1. Let's see.... I'm sure I made a list pre surgery but let's make another one now that I'm pretty much at goal. I'll compare the two later lol 1. I won't miss having to look up weight/size limits for rides at amusement parks 2. I won't miss not being able to go on the rides at the fair with my kids. 3. I won't miss having to shop at "old lady" stores for clothes in my 20s. 4. I won't miss being afraid to fly because I might encroach into someone else's seat. And some things that I THOUGHT would change but haven't yet.... 1. Being self conscious about my breathing or getting out of breath 2. Always worrying about if I'm clean or if I stink 3. Hating having to squeeze around someone and accidentally bumping them 4. Always feeling the fastest person in the room 5. Feeling my fat tummy squish out when I sit down.
2. If I'm completely honest with myself MOST of these were mine too!!
3. I literally never touched mine at all. I'm used to tattoo and piercing care so competitively I did nothing at all. In reality what I did do was use antibacterial dial soap in the shower and let them get plenty of air from day one. I never had more than some steri-strips and skin glue though. By day 3 post op they were already healed.

Maintenance?!

Hello everyone! So I'm coming up to my 1 year anniversary very quickly (surgery date was 12-12-12) and I'm at goal weight. I've never been able to get down more than 850 calories in a day and I'm wondering what in the heck am I going to do to get to the 1200 calorie maintenance mark?? Also I think it's kinda funny but I live with mfp app in my hand. If I have food in front of me I have the app open on my phone. I know I'm a little obsessed but I also have OCD so I'm not too terribly worried about that part. I'm more concerned with what people do for maintenance mode? Food choices, calorie intake, work outs etc. Thanks for the help guys!

New nsv

Well I went to my high school reunion over the weekend and on all the rush I forgot to bring myself anything to wear the day after while visiting family so I had to run to Wal-Mart to grab some jeans and a sweater, nothing fancy just cheap and something that FIT. Normally I would just steal my mom's clothes but I'm no where near the right size to wear them anymore. Anyway, I have been wearing 10/8 jeans depending on the cut bit I had noticed they weren't really sitting 100% so I tried on some 8s and they were too baggy so I grabbed a pair of 6s and left without even trying them on since my family was waiting for me. I got back to my mom's and reluctantly slipped on the 6s. They were tighter than I'm used to on my calves as I tried to pull them up so I did what I always have done and started to think of all the reasons why I didn't like the jeans anyway so it wouldn't hurt so bad when I was too fat for them... but they slipped up. And then they defied nature and buttoned... and zipped! And they FIT! Every day, every size, that passes is new uncharted territory for me. I've never been this small even in high school so it's exciting and terrifying! Lol but I'm enjoying the new jeans.
7. A roomba is one of those old floor cleaning robots they used to sell lol she's our floor cleaner.
8. Well the pic is sideways and I'm on my phone so I don't know what the heck is wrong with it lol. But that's my son and our Roomba named Zelda.

All of my December sleevers...

All of my December sleevers...

I don't know... I don't worry about losing too much weight but my family does. My daughter (almost 5) is afraid I'm going to "disappear" and my mom has started in on it too. Apparently I've reached the weight they are no longer comfortable with. I have 10lbs to goal and aside from being bony in my shoulders everything else still has a padding of fat. So I don't know... I passed point of comfort a long time ago when I got under 200. That was 40lbs ago though so I don't know how I feel about it now. Lol
11. Hehe mine itched like crazy too!! I just scratched around them. It's not perfect but it certainly helps. Hot showers help too for whatever reason. Thankfully it doesn't last forever though! 9 months out they itch every once in a while but at least now I can scratch them. I also had the skin glue and in one of my sites I had a piece of the dissolving stitches poking through the glue. I actually talked to my surgeon about it and he said he'd never seen that before, made a comment about me being overly gentle and said if I was up to it all it would take would be a little exfoliation and it would come right off. Lol most bizarre conversation I've ever had with a doctor. Well...aside from the importance of bowel movement consistency after giving birth to my daughter. LOL

Help!

I stopped drinking sweet Protein drinks almost as soon as I started. Unflavored protein mixed with broth or Soup. WAY better than the nasty sweet stuff.

All of my December sleevers...

It's funny to hear everyone's different opinions on weight goals. I THOUGHT that 150 was going to be tiny and that's the goal weight my surgeon has for me. Heck, I thought 175 was going to be tiny. Im now 164 (last time I checked was a little over 2 weeks ago) and I feel like I have at LEAST 20-30lbs more that could easily come off which would put me around 135-145. Never in a million years would I think that I would be 150 let alone less than that. But it's becoming more and more apparent that yes, my frame is a lot smaller than anyone thought. I'm extremely wasp waisted and come to find out I have very small legs and arms. Who knew?? I'm 5' 6 1/2" and at 164 I wear a s/m top, size 8 jeans and size 8 dress. All that being said my surgeon said that most people hit their lowest weight and then typically gain back about 10-15 lbs so the lower you go right out the gate the better.
