Has anyone actually purchased/used a sippy cup?
maharet111 replied to pinkowl00's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh yes YUMMY PROFILE PICTURE!!! Bring on the Man Candy!!! -
I gave up a lot of things for this surgery and way of life..I was NOT giving up my 1 to 2 cups of coffee in the morning. I did wait until 6 weeks after surgery and I use Splenda and sugar free creamer in it. I also don't count it towards my fluid goals though.

You go girl!!!!

What a biatch..and a stupid one too. My trainer has never had a WLS patient and we started working out together when I was 6 weeks out and consuming 500 calories. I am almost 5 months out now and as my calories have increased he has stepped up the intensity of the workouts. I don't even know about heart zones yada yada yada..all I know is I am a puddle of sweat and cursing him out by the time we are done. 52 pounds later I consider him a success!

5 Positive improvements since being sleeved
maharet111 replied to Ballermom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here is my list: 1. Skinny Sex 2. More Skinny Sex 3. No more allergies for me 4. Stopped Snoring! 5. Can run away from my niece when she chases me.. It is possible I have sex on the brain today. -
Don't dread it or you will come to hate it and not do it. Find something you like and do that..dance naked in your living room, Water aerobics, make it a practice to park the furthest parking spot out and walk etc. I love working with my trainer too, but I have also come to love exercise..mainly because it makes my ass look fantastic

Average loss with the sleeve is 60% of excess weight?!?!
maharet111 replied to Nicolanz's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Average loss is whatever the hell you want it to be. As someone said these are the averages of a small group of people so in theory if you lose 70 80 or even 90 % you are an outlier. Who the hell wants to be average anyway? Don't get hung up on the numbers..work the program and it will work for you! I feel a cheerleader streak of posting coming on..doesn't happen often -
I had a male nurse in the hospital I stayed at and honestly after being exposed on the surgery table while on my period with just a pad between my legs and no underwear, I got over it. I honestly did not care at all, I just wanted to go the hell home lol

I crave sex alot more..does that count?!

You got to be kidding me about your doctor? 31 pounds in 6 weeks is like 5 pounds a week and that's too slow? Honey you need a new doctor.... As to your running question, the beauty of the app is that you go at your own pace. So you can repeat weeks and days until you feel ready to move on. I say try it and see if you like it. Strap on those running shoes and do what you can!

I increased my calories to about 1100 a day and I am 5 months out. My body does not respond to super low calorie restriction, I have never lost weight that way. My doctor told me to just listen to my body and not worry so much about calories and concentrate on Protein and fluids. I get my calories though from adding healthy fats such as Avocado's or Nuts or pumpkin Seeds etc. Along with Protein shakes that helps. I struggle with getting it beyond 1100 though.

I would have said, "I am pregnant, the aliens abducted me and experimented on me. The invasion is only days away, run for your miserable life" Most people if you just say something so off the wall that they don't expect it will just shut up and turn around and say nothing. Then they stew about what you said and come up with like 100 comebacks they should have said. Which of course is too late to say any of them

Curios question........What is your average weight loss each week?
maharet111 replied to Beach Lover's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As you can see from all the responses, every body is different here in terms of how they lose, how much they lose etc. Just like every doctor's pre-op and post-op diet there are a million and one different combinations of things. I know I went through the whole "OMFG why don't I look like Charlize Theron now" two days after surgery But give it time, and don't be a slave to the scale. This is a journey, not a race and with each pound you lose there will be ten new things you can do that you couldn't do before. -
Can hiatal hernia prevent me from being sleeved
maharet111 replied to TBodmer71's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I didn't even know I had one until the surgery. They fixed it then as well. It is like you get two surgery's for the price of one! -
I like the 5 gallon tub idea! This dip sounds freaking delish! AND IT HAS BACON OMG!!!!!

Today is a rest day since I did Trainer and Water Aerobics yesterday. Going to run tomorrow morning and start over Week 1 Day 1! Those are all great suggestions Fiddle! Especially the water one, because I forget that more often than not. I reached halfway to goal yesterday and that damn trainer of mine let me celebrate by giving me burpee's to do and amping up my workout..I could have killed him. Not really I think I am secretly in love with him!

You know..arguing on the Internet does not come with a prize!!! The OP has the right to state their opinion..even if some of you disagree with it. -
The goal weight number
maharet111 replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a number of 135 I got from a chart but the only person I ever discussed a goal with was my trainer. He told me it all depends on what I want as the fat comes off..do I want a bit more muscle or do I want to be lean or toned etc. so we decided I would get to 150 and then we would talk about it again. I actually want to be a bit more muscular..not freaky just nicely athletic! -
For those who have binge eating disorder, how has it developed post-op?
maharet111 replied to robocop12's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was a binge and purge eater before surgery..most likely bordering or in denial of having an eating disorder. It is funny though because the mental preparation for the surgery and life after it have lifted those desires from me completely. I no longer want to eat a whole pizza or a bucket of chicken wings. I haven't binged once since surgery because as other's said you just physically can't. I do treat myself to things like salt and vinegar potatoe chips..but I portion them out, I don't eat the whole bag like before. -
