Hi my name is Brandy. I know my profile says Sophia but it is an inside family joke. I am a single mother to a wonderful four year old named Abigail or Abby as we like to call her. She is my world and I love her to the moon and back. Weight has been an issue for most of my life. When I was younger my mother kept us active in brownies, girl scouts, baseball, etc. For the most part I was just really chubby not really morbidly obese yet. (ugh I hate those words "mobidly obese") I was around 270-275 when I got pregnant. I had Abby when I was 34. The pregnancy packed on 26 more pounds. I gained even more weight after that! So needless to say I have found myself looking in the mirror not even recognizing myself anymore. It was a hard decision to have surgery. I wish I could do it on my own but I need help and that is why I am going to have the vertical sleeve gastrectomy. I am doing it for myself and for my daughter. She needs her mommy around! I look forward to having the support and I hope I can encourage and motivate others as well. Any tips and suggestions are more than welcome!
