~*~Have you ever lied about your weight?~*~
seppi replied to moon goddess's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Oh god yes, I have lied for years, I too am tall so most people wouldn't guess I weigh as much as I do. My drivers license and my work ID have been wrong since they were created. I work in a male dominated field and I would die if they ever knew what I weighed. I have never been to goal while working there actually I have never been this small. My husband knows that I would never lie to him unless he actually asked my weight. Silly hang up but I cannot fix it. -
Leener..I would have thought I had died and gone to heaven if I had worked in a coffee house I would have probably gone into caffeine overload! I have been on the nexium for almost 4 weeks. I am hoping that the doctor can come up with some magic remedy. Today, this afternoon, at least hasn't been too bad. I am dying for my afternoon cup of coffee. I will skip it to hopefully keep the good feeling going. Thanks everyone for the help.

OK thought I had this figured out, I am getting a little pissed. No coffee and this afternoon that familiar ache in my chest. Not incapacitating but painful. I am suppose to get a fill in about 2 weeks but I don't want to do it if I am still having problems. I was unfilled in the beginning of March. By some miracle I have lost a couple of pounds. Actually I think that I was overfilled in January, and perhaps have some irritation from that. I would think that it would be gone by now. This is really frustrating.

Problems swallowing calcium capsules?!
seppi replied to Stephanie MG's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I bought chewable calcium, they don't taste too bad. I also got a free sample of some chocolate, sugar free chewables, not too bad. -
Well, so far I survived the day as well as all others that came into contact with me. I didn't have any coffee and I also didn't have any pain. I feel kind of stupid not figuring this out before. Hopefully it will continue to improve. I do have one question, will I be able to drink coffee when my esophagus (sp?) heals? If so how will I know when it's OK? On another note, I don't have problems with water, for some reason cantaloupe seems to aggravate me, figures right? Ice Cream and stuff like that is fine, no problems. Thanks for everyones help, just when I thought I was the only one dying you guys gave some great advise!

Thank you for the quick responses. God I really hope that the Dr. can give me a different med and I can can have 1 cup of coffe. I feel like I have had to give up so many things that I love (food) I will start crying if I have to give up coffee too. will try no coffee tomorrow, I feel sorry for those who will have to deal with me in the morning. Any thought as as to why reflux would start so suddenly?

You could still be swollen following the surgery, my port area took the longest to feel good. If it continues I would call the doctor.

I had some severe pain not too long ago, several trips to the emergency room and several tests later, it turned out to be my gallbladder, it didn't show up on an ultrasound-no stones. The doctor ordered a HIDA scan and it showed the gallbladder wasn't functioning. I had it removed and no more crazy pain.

Oh my God I cannot believe the unprofessionalism this man has exhibited. When I first started reading I was thinking you should call the Doctor and let him know that his secretary was rude but as your experience went on I was appalled. I hope that once you get resolution you are able to find someone more compassionate. Also I don't think I would want to go to a doctor that works 100 hours a week and has worked 3 years straight, apparently quality care isn't his main objective.

Oh my gosh these sound so good. I don't eat beef and don't really like turkey, so I am a little sick of chicken. Thanks for the great ideas.

I have been doing OK, Having resolved reflux problems with nexium and and unfill. I have finally gotten the approval from my doctor to get a fill.. Well, yesterday I was making cookies with my daughter and the cookie dough looked so good, I took a pretty big piece and ate it, quickly. I knew as soon as I did it that I was in trouble. I ran to the bathroom sliming. ( I have some restriction so I should have known better) It came up pretty quickly, I thought I was OK, a little sore but a lesson learned. I ate dinner slowly last night. Today I ate and everything was getting stuck I have an ache behind my breastbone. I cannot eat anything with any substance. I know that I should have done liquids after that episode. Have I managed to go back to square one with this? Is there something that I can do to fix this? I am so mad at myself for doing this I cannot believe how stupid I can be. Any advise?

Congratulations!! Amazing! Wonderful! Fantastic! It is so great to see someone so successful!

YOu should be able to get the blood test results in time but maybe you can get the blood test done sooner so you don't have to worry.

I quit about a week before my surgery. Unfortunately I picked it back up. I was told that recovery is much easier if you don't smoke. I wish that I had kept up with the quitting, it's just so hard.

OK after 2 days of liquids it looks like everything is back to normal. Thanks to those who responded.

It sounds like you a a little too tight. We should be able to eat healthy, not just eat to curb hunger. I had to my fill removed after being too tight fro too long. The weight loss was great but I got to the point that I took 1 hour to drink a protein shake. It wasn't the way to go. I din't get the band to go on a liquid diet. On another note, make sure that you are taking Small bites and make really sure that you are chewing the h*ll out of everything that goes into your mouth.

Road to onderland challenge May 21-June 21
seppi replied to MiaHalliwell's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I didn't make it but i did go down .25. I will be there by next week. I started the Sacred Heart diet and have finally gotten in touch with the doctor about a fill. I wanted the band so I would have a tool to help me. The nurse is going to make sure it is OK. I really need one because this "flying solo" is for the birds! -

seppi replied to LindaV's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my gallbladder out about 7 weeks ago, and I had a stitch (clear thread) come to the surface about 3 weeks a go. I pulled it out and haven't had any problems. -
