Hello everyone,
I'm from Medford and got sleeved 1/15/13. Pre-Op weight was 280 and my weight at time of surgery was 265 ,current weight is 237. Surgery was done at the MGH by Dr Denise Gee who has performed 100's of these. No complications but it did take a long time to work my way through the process. 12-16 months but it was worth it. They stressed slow but steady and the education/support piece was what they stessed the most because anyone can have surgery but learning how to live with it is a whole different way of living your life.

Hello Lindsay,
Had my surgery Tuesday with Dr Gee. I was her first patient. It went well. I am currently in my hospital room waiting to check. 2 nights in the hospital sucks but that's what it takes. I couldn't get any sleep. I feel pretty good right now. I did question myself yesterday because I was sick of the I V fluids at night. They made me go the bathroom every15-20 minutes so I couldn't sleep.< /p>
Dr Gee and her team did an amazing job. You're in good hands.
Good luck next Tuesday.
Brian.

Hi Lindsay, I had nutrition group 1 today at 9am. What time was yours?

Where and when do the support groups meet or is that just for post op?

No. I'm scheduled for about 10 different dr visits over the next few weeks. Where and when do the support groups meet?

Good luck George!!! I would do anything just to have a surgery date' date=' so i'm super jealous. All you MGH'ers.....how long did the whole process take? they seem to be pretty busy so I was curious what the timeline was like for some of you....[/quote']Do you have a date with Dr Gee yet. I'm scheduled for 1/15 with her.

I'm just 6 weeks out and I'm hungry all the time and I seem to be able to eat anything but in much smaller potions but even those portions seem too big. I typically eat until I'm full and stop. I was told that is OK as long as the food is healthy. Lost 28 lbs since surgery but weightloss seems to have slowed down but I guess patience will help.
