    Endoscopy Diagnosis

I'm right there with ya! Soooo disappointing!! I have chronic inflammation of esophagus, stomach, and duodenum but so far 2 different docs don't know why
  2. Got the call today that my sleeve has been approved!!!! I feel like I've won the lottery!! I haven't scheduled my date yet but it will have to be in August for work reasons. My 30th birthday is in August, so happy birthday me!!

    Approved!

I think it all depends on insurance. Some require 6mo of MD supervised wt loss. Bad news for me...had a follow up scope to see how my ulcers and inflamed stomach is doing and my belly is actively bleeding. Docs aren't sure why it won't heal so more tests and more meds followed by more meds before I can even think of surgery I cried like a baby!! My Quest for health seems to be never ending...but I'm still determined to get there!! Trying to stay positive and keep on keepin on! With that said, good luck to u all with approaching sleeve dates!!!

Fear of dating after major weight loss

I feel the exact same way...except I'm single and have always been overweight. My tentative sleeve date is in late August and the thought of "skinny dating" terrifies me!! I've never had a problem attracting men and I actually run into a lot of guys now who seem to just see me as a sexual object and it's annoying as hell!! I don't dress provocative or behave like a "hoochie mama" so I don't get it!! I've heard that some guys go after big girls because a lot of "us" have self esteem issues and may accept some things that other women wouldn't. Thankfully I realize my worth so I've had to do a lot of kickin to the curb! Lol. Anyway, with the amount of attention I get now, I can't even imagine what will come my way when my inner skinny diva is visible to the world!! Problem is, I find that I'm already defensive and ready to dismiss anyone who couldn't accept me as I am now. I'm thinking about carrying pics of me to show the "old" me. I believe I'll still be the same inside but I don't know how to get past feelings of anger and rejection from years of being overlooked because of my fat shell. I'm getting sleeved as a 30th bday gift to myself because I'm ready to start living instead just surviving and I know that hanging on to old feelings and insecurities will hinder my journey. Thanks for reading...any feedback is much appreciated!!

    Any Tennessee Sleevers Out There?

Hey y'all! I'm Alicia from Chattanooga. I'm hoping to get sleeved soon since BlueCross is finally covering bariatrics in 2013. I plan to have surgery at Centennial in Nashville but I haven't picked a doc yet. I've done the seminar and started trying to shed some pounds already. I'm planning to get the psych eval over with in the next 2wks...and whatever other hoops I need to jump thru to get this done ASAP. Wish me luck!
  13. Very nice!! Keep it up!!!

    Pulmonary Embolism?

Hello all. I haven't had the VSG yet...still going thru the approval process, but for me the fear of clots is a very real one. I'm 2.5yrs out from bilateral PEs...blood clots in both lungs at the ripe age of 26. I'm not on Coumadin, just daily aspirin and I worry A LOT about clots post surgery.
