I figure I'm going to have excess skin around my belly that I can't avoid. The picture of me from Saturday is a little deceiving. I still have a belly. Did you pay out of pocket for the TT or did insurance cover that?

How far out are you?

Great job!! -
I followed my nutritionists plan and as soon as my doctor cleared me for the gym I started exercising and working out. On my right wrist I am wearing a fitbit flex which monitors steps, calories, etc. I recommend some kind of good pedometer. My doctor advised me to walk at least 2 miles a day. I now walk between 4-6 a day. Keeping your heart rate up is key.

First picture is from August of 2012 when I decided to have the surgery. I was at my biggest at 406. The second picture is from Saturday after my sons football game, almost 6 months to the day from my surgery(3/4/13). I weighed in at 287. My wife was tired of hearing me complain that I didn't think I lost a lot of weight. Now I see it.

Normal. I had a stitch come out of one of my incisions. I mean come out as in began to stick out. It got longer and longer. Eventually they will be loose enough to gently tug on them and it will come out. It took mine a few days to become loose. My doctor said it wasn't a big deal and would have pulled them out if I had any during my last visit. My wife had a surgery and the same thing happened. -
Welcome to the post op side. You're doing better than me. I was really nauseous they day after surgery.

Totally normal.

You need to have your stomach empty to fit all the protein in that you can. If you eat and drink you'll get less food in. You don't have to drink 30 minutes before and after they don't want you to drink within 30 minutes before and after.

**IF YOU STILL HAVE YOUR GALL BLADDER PAY ATTENTION****
mattsbelly replied to ImLooznit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor ran a test to see if I would have issues. I passed and got to keep my gall bladder. They guy in surgery right before me and subsequent roommate had his removed. He was up on his feet a day before I was. -
You will be knocked out for it. You'll have to partial disrobe. I was allowed to keep my pants on as long as there were no zippers on them. (No idea why) and I put a gown on. Can't help you with a bra. I was there between 3-4 hours. That's including checking in getting to the room and waiting about 30-45 minutes in the bed, the procedure and the recovery. It was bad at all afterwards. On a scale of 1-10 of pain it was maybe a 2. I was fine about an hour after leaving the hospital.

cannot stomach vitamins!
mattsbelly replied to greygirl903's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I took non gummy vitamins and immediately threw up. I take gummy vitamins now. -
I used GNC extreme 60 chocolate and Cookies and cream. They are decent if you use skim milk. Since the surgery I have stopped using them because they are like 300 calories per serving, and that's a huge portion of my allotted calories for the day. I was allowed three of those per day during my two week diet. Now I use EAS Carb Control. They are only 110 calories low sugar and carbs and 17g of Protein. And they are 12oz which is enough for me now. I use the rich dark chocolate flavor. You can buy the powder or pre mixed drinks. Because of my job, I buy the pre-mixed drinks and grab them from my cooler.
