1 Weak Out - Dehydrated, Getting Hardly Any Protein And Starving
sunshyn21 replied to PinkBubble's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is EXACTLY how I feel!! I had RNY 11/26/13 and as since surgery I haven't been getting much Fluid or protein. I get lightheaded, feel faint, and have palpitations whenever I exert any energy at. I've been getting dressed in stages because of this. I feel like I'm just gonna shrivel up and die. Everything is a struggle and food/shakes/soup is the enemy now. I cried in walmart today. It was pretty pathetic Anyway, I return to work Monday and I'm stressing about it. And sorry y'all...just realized this is a Sleeve discussion. I saw ppl who felt my pain and just jumped on in. Lol. -

Hello all...I'm 18 days out from gastric bypass and I've been on my period a month now, as my period started when my wt loss started during the 2wk preop diet. I've had PCOS since forever which was bearable with birth control from ages 13-26 but I suffered from blood clots in both lungs 3.5 yrs ago which put an end to hormones for me. ImIn the last 3yrs I've seen multiple GYNs and a fertility specialist for my ridiculously long and heavy periods. D&C helped for 3wks then I started bleeding again. Although hormones are contraindicated for me, apparently progesterone only isn't super risky so I tried vaginal progesterone. This did nothing so I then tried progesterone injections which I did twice a day in my hips That didn't help either and it was then the fertility doc suggested endometrial ablation or hysterectomy for me...at that time a 29yr old single woman with no kids. Long story short, I held out and eventually it stopped after a few months. I go through long periods every so often and have landed in ER twice with dehydration and anemia. Living this way sucks. I'm outta options at this point. It's either hyste at 30 with no kids or continue to bleed...and bleed for God knows how long with hopes that this wt loss will help my hormones level out soon. *sigh* It's a difficult place to be in but I'm gonna hang in there and keep praying for the best.

Already Regretting Rny 11 Days Out...

I'm a 30yr old female 11 days post op in the midst of yet another meltdown. I'm single, no kids, severe PCOS, sleep apnea, high BP, had blood lots in both lungs 3yrs ago, and just found out 2wks before surgery that I have a clotting disorder. Aunt Flo arrived during my 1st wk of pre-op diet...and is still here. I started blood thinning shots Lovenox twice a day 5 days pre-op and now I have an incision that's started to bleed. Exactly 1wk post-op I got the flu which I'm still trying to recover from. I was dehydrated with low BP at the doc this wk, so I was taken off my BP meds for the first time in 13yrs! But I've felt so sh!tty I haven't really been able to appreciate that yet. Anyway, I'm feeling terribly discouraged and completely unsure about my decision to have bypass. The whole process took over a year, so I had plenty of time to think and research and that's what I did. But now I'm totally regretting doing this to myself and I don't know if it's hormones that are making me psycho or if I'm just frustrated from being sick or if this is normal or if it's a combination of all of the above. Either way, I'm stuck so I guess I have to deal but I just needed to vent. Thanks. -
November 2013 Post Op

I have the Isopure unflavored and it's horrible!! I tried mixing it in grits and it made them watery and gross. I mixed it in water with crystal light and it gave it a salty, almost onion flavor and smelled horrendous. Am I missing something?? Lol -

I'm not really losing either but I'm dehydrated and sick with a virus so I'm giving myself a chance to heal. I pray this is just a tiny speed bump. I also have PCOS and still worry SO much about that screwing up my losing. I'm currently on 3rd wk of my cycle and I'm on the blood thinner Lovenox twice a day for clotting disorder. And unfortunately, birth control isn't an option. I'm also praying this stops soon because anemia and dehydration would suck really a lot. Lol. -

Hey everyone! I had RNY last week on 11/26, so I'm 8 days out. Long story short: everything has gone pretty well, no complications, tolerating full liquids with no problem BUT I'm still struggling with amount of liquids. I've never been a big drinker, so I've been borderline dehydrated all week. And to further complicate things, I got sick outta the blue last nite and now I have the whole cough, chills, fever, low blood pressure, and high pulse. Doc says likely viral but I'm starting antibiotics to prevent anything bacterial and I got a shot of steroids in office to help with tightness in my lungs. I had planned to return to work 2wks out but was told today that working in December is outta the question now. D@mn, d@mn, d@mn!! So here I lay on the couch with my blanket, my 2 warm doggies, heating pad, and Water. Needless to say, I'm pretty bummed about all this but I'm trying to look at the bright side and hope that maybe I'll shed a few more pounds this way. Thanks for letting me vent! Hope everything is all good with u losers! -

Awww BJ I'm sorry to hear about the complications but u made it and ur on the other side of it all now! I can't even begin to imagine what ur thinking and feeling because I've had some "OMG what have I done to myself?!" moments and everything has gone pretty smooth for me. At this point I'm still not able to think about a day at a time...it's more like a sip at a time for me. I've found myself getting so frustrated at having to drink when my insides still feel so full that they could pop at any moment. But I remind myself this is the hardest part, this too shall pass, and anything worth having is worth fighting for. Idk about u, but I've kicked @ss to get to this point so there's no way I'm backing off now!! We got this...and someday it'll all be a distant memory because we'll have so many awesome memories from the new and improved life we worked so hard to get. Anyway, u guys are in my thoughts and prayers and remember ur not in this alone!! -Smooches!!

I just finished a whole bottle of water...it took a while but I did it! And I can't wait to poop!! It's the little things in life, right? Lol
-
Well I made it!! I got to go home on full liquids but so far nothing at all is appealing. And food commercials turn my stomach. The gas is by far the worst part!! It's a real struggle to make myself sip because the tiniest little bit makes me feel overfilled and uncomfortable. I've had a few bouts of nausea and some spasms but thankfully no vomiting. After sleeping with heating pad on my back then making multiple laps in my house, I finally got rewarded with my first real fart and OMG it was amazing!! Lol. Sorry if TMI but I know those of u who have been tree totally get it. I've yet to need any pain meds, as the only discomfort is gas and moving around helps. At this point I'm just moving and sipping and hoping this unpleasant fullness goes away soon. My stats: HW 299; START OF 2WK PREOP 286; SURGERY WT 272; FIRST POST-OP DAY 272 Anyway, thanks for the prayers and well wishes!!

BJ you ready?? Let's do it!!! I feel like dancing but I'm still at work so I gotta hold it in! Lol

Thanks for the kind words, they're very much appreciated. I guess for me one of the biggest reasons I'm having this is so that I may be able to have children. PCOS has ruined any chances of that happening thus far and I'm not ok with that. I deserve the chance to be a mother just like I deserve the chance to take control of my life and be healthy and happy. Thanks for the mental shake Moxy!!
