So I've been getting really disheartened with my slowing loss so I've started looking at my old pics. Wow. Yeah... to all those disheartened? Just keep swimming, swimming swimming! What do we do? We swim swim swim!

Ok so yeah I'm loving the way I look with clothes on and I'm expertly skilled at hiding the fact that I have a pannus but I need to know the nitty gritty here folks!! Mine is deflated but still pretty significant and I need to know what compression garments work best for keeping it in place while running. I'm in training for my first 5k abs until now I've been working on the elliptical which is a lot smoother than hitting the pavement. I'm getting ready for the transition and as you all know that sugar HURTS when you start bouncing around like a little teenager at a punk show. Any help? Advice? Tips? I know I'm not the only one. All of my December sleevers...

I'm trying to figure out what weight is right for me. I'm 20 lbs away from goal and a normal BMI but when I look in the mirror with all the loose skin it feels like I could easily go 30+ more lbs down. I have NO idea what 20 lbs on a 170 lb 5' 6" frame looks like so I might take the 20 off and feel just right. I'm just kinda lost right now. Happy to be down 100+ lbs but no clue where I'm gonna land or what I'm gonna do. -

Well... it's saggy. Reminds me of a balloon that's sat around too long and lost its air. Now only if it shrunk when I touched it like the skin of an old shriveled balloon. Damn. I work out a lot actually. Not as much as some but more than I used to that's for sure. 3-5 days a week to be exact. I'm not so sure I believe that it does as much good for my skin as people try to say. Humph. I'm just saving my money to get it surgically removed to be honest. In the meantime I just stay super hydrated, leather myself with lotion, go to the gym and hope for the best. Luckily my hubby loved me at 306 giving birth to our first child and now at a deflated 173. Not sure what I would do if I were in the dating world... -

rswa3319 replied to blkdiamond377's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
After what seemed like creeping slowly foreeeeeever I just dropped 4 lbs this week putting me at 102 lbs lost. I'm so excited! This comes after a huge burn off 1200 cals at the gym tonight. I'm a tired, content chickadee. -

Stuck stuck stuck!!! Stalled out at 98 lbs lost but I'm also ahead of my surgeons schedule with weight loss by two months so I'm just trying to keep that in mind when I get frustrated. I am about 25 lbs away from goal and technically have until December to reach that... I just have varuca syndrome... I want it nooowwww. -
So I have been sick since Friday and that totally sucks but as of this afternoon my BMI is 29.9 and I am officially no longer obese. I have lost 90 lbs since 12/12/12 and I am only 30-35lbs away from my goal and I am not scheduled to be there until 12/12/13. Just keeping an eye out for my silver lining. lol

I have a full upper back piece and yes it actually has spanned out farther across my shoulders and around a little so you can see it more on my shoulders and not just on my back. It may have spread like a total of 2 inches across so that's not too bad. Luckily it also doesn't look distorted... just a little bigger lol.

My hair has been falling out for a while... like half of it has fallen out so far. I know I'm not getting enough protein, fluid or vitamins and I'm working on it but ugh it's scary to pull handfuls of hair all day long. I just try not to touch it anymore lol -
From what I've heard and talked about with my surgeon it's because your skin needs a year to catch up and then they want to see 6 months of weight stability after that. I'm starting saving and researching now though. My son just turned a year old and believe me 1 year is NOT long at all when you are busy.

When do you celebrate 100 lbs lost?
rswa3319 replied to aquitenonnymouse's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congrats! I say celebrate EVERY time. Lol i celebrate ask the time, mostly because i have a hard time liking ANYTHING about my body though. Btw you had your surgery on my daughter's bday, just a cure realization. I'm getting close to that Mark now too. I started off at 275 and I'm 197 as of this morning. People are starting to ask me how much weight I've lost and i say "just a bit... about the same as my kids combined" seeing as how i have a 4 year old and a 1 year old people's mouths drop open. Lol -
Is anyone critical of their body more now?

Nothing has really helped so far but I'm only 4 months out too. I've lost right about 75lbs total. -

Ooooh yes!! Absolutely harder on myself now than ever before. I look like i have an ill fitting skin suit on now where before i just looked fat. I think sometimes i looked better before. -

I was sleeved on 12/12/12 and so far I've lost a total of 73 lbs. I have to constantly keep tabs on being happy with what I've accomplished so far instead of getting angry that i stall so frequently. I pretty much lose 6 lbs one week then stall for two weeks and that's been going on for at least the last two months. I've learned to just surrender to it and enjoy the marathon instead of the sprint. I'm having to go out and buy new bras again today because i keep shrinking out of mine. Lol if i weren't actually going UP in cup size i might actually be upset. 201 lbs currently and oh so covering one-derland. -
So i am two and a half months post op and I'm trying to figure out insurance for my 3 month post op visit since mine was changed at the first of the year. Go figure. Anyway, I've only ever been able to get down about an ounce of food at a time. I have head hunger but i never actually get hungry hungry. I'm not getting down as much food, Fluid or Protein as I'm supposed to be and I've been trying like mad. Today i actually got down almost an entire egg with a tiny bit of salsa, sour cream and diced turkey breast. It went down fine around 10 am. At lunch i attempted to eat some chicken, got about a tablespoon down and immediately got the slimes that quickly snowballed into vomiting. It all came up and the rest of the evening has been downright painful. If i still had lortab i would have taken it today. Even liquids hurt if i go too fast. Just checking in to see what others experiences have been? Especially this far out i would have thought eating and drinking would be easier than this.

I was cleared for full "normal" diet at my one month post op appt. I've been alright other than not getting down enough of everything. They nagged at me last time for that... Just not much i can do if it doesn't want to go down.

My NUT told me diet snapple, crystal lite, sugar free popsicles and I make koolaid with splenda... They are ALL great. Oh oh and I also make a homemade sugar free version of starbucks passion iced tea lemonade. You can buy tazo tea bags in the passion flavor (exact same brand as starbucks uses) and then I mix it half and half with hawaiian punch sugar free lemon berry splash that they sell in individual serving pouches.

Today i found out that i streched my pouch

It seems like the problem COULD be your brand and nutritional info of Protein shakes.... With you stating that you are drinking 120+ grabs if protein a day: 25g of protein per scoop of protein at an average of 110 calories each leaves you with 550 calories MINIMUM just in shakes alone. Thats not counting carbs or if the OP used anything other than Water to mix her shakes. It is very very possible that shes drinking so many calories in her shakes that she could gain weight. Easy. To the OP examine your nutritional info of the shakes you are drinking you may need to cut WAY back and/or change the way you are making them.
