chest. Nothing I was doing was helping so I went to the ER about 2 am. After a chest xray, EKG and ultrasound they said it's gallstones. Got some morphine (awesome) and the name of a surgeon to call. I felt great all weekend but tonight hurting again. Took a zofran (also awesome) and a hydrocodone but can't sleep. I'm calling in the morning but my question is..WHO do I call? The surgeon the ER doc suggested? Should I call my sleeve surgeon? My GP? This is new to me so I wanted to get some thoughts. Would also love to hear from anyone that's had their gallbladder removed post sleeve. How was recovery? Thanks!

    Eating too much

I was sleeved 8/29 and I've been feeling the exact same way! Lost almost the same amount also...lok!
  6. I was sleeved 8/29 and for the last couple of weeks I've had horrible insomnia! I just cannot sleep!! I'm so so tired! I'm still off work, going back to work Thursday. I have GOT to be able to sleep. I've been taking my kids to school in the AM, coming home and eating a little Breakfast and then finally filling asleep at about 9am. I may call my surgeon and ask if I can take an OTC sleep aid of some kind.

Woke up feeling awful 3 weeks post op

Thanks Richard. I know I'm not getting in 60oz yet. Its a struggle to get a 32oz G2 finished. I feel like I am sipping allll the time but I can't seem to take in that much!!
  9. I hardly slept, could not get comfortable and my body just feels achy. Almost like flu achy. I've been nauseous off and on since yesterday but no fever. My bm's have been like liquid and I'm afraid I'm dehydrated. I've already been to the ER once for fluids at 8 days out. Trying to get some gatorade in and maybe a little sleep. Going to call the docs office when they open. Anyone experience these symptoms?

    left side ache

My doc puts in this surgical mesh over the largest incision to give it more support in the healing process. I had my 1 week post-op visit today and when I asked about the discomfort on my side they said it usually resolves itself in a few weeks. Hope yours does!
  12. This morning I woke up feeling worse for wear and I posted this thread http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/93159-day-8-feel-worse-not-better/ Well.... I went to my appointment, got my staples out with little fanfare. Got weighed, down 18 pounds since surgery... yay!! Then the PA hits me with "Your pulse rate is really high" so they checked it a couple more times. I had told her how I was feeling earlier so she calls the doc and they decide I'm dehydrated and need to go to the ER for IV fluids. When I get there they determine I have a pretty bad UTI (probably the back pain I've been experiencing) and that had led to my dehydration and higher pulse. I spent about 5 hours in the ER getting 2 bags of fluids and an antibiotic. Ugh. I have REALLY been trying to stay on top of my intake and thought I was doing good! Guess not...lol. It was a good wake up call though and I'm glad my doc's office wanted to be on the safe side and get me checked at the ER. I would have hated to go all weekend, it would have just gotten worse more than likely. It's still SO SO hot where I live (TX) so I'm really going to have to keep an even closer eye on things.
  13. Every day since surgery I've felt a little better. Today is my post-op visit to get my staples out and I am soo ready for that. But I have been having some god-awful pain in my lower back on the left side. Yesterday had to resort back to my pain meds it was so bad. This morning its still killing me, I am completely nauseous and generally feel like crap! So now I'm laying on the heating pad, sipping a vitamin water and hoping I can sleep a few more hours before I have to drag myself to my appointment. I feel like I've taken 3 steps backward.

    Dr. David D Kim DFW?

After my band removal he did come to my room and talk with me and my DH. When I was sleeved I only saw him before they took me back. My personal opinion was that I was using him for his surgical skills and not his bedside manner. I have no regrets picking him as my surgeon but I don't know that we would be bffs or anything. Lol!

    Dr. David D Kim DFW?

Dr. Kim did by band removal in June and I was sleeved by him last week. I think he's very thorough, wouldn't do my sleeve when he found erosion with my band, but he isn't the kind of doctor that will coddle you. He's pretty much strictly business. I will say that I do think his post-op diet is THE most restrictive I've heard of. And I don't think there's a chance I will be able to make it 6 weeks on just liquids. Ugh!
