Gastric Sleeve Surgery - What My Doc Told Me to Expect
marathoner2 commented on joatsaint's blog entry in Gastric Sleeve Surgery - An Unexpected Journey
Best wishes to you! Re the clothes, I did the same - used and still using clothes I had from when they fit at one time in the past...it's a very cool thing. As well, there is a SAVERS store nearby, and I have been going there since my surgery, getting 2nd hand clothing that is' in great shape, wearing it and then bringing it back to donate for resale, and buying more. Like having a giant inexpensive closet and the money goes to a good cause. At some point I'll buy more new clothing, right now I've only bought 3 new shirts - and they are too big after only 2 weeks...so Savers it is.. -
I drink a protein shake, or have greek yogurr with Unjury added, about an hour or more before. Then I bring a banana and a Muscle milk light with me, and on my way out of the gym eat one or the other.....and give myself a choice! Where I've already done a double dose of protein prior I can do that more easily.. Then when I get home about an hour after that, look to have my protein again.

I never tried mushing it up. I tried it when first on regular food, and didnt do well at all. But I didnt do well on tuna either. The good news is I'm 2 1/2 months out and been eating both for about 3 weeks, and very happy. Innerds just plain have to heal. They told me that too...but I hear ya re craving....I had the same thnig gonig on, and 2 mouthfuls did me in... Very happy now! TIme will come for you! Everyone is different....

Gas, Gas, Gas!

Patience! Surgery is a big deal....hang in there. It will change, it's temporary - and is for the most part driven by drinking shakes...as you head to food, more and more, you will reduce this issue more and more. Best wishes! -
Help...headache. Surgery Tomorrow!
marathoner2 replied to sunshinegurl's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Water, water, water...I see you noted being hydrated, but you can wash headaches out. Worth a try. massage your head, or have someone do it for you. Relaxing atmosphere only. You dont have to know how to do the surgery....they do. They are the ones with the pressue, take it off of you. You'll use what you've learned after, and have a lot of coaching and support. It's really a good time for you. Take care and best wishes tomorrow. Be sure to eat protein today, no carbs/sugar - will feed the headache. -
Egd Cancelled? Is This Ok?!

I only had an EKG. The good news is they didn't consider you high risk to come in for the test!! That's terrific!! If the doc wants it he/she will get it done, otherwise hurrah!!.Take a deep breath and move forward!!! One less thing!!! -
Muscle Milk light - very convenient and taste good! They have regular muscle milk which has more sugar in it. I use Unjury as well, and is worth the mixing time as it tastes great and several flavors.
